This is an intensive teacher training course given by a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School (RYS) with 16 days of classes. At La Casas Shambala, there are small class sizes of 20 people maximum to ensure a deeply personal experience. There is a great mix of yoga styles with a focus on Hatha and Vinyasa to teach unification, Yogic theory and philosophy, strong foundations, good alignment as well as moving through posture and breathing.
La Casa Shambala’s methods of teaching are interactive, focusing on a fully immersive yoga experience, teaching, and group dynamics. This course includes methods of reflective self-analysis as well as a proper diet, all in a lovely, private Thai-style home. This will allow you to enjoy and evolve in the perfect environment for your study. Whether you are just starting your journey or if you are a student who is already teaching and wants to deepen your knowledge, this course is perfect. You will sleep in cozy bamboo huts. Private bungalows are available. Shared bungalows are for only two people.
There are shared bathrooms and shower facilities on site. Included in the accommodation are a fan, a comfortable mattress, pillows, and fresh linens. Each unit has its electrical socket for the ease of charging devices and, of course, free Wi-Fi. Electricity and water are included and toilet paper will be provided.
Upon completion of this yoga teacher training, students are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®). Registration with Yoga Alliance provides a globally recognized credential.

Sara was introduced to the yoga and Reiki path in 2008 by a friend. Very quickly yoga became a way of life. In 2013, she became a yoga teacher, training in the wisdom of the Himalayas, and then completed Reiki lol. Since then, she has been studying and exploring yoga philosophy. She is currently leading yoga teacher trainings and doing regular sessions as Reiki, chakra balancing, crystal healing, and massages. She teaches yoga classes, focusing on prana, strength, relaxation, body awareness, groundedness, and heart-centering, offered in an accessible and playful way, with devotion and love.
Karen has been teaching yoga for over 3 years, after leaving her corporate job in the UK. She has practiced and taught in places like Thailand, India, Malaysia and London. She has co-led and assisted in various Teacher Training courses and led yoga alignment workshops and wellness retreats. There is a holistic approach to her practice, where breath work, body awareness and mindfulness are always encouraged. Her classes are alignment based, with variations and modifications to suit all levels. Karen currently teaches Vinyasa Flow, Hatha/Alignment and Yin Yoga.
Eda discovered Reformer Pilates 10 years a go, as “cure” for her small degree of scoliosis. R.P helped her gain an enormous body-awareness about the key adjustment principles. She started practicing Ashtanga Mysore Yoga short after. Since then she has been following world wide teachers to deepen her practice. She had practice with different lineages of teachers such as Sivananda, Iyengar School, Jivamukti School& Pattabi Jois Institute She teaches HIIT Yoga, Power Yoga, Vinyasa, Hatha, Restorative/Yin. Her main focus is to nestle an innovative and fun flow with technique and alignment.
Anna is an experienced, passionate, & motivated Yoga Teacher with over 7 years of teaching experience & 15 years of practice & advanced training in Classical Hatha, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Pranayama, Yoga Philosophy, & a variety of meditation techniques & mindfulness modalities. She’s committed to providing extensive holistic training, while guiding students to live in authentic alignment with their inner being. She is adept in creating powerful teaching plans that supports an environment where students cultivate inner peace, physical health, & the mental/emotional capacity to live their best life.
La Casa Shambala is located in the village of Wok Tum on the island of Koh Phangan in Thailand. The home is very secluded, tucked away, and surrounded by gardens and lush jungle. Koh Phangan is a lush green haven with a strong yoga culture. You will find a wide variety of like-minded souls here and La Casa Shambala welcomes all new additions.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served on class days with dinner on check in as well. All meals are healthy organic and vegan, served buffet style. There will be no food included on the day off (only one day) or on check out day but kitchen facilities are available for guests. La Casa Shambala may be able to meet any special dietary needs (including vegetarian meals) but please contact them in advance to see if possible. Additional charges may apply.
You will be quite busy with this program but if you still have energy left, Koh Phangan has many beautiful beaches, amazing temples, and adventurous activities such as zip lining, hiking, kite boarding, wake boarding, scuba diving, and more. Also, there are no spa treatments included but La Casa Shambala offers a wide variety of choices to add-on. Please book your flight to arrive at Samui Airport (USM). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request.
This will be the quickest way and then you take a ferry to Koh Phangan. The ferry will take about 20 to 50 minutes and La Casa Shambala can arrange this for you at an additional cost. A cheaper method is to fly to Surat Thani International Airport (URT) or Nakhon Si Thammarat Airport (NST) and take a bus to Donsak and ferry to Koh Phangan. The bus from either airport and ferry take about three to five hours and La Casa Shambala can arrange this for you, too. The cheaper way still is a bus and boat from wherever you are in Thailand. Times vary depending on your departure city.
