Why you should pause to learn yoga, even if you are not going to teach

Welcome to Bala Yoga School, where the very essence of youth, encapsulated by the Tamil word "Bala," forms the cornerstone of the educational philosophy. Here, they firmly believe that youthfulness transcends mere age; it is a state of mind defined by boundless curiosity, unwavering vitality, an adventurous spirit, and an enduring commitment to lifelong learning and unlearning.

At Bala Yoga School, they extend a heartfelt invitation to those individuals who resonate with the spirit of youth, those who feel the vibrant energy of youth pulsating within their hearts. If you're eager to explore the art of keeping that inner flame ablaze and yearn to share your wisdom as a teacher, you've found your sanctuary.

Nestled within the serene landscapes of Pemudran, Bali, a haven far removed from the touristy commotion. Here, you'll dwell in enchanting old wooden houses, relishing fresh and nourishing cuisine, and, above all, embarking on a profound journey of self-discovery.

This transformative course encourages you to dedicate your time, energy, and effort to acquire essential life skills while cultivating self-discipline for your personal practice. The program is approved and certified by Yoga Alliance, a globally recognized certification that sets the standard for teaching yoga worldwide.

They firmly believe that without an injury-free personal practice, one cannot effectively teach others. The approach is rooted in tradition, placing a strong emphasis on the profound aspects of yogic living, rather than simply focusing on asanas, as some modern schools tend to do.

Yoga, in its essence, is an esoteric philosophy that seeks to enrich the five dimensions of wealth/health in your lives. Asanas contribute to physical health, meditation nurtures mental well-being, and being part of a community of like-minded individuals fosters social health. Financial health is addressed by acquiring new skills that can be shared and remunerated, ultimately leading to spiritual health; and a deep understanding of your true self.

Bala Yoga School strives to create a sacred space where you can confront your authentic self, identify areas in need of transformation, and evolve into a new, awakened supramental being. Here, you will embark on a journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and holistic well-being, and they invite you to embrace this transformative experience with open arms.

This Teacher Training Course (TTC) is a holistic journey that prioritizes not only physical health but also mental and spiritual well-being. Throughout the course, you'll have ample opportunities to engage in various aspects of yoga, including:

  • Dhyana (Meditation): You'll learn and practice meditation, allowing you to delve deep into the art of mindfulness and inner peace.
  • Karma yoga: Through selfless service to others, you'll discover the profound satisfaction of giving back and contributing to the well-being of the community.
  • Bakthi yoga: You'll have the chance to visit temples and engage in chanting, exploring the path of devotion and spiritual connection.

This course is meticulously designed to nurture self-love, facilitate healing, and help you shed physical and mental burdens. As you fill your cup with self-love, it naturally overflows, enabling you to radiate love and positivity to those around you. Yoga will become an integral part of your being, effortlessly flowing through you.

So, why should you join this TTC or any similar program?

  • Self-care: It's an opportunity to prioritize your well-being and ask for the best for yourself.
  • Purposeful travel: If you enjoy traveling with a purpose, this course offers a meaningful journey of self-discovery.
  • Openness to new experiences: Embrace the chance to unlearn and create space for transformative experiences.
  • Digital detox: While not a formal digital detox, it offers a perfect excuse to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with your inner self.
  • Reflection and healing: Take a pause, step back, and evaluate your life from a distance, finding clarity and healing.
  • Mindfulness: Overcome overthinking and shift to a more positive way of thinking through yoga and meditation.
  • Wellness: Improve your mental and physical well-being, finding balance and peace.
  • Deepen yoga practice: Deepen your yoga practice, whether you aspire to be a teacher or simply want to enhance your understanding.
  • Healthy eating: Commit to a healthy eating lifestyle while exploring new cultures and traditions.
  • Self-care: Dedicate time to yourself and prioritize self-care.

Location

Dune Alaya, Eco Hotel is in Pemuteran village, located in the Northeast of Bali. Surrounded by an amazing landscape, with the Tiga Saudara (three siblings) mountains at its back and the Java volcano’s alley in front, it is a relatively new tourist destination, 124 kilometers (around 3 hours and 30 minutes from the airport) away from the busy and touristic south. Widely spared by the effects of tourism, the village has so far preserved its original character.

The Beach is just 1 kilometers away and the area around the hotel invites for walks along the foot of the mountains and the original parts of the village. There is a great choice of activities in Pemuteran and its surroundings, like diving and snorkeling at the bio-rocks or Menjangan Island, temple tours, bird watching, trekking, or traditional Balinese massages.

At Dune Alaya, your soul will instantly feel at ease, in peace and harmony with yourself and the natural environment. The stay with them will give you a hands-on, relaxing, and personal experience in the real Bali. Aham- just be and find the way back to yourself. The main recreation is obviously to practice yoga but Pemuteran is also the ideal location to discover the coral and underwater wildlife, the mountain of Bali National Park, and the traditional Balinese lifestyle.

Trekking

Trekking at Bali National Park, temple tours, bird watching, kayaking, cycling to a nearby waterfall, mangrove tours or simply sunbathing on the beach (1 kilometer away), Dune Alaya has it all.

Dining

Pemuteran offers also a great deal of restaurants and some of them offer free Wi-Fi. Try out the traditional taste of Bali at Santai Warung, the superfood and vegetarian or vegan food at Satia Warung, fresh coconut water, western food, or a great veggie burger at Selini Bakery, which are just a few examples for your lunch or dinner.

Diving

Snorkeling and diving in Pemuteran Bay or at the world-famous Menjangam island in Bali National Park. Pemuteran is a diving and snorkeler paradise but it is also hosting, a unique coral conversation project using photovoltaic generators or devices using waves or wind generators to create a self-sustainable system using green energy to stimulate the coral recovery.

This technology applied to coral reefs is called “Biorock” and one of the most awesome examples of its success is easily observable under a few meters of water in front of the village of Pemuteran.
