This training focuses on how to intimately join yogic philosophy and asana practice, planting the seeds to successfully navigate life - on and off the mat. Specifically designed for teachers who have already completed a 200-hour teacher training program, this advanced training helps you dive deeper into existing skills and refine them into a richer and more fulfilling practice and teaching experience.
Mystical Yoga Farm is a self-directed retreat center and spiritual living community. Focused on self-sustainability and organic connection with the environment, the property strives to live in harmony with this sacred land. The desire is to heal the earth and its inhabitants through connection with nature and spirit, the source of all of creation. Conscientiously built to exist in sustainable harmony with this sacred land, Mystical Yoga Farm is the perfect place to heal your spirit and reconnect with your true self. Here at the farm, the property offers a number of comfortable, cozy, and unique lodging options ranging from shared dorm spaces to private bungalows.
Water is sacred and so is the majestic lake upon which the farm is built. In order to stay true to the commitment to sustainable living, the farm features a number of beautifully built and decorated natural organic compost toilets. By using compost toilets, Mystical Yoga Farm saves thousands of gallons of water each year and is able to repurpose the nutrient-rich waste by using it as super-charged fertilizer for the plants around the farm. If you have never used a compost toilet before, do not worry - Mystical Yoga Farm will be sure to give you the full rundown when you get here. It is easy! Before you know it, you will never want to go back to flushing toilets!
For showering, Mystical Yoga Farm has two solar-powered hot water bathhouses, each equipped with two private shower stalls. Unless it is an unusually cloudy day, it is rare that the farm runs out of hot water. That said, water is sacred! Mystical Yoga Farm asks all of the guests to take short showers and request that you bring only natural, organic, bio-degradable soap / shampoo / conditioner to use in the shower. The gray water system filters back into the earth and the runoff eventually makes its way back to the lake. Non-organic / non-biodegradable soaps contain chemicals that are harmful to the lake, as well as the plants and animals that live in and around it. With your help, Mystical Yoga Farm can continue to protect and live in harmony with this beautiful lake!
Upon completion of this yoga teacher training, students will receive certificate affiliated with Yoga Alliance. Registration with Yoga Alliance provides a globally recognized credential.
This training offers a rich palette of teachings for the body, mind, and spirit / self. You will study and discuss ancient philosophical concepts from the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, and the Ashtavakra Gita. You will delve into wisdom teachings from Tibetan Buddhism and Tibetan Heart Yoga. Each of these beautiful texts and traditions helps you deepen your understanding of yourself and how you engage in your world, to become better teachers and human beings. Throughout this 300-hour training, participants will establish a strong foundation in spiritual philosophy and wisdom.
Spiritual and philosophical teachings are joined by asana, pranayama, and meditation study and practice. Familiar asana poses and sequences are expanded upon, as you begin to understand the patterns of prana that are created by various body movements and breathing practices. You will explore pose variations, safe alignment, and pose and body-specific assisting and adjusting. Alignment is considered holistically, as well as how to sequence to safely get into poses and more advanced variations and transitioning between poses. Functional anatomy is highly emphasized, so teachers will leave with a working command of how the body moves. Daily practice-teaching opportunities with ample time for supportive feedback will build confidence and strengthen your teaching skills. Teachers will further leave the training with a greater understanding of meditation techniques and how to facilitate guided meditation.
This training even incorporates elements of acupuncture, herbology, nutrition, tai chi, qigong, tui na, and massage as well as Hatha, Ashtanga, Anusara, and other surprises to make it truly unique!
Notes: You can join this teacher training if you have completed your RYT 200-hour teacher training and have registered through Yoga Alliance. Graduates are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT 500.

You can take a boat ride from Pana to Santiago (45 minutes). From the boat dock, take a public boat to Santiago. All you need to do is say to someone ‘a Santiago’ and you will be led in the right direction. If you would like a private boat, it can take you directly to the farm. Public boats cost 25 GTQ (3 USD) per person and run every half hour. Private boats cost 200 - 250 GTQ and the last boat usually leaves at 18:00.
Then, you can take a boat ride from Santiago to Mystical Yoga Farm (5 to 10 minutes). Once you get to the docks at Santiago, ask around (you can always ask your public boat driver for help) for a private boat to take you to the Finca de Yoga. It is a short ride and should not cost more than 50 GTQ. You will know you have made it to the farm when you see the dock (with a white sailboat at the end of it) and the thatched roof gazebo-style yoga shala.
Other public boat rides are available from San Pedro to Santiago (25 GTQ) and from San Marcos to Santiago (35 GTQ). It costs 10 GTQ to get to San Pedro, where you will likely have to switch boats to get to Santiago for 25 GTQ.
