Yoga teacher training eligibility

  • Any Indian or foreigner who has interest in learning ancient traditional yoga and its applied science, with the ability to follow the instructions and lectures in English.
  • The applicant should be between 18 to 70 years old at the time of admission.
  • The applicant should be in a reasonably good health condition as the course schedule is busy, with at least four hours of physical practice and the remaining class time for lectures, meditation, chanting and other activities each day.

Orientation meeting

The opening fire ceremony and orientation meeting will take place on the first day training, starting at 3 p.m. to ensure students know where classes are to be held. This is also to familiarize each student with the course facilities and to allow them to meet each other and their teachers. Student attendance at the orientation day is mandatory.

Code of conduct

You will practice four hours of asanas (yoga of varying types) each day. One should be prepared for physical activity and willing to follow the instructor despite their personal experience or preference. Our course is carefully designed by highly experienced professionals to teach many different styles of yoga. Our students must commit to take part in each variety without challenging the instructors.

95% attendance is mandatory. Participants must follow the schedule and attend all physical, theory, and practical classes as well as yoga activities. Tardiness is not tolerated and anyone repeatedly interrupting classes or diminishing the experience of other students will be dismissed from the ashram without refund.

Chandra Yoga International is happy to explain these terms and conditions further, however they are non-negotiable. Those demanding exceptions or behaving inappropriately toward our students or staff will be dismissed from the ashram immediately without refund.

  • Dr Sushil Yogi

    Dr. Sushil Yogi was born in Haridwar, in the foothills of the Himalayas on the holy banks of the Ganges. The founder of this organization, he is a highly qualified yoga teacher. His credentials include a Ph.D. (Doctrate) in yoga, two years masters degree in human consciousness and yoga science (M.Sc.), a one year post graduate diploma in yoga, a one year diploma in Vedic Karmkand, and a three year B.Sc. degree from Gurukul Kangri University, in Haridwar, India.

  • Yogacharya Amit

    Yogacharya Amit practicing yoga since 2003. Amit is also running a social firm NGO named "Happy Faces Foundation". This NGO is working for education of children in backward areas in India.

  • Yogi Devendra

    Yogi Devendra is a multi-style Yoga Teacher who has a great outlook towards his teachings. He is a trained hatha yoga teacher. He has done diploma and certificate courses in Yogic Sciences and now he has completed his Masters in Yogic Sciences as well. Apart from being a trained Hatha Yoga teacher, he is also well in Ashtanga-Vinyasa flow. His diversity of this multi-style teaching makes him unique. He has a long-term experience of training people and giving them the exact base in their practices. He is a person with a very cool behavior towards his work and a dynamic personality.

  • Chitrangana Ji

    Chitrangana Ji has been involved in the teaching of yoga in India since 2008, she had granted her extensive knowledge in Pranayama & meditation, and yoga philosophy to numerous students and has inspired many onto a deeper path of yoga exercise.

  • Dr. Rakesh

    Yogi Rakesh is an Anatomy & Philosophy Teacher. He has completed Diploma in Anatomy & Philosophy and Diploma in Ayurveda as well. ⇒ His skill of explaining his knowledge to students is extremely great.

This YTTC course is run at the enlivening ambiance of Yoga Niketan Ashram which is equipped with a hygienic community kitchen serving nutritious, pure, vegetarian Sattvic and yogic food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You will be served unlimited fruit and porridge for breakfast, and healthy Indian cuisine for lunch and dinner. The menu is set.

Arrival by airplane

The nearest airport is in Dehradun (Jolly Grant Airport) (DED) about 43 kilometers away. Another international airport is IGI Airport, New Delhi. The city, Rishikesh, is situated 240 kilometers north of New Delhi. It is connected by road, train, and air.

It is recommended to fly into Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in Delhi.

Another option is to fly into Jolly Grant Airport (DED) (also known as Dehradun Airport) from New Delhi.

Arrival by bus

Rishikesh is 6 hours (250 kilometers) by bus from New Delhi. Buses depart regularly throughout the day from near the ISBT.

Arrival by train

Trains, including the luxurious Shatabdhi Express with its meal service and air conditioning, arrive at Haridwar; an hour by bus or taxi to Rishikesh.

Arrival by taxi

Traveling to and from the Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) to Rishikesh is your financial responsibility, however Chandra Yoga International are happy to book a taxi for you. If you'd like for them to do so, please forward your flight information to them and they will send a driver to pick you up. Look for your name on a sign at the airport.

If you prefer to travel another way, it is your responsibility to arrange and pay for the travel separately. The taxi ride from the Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) to Rishikesh takes about 5-7 hours and costs aproximatively 65 USD.

It is about a 30-45 minute drive from Dehradun to Rishikesh. If you would like, Chandra Yoga International can also arrange a taxi to bring you from the Jolly Grant Airport to the school for 12 USD (800 IN).
