Program

At Bala Yoga School, they extend a heartfelt invitation to those individuals who resonate with the spirit of youth, those who feel the vibrant energy of youth pulsating within their hearts. If you're eager to explore the art of keeping that inner flame ablaze and yearn to share your wisdom as a teacher, you've found your sanctuary.

Nestled within the international community of Auroville, a haven far removed from the touristy commotion. Here, you'll dwell in enchanting old wooden houses, relishing fresh and nourishing cuisine, and, above all, embarking on a profound journey of self-discovery.

Join Bala Yoga School for this meticulously curated 22-day Teacher Training Course (TTC) where you will delve into the limitless potentials of youthfulness while immersing ourselves in the art of teaching. At Bala Yoga School, the philosophy centers on nurturing not only the teacher within but also fostering the spirit of the eternal learner.

This transformative course encourages you to dedicate your time, energy, and effort to acquire essential life skills while cultivating self-discipline for your personal practice. This program is approved and certified by Yoga Alliance, a globally recognized certification that sets the standard for teaching yoga worldwide. Bala Yoga School firmly believe that without an injury-free personal practice, one cannot effectively teach others. Their approach is rooted in tradition, placing a strong emphasis on the profound aspects of yogic living, rather than simply focusing on asanas, as some modern schools tend to do.

Yoga, in its essence, is an esoteric philosophy that seeks to enrich the five dimensions of wealth/health in our lives. Asanas contribute to physical health, meditation nurtures mental well-being, and being part of a community of like-minded individuals fosters social health. Financial health is addressed by acquiring new skills that can be shared and remunerated, ultimately leading to spiritual health - a deep understanding of our true selves.

Bala Yoga School strives to create a sacred space where you can confront your authentic self, identify areas in need of transformation, and evolve into a new, awakened supramental being. Here, you will embark on a journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and holistic well-being, and they invite you to embrace this transformative experience with open arms.

This Teacher Training Course (TTC) is a holistic journey that prioritizes not only physical health but also mental and spiritual well-being. Throughout the course, you'll have ample opportunities to engage in various aspects of yoga, including:

  • Dhyana (Meditation): You'll learn and practice meditation, allowing you to delve deep into the art of mindfulness and inner peace.
  • Karma Yoga: Through selfless service to others, you'll discover the profound satisfaction of giving back and contributing to the well-being of the community.
  • Bakthi Yoga: You'll have the chance to visit temples and engage in chanting, exploring the path of devotion and spiritual connection.

This course is meticulously designed to nurture self-love, facilitate healing, and help you shed physical and mental burdens. As you fill your cup with self-love, it naturally overflows, enabling you to radiate love and positivity to those around you. Yoga will become an integral part of your being, effortlessly flowing through you.

So, why should you join this TTC or any similar program?

  • Self-care: It's an opportunity to prioritize your well-being and ask for the best for yourself.
  • Purposeful travel: If you enjoy traveling with a purpose, this course offers a meaningful journey of self-discovery.
  • Openness to new experiences: Embrace the chance to unlearn and create space for transformative experiences.
  • Digital detox: while not a formal digital detox, it offers a perfect excuse to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with your inner self.
  • Reflection and healing: take a pause, step back, and evaluate your life from a distance, finding clarity and healing.
  • Mindfulness: overcome overthinking and shift to a more positive way of thinking through yoga and meditation.

Location

Once a French territory, Puducherry, affectionately known as 'Pondy,' remained under French rule until 1954. Its wide boulevards and grand colonial mansions still bear witness to its French legacy. Attracting seekers of spiritual enlightenment, the world-renowned Sri Aurobindo Ashram and its spiritual commune, Auroville, lie just north of the city.

Pondicherry is famed for its colonial-era charm, offering a bohemian-chic ambiance where the New Age meets the Old World. The 'French' quarter boasts peaceful, pristine streets adorned with bougainvillea-draped colonial-style homes, thoughtfully numbered. In contrast, the newer part of Pondy is a bustling, typically South Indian scene.

Auroville, known as 'the City of Dawn,' captivates those with idealistic aspirations. It stands as an international community dedicated to peace, sustainability, and spiritual awakening, where people from diverse backgrounds collaborate to create a universal, cash-free, non-religious township.

Located about 12 kilometers northwest of Puducherry, Auroville was established in 1968 by 'the Mother,' a co-founder of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Nestled in the midst of lush jungles, it houses over 100 dispersed settlements inhabited by approximately 2,500 residents representing 52 nationalities, with nearly 60% being foreigners.

A visit to Auroville offers a glimpse into this unique utopian experiment, where you can immerse yourself in the serene surroundings, marvel at the otherworldly Matrimandir, and experience the warm hospitality of its residents. Additionally, you'll discover a plethora of excellent dining options in Auroville and its neighboring villages.
