Program

About the training

You will get to know about the different aspects of yoga: asanas or pranayama, kriya, meditation, bandha, anatomy, yogic philosophy, and the art of teaching.

The 200-hour yoga teacher training in Bali offers you a whole new mental, physical, or spiritual experience. Bali Yoga School accepts a maximum number of 25 to 30 students in the course. They ensure that the class is conducted in a pious environment and good enough to offer you a dynamic, engaging, and holistic experience. The whole yoga teacher training course is in English.

You should have at least a minimum understanding of English. Bali Yoga School has explored the yoga teacher trainings including the 200-hour multi-style Ashtanga, Hatha, or Vinyasa flow yoga teacher training in the exotic destination of Bali. During the training, you will get to learn many new things about yoga.

The course starts on the first day of every month at 5:00 p.m. with the opening ceremony and orientation program and is completed on the 23rd day of every month at 7:00 p.m. with a farewell ceremony. The departure date is the 24th day of every month before 12:00 p.m.

Investing in some books updates your know-how on the history of yoga, its philosophy, and so on. This will acquaint you with the subject and the evolution of yoga over time. The daily regimen to be followed during yoga teacher training in the Bali program, could start as early as 5:30 to 6:00 a.m. and end by 8:00 to 10:00 p.m.

The entire day keeps you busy with arduous yoga sessions under the guidance of the yoga expert teachers with theory classes to add to it and other such activities. So joining a fitness routine, adopting healthy eating habits, and reading blogs on yoga training experiences helps one to be mentally prepared before the commencement of the program.

Yoga anatomy and physiology

Comprehensive and deep study of posture anatomy, movements, and the key systems of the body. Learn how the body parts work and apply this knowledge for safe and effective practice and teaching.

Mastering the asanas (postures)

The course includes a deep practice of asanas (postures), Ashtanga yoga, and Vinyasa flow as well as its theory. Students are also provided with a separate class on alignment, adjustment, and teaching methodology as these are part of the training. This class gives enough time for students to interact with their teachers and find out the answers to their questions.

Yoga philosophy

Yoga philosophy in Sanskrit is called yoga darshan which means guiding students through the philosophy of life with the help of ancient yoga texts to the aim of yoga. The 200-hour course at Vinyasa Yoga School imparts teachings of the mystic sage Patanjali’s ‘Patanjali yoga sutras’ which teaches students how to live an appropriate life.

Meditation and mantra chanting

Mantras - sound vibrations that permeate every cell of your being and allow your mind to dissolve and repose. Meditation is that which gives you deep rest. Meditation is an activity in which the practitioner just sits and allows the mind to dissolve. The rest in meditation is deeper than the deepest sleep that you can ever have. When the mind becomes free from agitation, is calm and serene, and at peace, meditation happens.

Pranayama

The “prana” creates an aura around the body. It flows through thousands of subtle energy channels called ‘nadis’ and energy centers called ‘chakras’. The quantity and quality of prana and the way it flows through the nadis and chakras determine one’s state of mind. If the prana level is high and its flow is continuous, smooth, and steady, the mind remains calm, positive, and enthusiastic.

Ayurveda

Ayurveda is ancient knowledge that indicates the very measure of life, advising on the appropriate and inappropriate, happy and sorrowful conditions of living, and recommending practices auspicious for longevity.

Food

Food is an important element and life-giving energy to the human body. The quality and types of food impact your physical and mental well-being. From a yogic perspective, food is much more than just a nutrition to the physical body.

As a full-fledged yogic practice demands a proper supplementation of the body with nutrients, the energetic aspect of nutrition is also to be taken into consideration while determining your choice of diet. Have you ever observed the impact that your food intake has been having on your practice of yoga?

The concept of Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga, enlightens you on the impact of different foods on your overall physical, spiritual, and mental well-being.

As per Ayurveda, “Sattva” denotes purity in the quality of self-control and spiritual well-being as apparent in the form of intelligence, virtue, awareness, and happiness. Thus sattvic foods, promote purity in terms of both mind and body. They help nurture the mind and make it clear, filled with compassion, and keep calm. A sattvic diet aids in sharpening your intellect.

According to the Bhagavad Gita, the sattvic diet is said to be light and easy to digest. Being enriched with prana or purity, it fosters positive thoughts and satisfaction of the mind. Following such a diet can keep you alert, refreshed, and peaceful. Following the teachings of Ayurveda, the students are provided with tasty vegan meals three times a day for the duration of the course.
