Santa Teresa has endless miles of coastline for walking and some world-class surfing places to catch the waves. With the jungle bordering the beach, this place is serenely stunning. Santa Teresa is a paradise located on what continues to be voted on Trip Advisor, one of the worlds nicest beaches around the world and a melting pot of different cultures from all over the world, each trying to bring their scene to tropical beach paradise. Argentineans, Israelis, Italians, North Americans, Brazilians, Canadians, French, and Dutch, all quickly becoming neighbors and business owners in this slice of Costa Rica.

For the best pacific sunsets go to Mal Pais, Santa Teresa, the famous surfer's paradise, where people from around the world gather to challenge Playa Carmen's heart pounding surf breaks and enjoy the beach and night life. Growing rapidly in the last ten years, it not only attracts surfers but party people and investors from around the world. Playa Hermosa, further north is more difficult to get to, and has fewer facilities. Since there are no high-rise buildings at Santa Teresa, the coastline still looks pristine, backed by jungle covered hills and with a long sweep of white sand washed by the pacific surf. Behind the beach forest Santa Teresa's main drag, runs parallel to the coast on a potholed and dusty dirt road.

The last years the village has seen a huge spike in development and constructions now spread up the hills inland from the coast. Many tourists who had just been on a surf vacation in Costa Rica got hooked and made Santa Teresa their new home. The cross-cultural residents created a multitude of new restaurants and hotels in Santa Teresa. The town of Santa Teresa is relaxed and, safe, and easy to get around for all the travelers. Nature, seclusion, an unspoiled sandy beach, and abundant fresh fruits and vegetables create the perfect setting for a world class yoga teacher training.
