The bamboo beach bungalows on Patnem Beach are designed to blend beautifully with the breathtaking natural surroundings. Built on the fine white sand every season after the monsoon rains, using local organic materials, Bamboos bungalow-style beach huts are simply stylish, comfortable, private and eco-friendly.

Located directly behind the ocean shala and beachfront lounge, and just steps away from Patnem Beach, Bamboos boutique bungalows are designed to help you reconnect with nature. Whether watching the eagles soar overhead from the hammock on your balcony, or falling asleep to the sound of the waves, the normal stresses of life melt away and you will feel open to a more profound yoga practice.

Each bungalow beach hut at Bamboo Yoga Retreat Goa has one double or two single beds with comfortable European-style mattresses, good linens and mosquito netting, set in a spacious airy room with plenty of space to hang your clothes and store your belongings. Constructed to make use of the natural ventilation from the cooling sea breeze, they also have ceiling fans for more tropical times of year. Attached bathrooms with western-style toilets are open to the sky for the magical experience of showering under the stars.

All of the bungalows have beautiful natural panoramas views / sea view overlooking Patnem Beach. You can choose between a beachfront sunset bungalow, an ocean mountain bungalow, and an ocean temple bungalow, which is quieter at night with its peaceful garden setting. You can book a private room or you can share with a friend. Teachers will match yogis for room sharing on retreats.

Regular housekeeping is available, with fresh linens on request, although you are advised to bring your own towels for the beach. The bungalows can be locked when you go out, and free Wi-Fi is available in the lounge area.

This training allows you to teach and delve deeper into the practice of Yin yoga. It can also be a starting point for the 300-hour Yin Fascial yoga certification, which is registered as a Continuum Education certificate program by the Yoga Alliance International.

Certification

On successfully graduating the course, you will receive the Green Lotus certification and the 50-hour Yin Fascial yoga certification. You are also eligible to apply to Yoga Alliance UK and US to be able to use the title of registered yoga teacher (RYT) as a symbol of quality training.

Please note that this 50-hour certificate combines 40 contact hours and 10 non-contact hours.

This teacher training course will be held in Patnem, Goa, India. Goa is Indias smallest - and some would say most friendly - state, boasting some of the best beaches in Asia. However, its not just sand, sea and sunsets. Goas mix of Indian and Portuguese heritage means that you will find white churches poking out from the coconut palms alongside Hindu temples. Patnem Beach is a very safe place for guests to arrive alone and go out at night.

Whilst some of north Goa has suffered from over-development, the far south is still unspoiled, with its lush mountain range, beautiful backwaters and long golden beaches. It is against this peaceful tropical backdrop in Goa that Bamboo runs its yoga holidays and retreats.

Pantem Beach

You will find the Goa yoga resort at the far southern end of Patnem Beach, in the Canacona state of south Goa. It is close to the acclaimed Agonda Beach and one beach down from famous Palolem, with its wide selection of souvenir stalls, restaurants, and nightlife.

Local town Chaudi, a five-minute drive away, has banks and ATMs, a supermarket, well-stocked chemists, and a colourful Saturday fruit and vegetable market.

The Patnem high street has a useful mix of internet cafes, money exchange and travel agents, and shops selling clothing and souvenirs alongside everyday essential such as toiletries.

Whilst social life in Patnem mostly consists of some sunset cocktails at one of the beach shacks, with occasional live music nights, there are regular headphone parties in Palolem, and a weekly night with international DJs at Leopard Valley - an incredible outdoor club in the jungle on the way to Agonda beach.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Goa International Airport (GOI), also known as Dabolim Airport, where both international charter and domestic flights land. Recommended airlines include Jet Airways, Qatar, and Emirates. Bamboo Yoga Retreat can arrange an airport pick-up at an additional cost. A two way transfer costs around 50 EUR for a normal size car.

Arrival by bus

Buses navigate Indias rather bumpy roads to Goa from all the major cities, such as Mumbai and Bangalore, as well as via popular tourist destinations including Hampi and Gokarna. Chaudi has a bus station, although you may need to get a local bus from Margao. Make sure you get a sleeper bus for overnight journeys.

Arrival by train

Canacona has a train station just 10 minutes away from Patnem by rickshaw, although many faster trains only call at Margao (Madgaon) station, an hour drive away. Indias trains are an economical and exciting way of covering longer distances, if you plan on extending your holiday with a visit to Kerala or are ending a hectic north India trip with some relaxing and rejuvenating yoga.

You can book a pre-paid taxi at the airport or at Margao train station. They usually offer fair and fixed rates.
