Behind the beach forest Santa Teresa's main drag, runs parallel to the coast on a potholed and dusty dirt road.

The last years the village has seen a huge spike in development and constructions now spread up the hills inland from the coast. Many tourists who had just been on a surf vacation in Costa Rica got hooked and made Santa Teresa their new home. The cross-cultural residents created a multitude of new restaurants and hotels in Santa Teresa. The town of Santa Teresa is relaxed and, safe, and easy to get around for all the travelers. "This was my paradise on earth for a week. Thanks Lauren Rudick for putting this yoga retreat and additional activities together. Not only did I get to be taught yoga from you personally, but we got to go horse back riding through the jungle and on the beach, drove ATVs to go Zip Lining, then jumped off a waterfall and also got to surf all in one short week. This was an incredible experience that none of us will soon forget."

  • Review by Grace Cahill from Dublin, Ireland

"A 6-day yoga retreat with Lauren Rudick - the twinkly eyed Canadian renowned for her practical and light-hearted approach to the discipline promised everything I could of wished for. Meditation, yoga and travel in a city bursting with magic and mystery. There was also a chance of meeting ten other women with the same interests, who like me were on a mission to find more balance in their lives. I had no idea what the journey would entail but this was the challenge. Instinct told me to take a leap of faith. Laurens main goal is to practice love while practicing yoga - something she radiates in every form from the moment she wakes up in the morning and to push your-self without punishing yourself."

Thank you Lauren Rudick!"

"Its amazing getting into postures with you. Whereas portraying a posture and doing it is many times frustrating, traveling into it is joyful, and this is how I feel in your classes. Its like I dont care about the final position, without even thinking about it - voila! Im there. Your freedom practicing yoga spreads in the room like tiny particles landing along our bodies"
