The island of Koh Samui is a small island located in the Gulf of Thailand in the southeast Thailand in Surat Thani Province. Koh Samui has two sister islands: Koh Phangan and the smaller Ko Tao. The main town is Chaweng, where you can find anything you need for your stay. Koh Samui is famous for sandy beaches, coral reefs, and coconut trees are present on the island.

The name Koh Samui derives from the word “samui”, meaning “sand bar” in the southern dialect, for these, are many sandbars offshore.
