Mark's dedication to provide his students with the most well-rounded Yoga Teacher Training experience has led him to seek out the best Yoga Teachers possible. For the past three years, Mark has trained with Yogis/Yoginis who have directly studied with some of the greatest Yogis of the past 100 years, including: Pattabhi Jois, Iyengar, Sri Swami Satchidananda, Sri Dharma Mittra, and Swami Vishnudevananda. The knowledge he has gained from these many different lineages has allowed him to create a fusion that takes the best aspects from each path and combine them in a unique way that makes it easily accessible and digestible for his students. The result is a practice that is heart-centered, energizing, focused on alignment, and most importantly, attaining the goal of Samadhi!

In addition to yoga, Mark has an International MBA, served for three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Peru, and was a cheerleader at USC. Mark is currently completing courses that will certify him as a Health Coach and a Talking Hearts Counselor. Furthermore, Mark has certifications in Chair Yoga, and Reiki. His unique qualifications and experiences allow him to truly unite mind, body, and soul for himself, and to lovingly empower his students. Mark's greatest attributes are his ability to connect with people from all walks of life, share compassion & empathy, and knowing when to be goofy and not take life too seriously. Some of the wonderful reviews from Mark's students shine a light on what you can expect:

"I met Mark at my 200hr RYT in Maui, Hawaii and long after leaving the island, I was left with an impact that he had on my experience and life. Mark is an absolute light and like all good teachers do, he makes sure to share this light and passion with all he interacts with. His enthusiasm, expertise, and warm, welcoming personality is contagious and I felt bettered in some small way by every interaction I had with him. As a person with a science background and having worked in the healthcare field, I was always impressed by his knowledge and effort to educate to improve the lives of others around him, whether that be through lifestyle, mindset, yoga, or delicious vegan food. I cannot recommend his services with wellness in mind enough!" - Sierra, RYT 200 and Dentist in training

"Mark is a smart, kind and generous teacher who truly wants to see people succeed. It’s evident that he lives his yoga; he walks the walk with genuine enthusiasm and makes it known that he’s a student of yoga first and a teacher second. When it comes to instructing, he’s refined his language and knowledge in a way that makes it incredibly palatable...especially the deeper stuff. He’s not afraid to shift out of his comfort zone, especially if he knows it’s for the success and betterment of his students. He’s a true leader. No one falls behind or slips between the cracks when in Mark’s company. His check-ins and openness to feedback during trainings make you feel heard and respected. He recognizes that everyone is on their own path and does his best to ensure you feel better when you leave and more connected to this beautiful world we’re fortunate to be a part of. Two thumbs up, five stars, jazz hands + fist pumps for Mark." - Bonnee, E-RYT 500 and Yoga Studio Owner

"Mark was not only caring about my success, but he was caring for me as a person. Whenever I went to Mark during the teacher training, he always went above and beyond to help me in the best way he could. The best part was "the best way he could" was that he knew what he was talking about and was able to help to what I needed and more as needed. Recommended for a reason." - John, RYT 500/E-RYT 200 and Yoga School Owner

"Mark is a passionate and dedicated yogi who offers all he knows with an open and compassionate heart to his students. He is an excellent communicator, an empathetic leader, and a true disciple of the yogic path. He gives selflessly to those he trains, adapting his mentorship to the individual paths of his trainees, meeting them where they are both in physical practice and on their spiritual and emotional journey. I wholeheartedly recommend Mark’s teacher training and felt completely safe and supported on my journey with his guidance." - Jenn, RYT 200

"I highly recommend Mark to those interested in learning about yoga. He is devoted to his path and has a heart of gold! He makes you feel comfortable, he is encouraging, and even though some poses are challenging, Mark utilizes his great sense humor to diffuse the energy and make the poses more bearable. He is passionate about yoga and that enhances his ability to teach. It is his calling to share this wisdom." - Laura, RYT 200 and Herbalist

Mark believes in a holistic approach to yoga, utilizing the 8-limbs (Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, and Samadhi) to guide his teacher trainings, yoga classes and everyday life.

Focusing on Ahimsa (non-harm) Mark ensures that students feel safe and learn proper alignment to avoid injury during asana classes. The goal is to feel better than before you began and to ensure you can practice tomorrow, next month, and for years to come.

The path we will travel on this yoga journey is Hatha-Raja also known as "The Royal or Ashtanga Path" which utilizes the physical yoga (asana) practice to quiet the mind and prepare you for meditation. This is essential to realize the ultimate goal of yoga which is to unite the body, mind, and soul together; attaining bliss, and Samadhi.

There are many different kinds of yoga classes taught in studios today. Mark strives to provide students with proper exposure to a plethora of styles so that students may discover which paths resonate most deeply for them personally.

Asanas are a quintessential component of yoga and we will devote plenty of our valuable time together diving deep into the beautiful world of asanas. Students will practice and learn the key poses in each of the five categories of asana (standing poses, forward bends, backbends, twists, and inversions) and develop a relationship to both the form and the function of these different categories).

Trainees will also learn the alignment maps for each of the five categories of asanas through observation and experience of how the poses in each category share a common foundation, and how to build upon this foundation.

We will discuss how effective demonstrations in class can help emphasize an alignment or other focus for the specific pose or sequence of poses. Together we will identify your dominant style, and you will learning how to teach based on others’ learning styles. You will also discuss active vs passive language and the effective use of each; positive and conscious communication, and habitual speech and communication patterns.

  • Human physical anatomy and physiology (bodily systems, organs, etc.)
  • Energy anatomy and physiology (chakras, nadis, etc.).
  • Includes both the study of anatomy and physiology along with its application to yoga practice (benefits, contraindications, healthy movement patterns, etc.)
