The Association of Yoga and Meditation is providing a 200-hour yoga teacher training with the aim of teaching ancient traditional yoga to students. The classes are based on ancient traditional yoga and lead by a very experienced teacher. There will be three practice sessions on Hatha yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa, pranayama, and meditation every day along with one teaching practice session and two theoretical sessions on philosophy and anatomy. In Hatha class, the yoga master teacher will explain the meaning, method, alignment, and benefits of a hundred poses in the training course. The instructor will explain how to correct each pose with student involvement.
Module one will explain the philosophy, meaning, definition, and types of yoga. You will learn what is not yoga and answer the question, "Is yoga a religion?" You will learn about the classification, origin, and history of yoga, and the definition and different components of Hatha yoga.
You will learn about Ashtanga yoga and the description of its eight components as well as those of Ashtanga Vinyasa. You will discuss the anatomy and physiology of Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa, yoga sutra, Hatha yoga pradipika, Geeta, and Vedas.
On module two, you will learn about asana and its meaning. You will discuss the methodology of asana and its three stages according to Patanjali, their classifications and number, static and dynamic and their physiology, meditative and cultural asanas, their anatomy and physiology, methods, contra-indications, alignment, correction of the fault, the practice of over 100 asanas, and explanation of Ashtanga series.
On module three, about pranayama and its classification, you will learn about the meaning and definition of pranayama, the practice of the eight basic pranayamas and their variations, different types of breathing, classifications, physiological understanding of yogic breathing, and you will answer the question, "Does pranayama increase oxygen and life force?"
On module four, about meditation and its classifications, you will discuss the mechanism, challenges, procedures on how to prepare for meditation, short and long term, the time and place for meditation, different techniques, effect on body and mind, anatomy and physiology, and changing meditation techniques after three days of practice.
On module five, teaching and learning will be discussed. You will learn about the components, methods of yoga teaching, characteristics of good teaching, methods to improve, lesson planning, principles of lesson planning, the art of instructing during teaching practices, class and student management, feedback, and improvement.
Module six will be about shat kriya and their classifications. You will learn the definition of kriyas or yogic detox, the use of detoxification in healing, Jala Neti or nasal cleansing with water, Sutra Neti or nasal cleansing with sutra, Sankhaprachalena or GIT wash, and the physiological understanding of yogic detoxification.
