A tranquil sanctuary

Tranquil Eco Lodge is a retreat space immersed in nature dedicated to education, health, and wellness.

The space has been intentionally designed by host Lourdes, who having participated in many retreats herself, felt called to create a space where these could take place.

From Tranquil Eco Lodge: The mission is to share with the world this magical sanctuary home of Tranquil Eco Lodge and build a community focused on mind, body and spiritual healing. The work embodies the radical notion that your actions as humans can regenerate the health of mind, body and the health of the land and sea.

Why study with Breath Body Earth

They study the physical practice of yoga (asana) through Vinyasa and Hatha-style approaches. Their teaching style has evolved from exposure to many talented and powerful teachers who have encouraged them to not only focus on the physical but also dive deep into philosophy and adapt it for modern-day living. The subtle, unexplainable, and mystical are important to them. They explore the body from anatomical and energetic perspectives, studying alignment, anatomy, the chakras, and the power of the breath.

The path of yoga is ultimately the path of union. In this 300-hour yoga teacher training, you will deepen your feeling of connection; to each other, to spirit, and the earth. Your development is important to them and they want to support you by offering one-on-one mentorships for their students during the training and three months after the course to help you realize your goals and support you in creating long-lasting change.

Included excursions

Bird Island Excursion

Bird Island or Isla Pájaros is an island located opposite the north part of the main island of Bocas del Toro, Colon. The island is not accessible by foot but seeing it from a boat is an incredible spectacle. Breath Body Earth will pick you up by boat from Tranquil Eco Lodge and take you to see the island from as close as possible.

Instructors

Rachael Haylock

Location

For this retreat, the organizer chose to host a training in the archipelago of Bocas del Toro as both of the instructors (Rachael and Melissa) have spent time there and feel a special connection to this part of the world. The retreat centre is on the water, opposite Dolphin Bay, a well known Bay for its dolphin population.

Solarte Island, where the Tranquil Eco Lodge is located is a rather unpopulated area, making it the perfect place for such an experience. Having said this, it is possible to access Isla Colon, the main island of the archipelago by boat within 20 minutes where there are great surf spots, a handful of vegetarian restaurants, good local options and even a small airport you can fly into from Panama City.

The archipelago is rich in breath taking beaches, mangrove and jungle, making it a great place to explore and look for sloths, who may make an appearance at Tranquil Eco Lodge.

Food

Meals

All meals will be 'family style', prepared by a local chef who will be cooking nourishing meals with vegetarian and vegan options.

Farm to table

Tranquil Eco Lodge grows lots of fruits and super greens like katuk and chaya, and root vegetables like taro, dashin, and yuca. Growing on site, they also have bananas, pineapples, water apples, mangoes, papaya, guanavana, guava, sour cherries, jackfruit, breadfruit, breadnut, avocados, and coconuts, as well as turmeric and ginger.

Extra sourcing

All fruits and vegetables will be sourced locally and they will be serving fruits and vegetables that are in season.

They will serve as much from their land and the rest from the organic farm next door as well as from an organic farm in Boquete.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Fly into Panama City and fly from Panama City to Bocas del Toro

We recommend sleeping one night in Panama City in case your flight is delayed as the airport from which flights go to Bocas is a taxi ride away from the International Airport. Casco Viejo - the old town, has plenty of affordable hostel and hotel options.

  • Pros: You get to see Panama City, Casco Viejo and the Cinta Costera are nice areas to walk around and explore.
  • Cons: The flight from Panama City to Bocas has a smaller cabin bag option so best if you’re travelling light.

If you’re on a budget you can also get an overnight bus from Panama City to Almirante and then get a boat to Isla Colon, the main island of Bocas del Toro.

Fly into San Jose Costa, Rica and travel by land to Puerto Viejo, cross the border into Panama by land with a shuttle company and then get the boat to Isla Colon, the main island of Bocas del Toro.

  • Pros: Puerto Viejo is a lovely Caribbean town worth visiting and arriving to Bocas by boat is a special experience.
  • Cons: The journey from San Jose to Puerto Viejo can take a few hours so this is a better option if you have time.

Once you’ve made it to Isla Colon, the main island of Bocas del Toro, Solarte, the island where we will be staying is just one boat ride away.

Breath Body Earth will be organising a boat for everyone to come together on the 24th of April. We recommend arriving to Bocas on the 23rd and staying the night. There are plenty of hostels and hotels on Bocas too.

Airport: Bocas del Toro "Isla Colón" International Airport Airport transfer available: Bocas del Toro "Isla Colón" International Airport (US$ 20 per person) Additional charges may apply. You can request this in the next step.
