Kaula Tantra yoga

With the rising popularity of yoga in the recent past, many different styles and teachings have established themselves. So what does the Kaula Tantra yoga practice offer you?

The sequence taught at the school comes straight from an ancient lineage and is based on the teachings of Bhagavan Shanmuka Anantha Natha. They work with asanas, bandhas, pranayama, mudras, and mantras. Different to other practices this series is practiced in a slow and flowing manner to build patience and awareness. Each asana is held gently for a period of time to allow students to relax into the posture. This way, each individual finds their own unique way of expressing the asanas without pressure of competing or ‘performing perfectly’.

Tantra yoga facilitators approach students as whole human beings and discourage ‘isolating’ or forcing muscles. Their priority is to hold a space of acceptance and love, with only little guidance where necessary.

Over time students learn to meditate in the postures to connect with the divine. This yoga specifically cultures the diaphragms and thus balances every area of life, including sexuality.

Through the Tantra teachings students learn about the energetic exchange between Shiva and Shakti, the two polarities, and how to integrate sexual energy into their yoga exploration.

Please note that classes do not involve nudity or sexual contact. In the advanced stages, deeper pranayama practice, bandhas, and mantra practices are incorporated to culture Kundalini energy.

Students will learn about the methodology of Kaula Tantra yoga through their direct experience during the practice. There will be time to share, after classes, different approaches, make questions, and dive into the understanding of Tantra yoga.

Students are given time for self-study, reflection, and practice teaching tantra yoga classes with each other. During the course of the training students also complete a written project.

Yogic walking massage

Derived from Ayurvedic wisdom this ancient foot massage was used to prepare warriors for battle as well as open and expand the physical and energetic bodies before the yoga practice. Working with partners it is a very effective, meditative, and intuitive way to give and receive before the yoga practice. The massage touches many important marma points as well as softening the muscles. You will also get in touch with a little part of the Ayurvedic medicine which is the base of this practice.

Students explore Tantra yogic lifestyle, philosophy, and arts. Together you will discover ways in which to implement the yoga experience into everyday life.

Durga’s Tiger dance

Durga’s Tiger dance is a form of movement developed by Iris Disse based on yoga energy work and different dance styles. It is yet another form through which students deepen their creativity and relaxation in body movement. The training also involves voice work and mantra chanting.

Applied Tantric wisdom

These classes are a powerful opportunity of self discovery. As the course is based on experience we will create active and participative classes where you will work on some of the main aspects of Tantra. Furthermore, there will be focus on working on specific chakras.

Meditation is fundamental in the Tantra yoga practice. You will see different approaches to meditation, learning to be present in everything you do and transform movement, breath, and creativity in meditation itself until the moment the “no doing” will become a sacred space where you can enjoy yourself

Shamanistic rituals bring art, healing, social thinking, spirituality together. That goes deep, symbolic connections with all. You are the mosquito. You are the nature that surrounds you. You can dance with your power animal, and talk to a plant.

It is knowledge which has the power to transform - body is spirit, spirit is your body, your body is the earth, the sea, the wind, the fire of the sun arising from the see. What does yoga practice has to do with shamanism?

Singing circles

By sharing songs in a circle, you invite joy, you celebrate life, and you connect to your inner vibration. You will explore songs and mantras from different traditions, using your voice as a tool for prayer and meditation.

You will explore voice work and liberate energy through it. You sing mantras to address different spiritual energies, you sing chants from all over the world to share these energies and to celebrate joy together.

This communication circle has been developed in the ZEGG Community where they have been doing teacher trainings since 2015. They create a social field that helps you to open to the impulse of life. You share from the heart and explore new possibilities in life. Any topic that emerges like emotions, personal development, love, community living, body symptoms can be shared and explored within the group that works as a spiritual community (Sangha). This process supports you in the path to self-knowledge, development, and transformation.
