The immersive nature of the training transports you to fully explore a yogic lifestyle in the wondrous tropical landscape of Sayulita’s beaches and world-renowned wellness community. The hybrid format allows you to complete 50 of the training hours at your own pace from home and 150 hours during two weeks with Evoka Sayulita Yoga School in paradise!
Hotelito Los Sueños is a charming boutique accommodation that offers a serene escape from the vibrant energy of Sayulita's beaches and plaza (town center). Its perfect location is less than a five-minute walk to the beach and town. The hotel’s yoga program, Yoga Los Suenos is the top-rated studio in Sayulita, with the largest practice area with two open-air palapas and where Evoka’s lead trainers offer year-round public yoga classes and events.
There is a limited number of rooms reserved at Hotelito Los Suenos. These rooms are first-come, first-served. You will stay in a standard queen room (fruit or yogurt breakfast and full vegetarian lunch included). There are more deluxe options and suites as well.
Having some prior experience with yoga asana is highly recommended. The ability to do intermediate or advanced poses is not at all required. Evoka Sayulita Yoga School suggests the trainee practice three to four yoga classes per week (any level of class) leading up to the training. This will ensure everyone has a solid and steady foundation of the practice and you can explore from a similar starting point.
The trainee should be in good physical condition. Yoga teacher training can require three hours per day of movement, so it is essential to be prepared. Your classes are accessible to all ability levels. There are no requirements to perform intermediate or advanced asanas. Classes offered throughout the training will be a variety of strong and gentle styles. Participants are encouraged to participate in activities suited to their experience level and can alternatively observe classes.
Yoga teacher training is intensive and requires dedication time and focus. Trainees must be prepared to commit to the program's schedule and coursework. Trainees must expect to be in class, working on assignments, and studying for 12 to 13 hours per training day. They strongly recommend trainees abstain from alcohol/substances during the training and follow an ayurvedic or vegetarian diet.
Students who complete the training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
The training consists of 50 hours of online study (self-paced, ideally completed before the immersion) and 150 hours of yogic lifestyle immersion in Sayulita, Mexico. This will be an intimate training with many opportunities to connect personally with your instructions. Evoka Sayulita Yoga School has three trainers, and you can expect a maximum of eight students per teacher. Depending on how far in advance you have signed up, you may need to dedicate anywhere from five to 20 hours per week to your prework.
If you do not complete the prework assignments before the yoga teacher training immersion, you can complete them at your own pace during or after the immersion. You will have about two hours each evening during the immersion, which you can dedicate to your online homework if you need to catch up. But it is better for your enjoyment and relaxation during the immersion part of the program to complete these assignments beforehand. Note: Your 200-hour yoga teacher training certificate will not be issued until these assignments are completed.
During the residential training, there will be a professional beach photo shoot for a headstart with marketing or just a wonderful memory of the experience, special events (with sound healing, live kirtan, movie nights, a nature hike, a beach clean-up, and other fun events that contribute to your learning and help you connect with the local holistic culture), and rest time (one afternoon off mid-way through training for relaxation or to enjoy Sayulita or you may also use this time to work on your self -study assignments if not completed before the program starts).
The schedule will vary, but generally, students can expect 12 to 13-hour days. There will be a balance of lecture, physical movement, meditation, and deep relaxation, with a variety of enriching activities each day for an enjoyable yet challenging pace.
This yoga teacher training prepares you far beyond the mat. Learn the skills and deepen your personal practice for healing and growth while expanding professionally into the realm of holistic wellness. Students will explore and learn to facilitate a variety of nervous system regulation modalities through yogic philosophy.
