Join Jessica and Sea Marie for a 200-hour Vinyasa plus Ayurveda teacher training at the Villa Surya at Paradise Plage. Dfrost Almugar Surf House & Yoga does take a maximum of 14 trainees to ensure a maximum of quality for the YTT course.
Situated right at the famous Paradis Plage, one of the longest and most taken care of beaches in the area, surrounded by the anti atlas mountains with its protected forest zone; the boutique villa will transport you to another world with its exquisite handmade Arabic and Berber architecture, fragrant flowered gardens, charmful rooms, relaxing hot tub, sauna, and a kitchen full of oriental delights. The ground is made of the so-called beldi (natural) hand crafted stones. The handmade wooden beds have big matraces and you will sleep in 100% cotton covers. The rooms are equipped with different light systems to make for every moment the right atmosphere. Further decorations as shelves for storage, pictures, and mirrors make the room complete. Each room is decorated uniquely in a Moroccan style.

This training features anatomy, alignment, intelligent sequencing, history and lineage of yoga, chanting, sutra and text study, meditation, pranayama, mantra, practice teaching, the business of yoga, teaching and voice fundamentals, ethics, theming and music, and the how and why of taking the seat of a teacher.
The 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training gives you the proper foundation for teaching yoga. This professional certification training prepares you to teach safely, teach confidently and teach knowledgeably. You'll learn the basic principles, essential elements and inner awareness to grow your understanding and your practice of yoga. Teacher Jessica Winderl (E-RYT 500, AYT) from the United States is the lead instructor of the training, supported by Sea Marie Biladeau (E-RYT200), an experienced teacher trainer also from the United States. Completion of the Atman Yoga School Teacher Training qualifies a student to register at the 200-hour level with the Yoga Alliance. Approximately 50 hours of this 200-hour training are comprised of Ayurveda and yoga philosophy.
Art of Vinyasa
Vinyasa means to link breath with movement and in this training you will examine all elements of this practice. Learn the anatomy and proper alignment of yoga postures, understand the dynamics of Ujjayi breath, and explore mindful and intelligent sequencing to create a powerful, safe, and well-rounded yoga class. Daily asana classes will provide an opportunity to advance your personal practice as well as an opportunity for experiential learning.
Traditional yoga studies
Learn about the history and ancient practices of the art of yoga. Explore in-depth studies of some of the main texts that guide you as yogi - the yoga sutras and Bhagavad Gita. Ayurveda, which is a 5,000 year old healing modality and the sister science of yoga, will be studied and examined to learn why and how to incorporate these practices into daily life.
Learn how to chant mantras and sing kirtan as alternative ways to practice yoga besides just asana. And finally, practice various meditation and pranayama breathing techniques to deepen your yoga practice, balance your body and mind, and learn how to teach them yourself.
Learn the practical nuts-and-bolts of learning how to teach yoga and hold the space of a class as an instructor. You will practice and offer feedback on voice control and modification (intonation, volume, pitch), use of body language in a class, the art of assists, effective cueing and verbal communication, how to create a sense of community with your students, and how and when to demonstrate.
Learn what makes a sequence intelligent and how to create your own mindful sequencing. Explore the power of themes and music in a Vinyasa class, and how to gracefully weave into the classes you teach. Practice teach and offer and receive feedback, while confidently learning how to direct a yoga class. How to use props, modifications of yoga poses, and teaching to special populations will also be covered.
Each day of the training starts with an asana practice, followed by lectures, study, and group activities. After lunch, the afternoons are filled with pose and alignment practicum, teaching fundamentals, and practice teaching. Outside the group classroom hours, journaling, reading, homework assignments, and self-study are required parts of the training.

Daily breakfast buffet style and fresh juices; afternoon tea, dates, and nuts; fresh fruits once per day; and daily vegetarian dinner are included in the price of the retreat. Dfrost Almugar Surf House & Yoga Morocco prepares daily fresh vegetarian dishes from local grown veggies and fruits which come from an eco farm. It focus on a very healthy kitchen as doing an intensive course needs the right nutrition. The dishes are a variation between traditional Moroccan dishes and European ones.
For example; Indian curry with lemon, yogurt-mint cream, and fresh baked bread served with a mixed salad (this food will activate all your senses by tasting sweet/sour/spicy food); falafel in a salad wrap with tahini sauce and an amazing courgette salad served with a vegetable soup (classic oriental recipe); and whole grain couscous with vegetables and a delicious soup (Moroccan style)

Please book your flight to arrive at Agadir Al Massira Airport (AGA).
Agadir Al Massira Airport (AGA) is only a 30 minutes drive from Taghazout. Cheap flights are also available to Marrakech, making it a worthwhile stop for people who enjoy sightseeing and culture. Please be aware that Marrakech to Taghazout is about a 3.5-hours drive.
CTM or Supratours is recommended if you plan to travel by bus. They are the most reliable bus companies in Morocco and you can travel comfortably and with air-conditioning.
