Agama Yoga offers accommodation in partnership with Haad Chao Pao Resort. Basic wooden and bamboo style bungalows in a big green garden beside the ocean include a terrace, a private bathroom with normal (not hot) water, fan, and a mosquito net. Dormitory type accommodation is available for those who are on a budget and don’t mind sharing an experience with other beautiful souls. The dorm include fan room and shared bathrooms (normal, not hot water).
Agama Yoga carefully crafts this 200-hour teacher training course to ascend an individual through a deepening of asanas, pranayama, yogic philosophy, mantras, meditation, a deepened understanding of the complete chakra system, and modern methods in which they can be taught. The Agama 200-hour teacher training course includes two two-hour Hatha yoga classes per day and one evening lecture, six days per week.
The course is designed for everyone regardless of age, physical ability, or previous experience with yoga. The pace of the course allows those new to yoga to easily follow the teachings, while students who already have a yoga practice will find ample opportunities to deepen their understanding.
The practice and knowledge given in the course will allow you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, strengthen your physical body, improve your willpower and self-confidence, create healthy new habits, and find emotional balance and inner harmony. You will also become aware of energy, learn to recognize its different forms, and understand how to direct it for a specific purpose.
The 200-hour yoga teacher training is designed to be a powerful addition to Agama’s cornerstone retreat: The Level 1 Yoga Intensive. While Level 1 is a unique opportunity intended to be accessible to everyone, as a 200-hour teacher training course student, you will acquire a complete tool-kit to become a successful, modern yoga instructor, eligible to teach worldwide.
Teacher training course students will complete a highly specialized, five-week program led by senior teachers that prepares students physically, mentally, and spiritually to transmit the Agama teachings.
While progressing through the standard, four-week Level 1 course, teacher training course students will additionally attend regular, required teacher training sessions, lectures, and practical workshops. These daily lectures and practical workshops occur during the Level 1 mid-day break and address teaching-specific materials, theory, curriculum, and practice.
Upon completion of the first four weeks, teacher training course students will continue on and receive one additional week; entirely dedicated to deepening into teaching-intensive instruction. Students are also encouraged to attend impromptu (non-required) Sunday activities as well which are geared toward team / community building.
During the five weeks and upon successful completion of the course, you will receive:
Participants need to be in good physical and psychological health, in order to participate fully in the Hatha yoga sessions and to absorb the considerable amount of information presented. Participants must be able to read, speak, and comprehend English with a satisfactory degree of fluency.
Agama Hatha yoga is a niche product which can set a teacher up for immediate success. Both of these following factors allow a teacher to create a unique position within any market, give the freedom to move between multiple styles of yoga, and contribute a greater chance of recurring students and full classes
Agama Hatha yoga can be taught and stand apart in a market saturated with popular Vinyasa studios that typically only address the physical aspects of yoga
Agama Hatha yoga provides students that regularly attend popular, Vinyasa style teachings with a deeper, internal awareness, empowering students with an enriched, overall yoga experience
In the Agama 200-hour teacher training course, you will be introduced to two special Hatha yoga programs: the Agama Dynamic Sadhana and the Agama Meditative Sadhana. These sadhanas are ready-made programs designed specifically to make you successful immediately after your graduation from the program. They are composed of selected teachings taught throughout the course.
The Agama Sadhana programs are made with the intention of providing teacher training course graduates with two high quality sets of more particular Hatha yoga practices, each focusing on a different type of common needs and demands of Yoga students around the world.
The Dynamic program focuses on intensity, dynamism, willpower, and energizing, while the Meditative program focuses on relaxation, balancing, deeper practice, and a meditative attitude in yoga.
These two programs are adaptations of the Agama yoga style, structured to suit the way Hatha yoga classes are commonly held worldwide. The use of the sadhana programs will allow you to teach the beneficial and unique style of Agama yoga independently of an Agama Yoga branch.
After the graduation of this course, along with receiving a RYT 200-hour yoga teacher training certificate, you will be recognized and empowered as a teacher of the Agama Sadhana programs. However, you will not be an Agama yoga teacher - only students completing the 500-hour Agama teacher training course (ATTC) receive this title.
Every student will lead a practicum where they will teach a Hatha yoga class to their peers. An advanced teacher will supervise the class and students will receive feedback from their peers and their supervisor. Certification will be based on the student’s participation, teacher evaluation, and passing a written exam and practicum performance. A student graduating the 200-hour teacher training course is empowered to teach Hatha yoga classes consisting of the specific asanas they were taught.
Upon successful completion of the teacher training course program, you will not only be a certified yoga teacher, but also spiritually empowered by Swami Vivekananda Saraswati to transmit the teachings in the lineage of Agama to students around the world. Agama Yoga is a registered member of both Yoga Alliance and The International Yoga Federation, and graduates of this teacher training course are accredited to teach under the high standards of both organizations.
The Agama teacher training course certification provides the ability to teach one of the most profound yoga systems in the world, as well as have the support of international recognition in the global teaching community.
This newly established 200-hour teacher training certifies students to teach Hatha yoga and serves as the basis for students wishing to continue their education with the 500-hour Agama teacher training course or therapeutic yoga teacher training (TYTTC). If you think you may wish to participate in the 500-hour Agama teacher training course, you can save 100 USD by joining the program directly instead of registering for the 200-hour teacher training course and then upgrading.
