There are literally thousands of yoga asanas to explore, including meditation, pranayama, kriyas, teaching styles, and not forgetting where yoga came from and its unique history. La Hospedería del Silencio Eco Centro resort has a number of wooden cabin lodges situated spaciously around the resort, each with its own kitchen, lounge and television area, and private bathrooms. Some lodges have a wooden terrace extending to the rear with a spectacular view of Sierra de Gredos.

Two types of accommodation options are available, double room with single beds, shared or private room with a single bed. You will also have the option of booking either room type when reserving a place on the course. You are recommended to book a double shared room to pair up with another student during the course, for mutual support.

All wooden cabin lodges are fully equipped with electricity, kitchen, free Wi-Fi, and air conditioning. The lodges do not have television therefore, it is advisable to bring a small device that will allow you to watch movies or your favorite programs if desired.

During this teacher training, you will have the opportunity to receive the highest standard of training. Starting at the end of the first week, you will begin teaching in pairs, then groups on the second week. You will also have the opportunity on the third week to give live training classes to the local community, giving a fantastic opportunity to progress as yoga teacher after the course.

This teacher training course is unique and stands out from the standard training courses. You will have the opportunity to start teaching from the first week, until you leave as a yoga teacher, thus building up real confidence and creating a stronger personality throughout the course.

The course manual consists of 16 modules, with an easy to follow structure giving detailed content and instructions. Each module comes with homework, which has to be completed on a weekly basis and given to the lead trainer. The homework will be accumulated during the course and given back during the final week to help with exam preparation. You will also have a day off training every Sunday.

This is an intensive 24-day yoga teacher training course, starting at 06:00 and finishing at 18:00, six and a half days a week. You may at times feel tired, sore, overwhelmed with information, and may experience ups and downs. Please feel confident that Free-Style Yoga will do its best to support everyone going through these experiences.

At least six months of yoga study and practice before attending this course is necessary. You will also be required to familiarize with the mandatory course books.

You will have to pass a standard written examination before receiving any formal certification for the course, at present Free-style Yoga has a 100% pass rate.

The course does not come with an automatic pass, the manual has been structured to ensure students receive the maximum key knowledge for taking the examination. However, if a you need a re-examination then this will be done on the same day with teacher guidance. You will also receive continuous assessments throughout the course and the trainers will be available for counseling sessions at the student's request.

This teacher training will be held at La Hospedería del Silencio Eco Centro resort in Caceres, Spain. La Hospedería is located on the doorstep of the Sierra de Gredos mountain range, which forms the largest part of Spain's central system of mountains with a number of rivers, lakes, small towns, and local wildlife including endemic species to the mountains.

Sierra de Gredos is a protected national park and is subject to strict park management policies including camping, litter, trekking, and tourism in general. The Eco Centro retreat is situated near the village of Robledillo de la Vera in a very quiet location holding a southwestern position from the Gredos mountains. The center has a beautiful location away from any highway or local roads, one kilometer from the nearest village with accommodation spaciously located around the resort.

During this teacher training, you will be served three daily healthy meals, tea, coffee, snacks, and smoothies. The onsite cooks will be serving up some amazing meals mostly vegetarian and vegan. The ingredients are sourced locally from bio-farms that use sustainable growing techniques to ensure all produce is bio-available.

Meals are varied and introduce an assortment of ingredient combinations, using tofu, sietan, and meat-free options. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated upon previous request. Meals will be taken at the onsite restaurant.


All guests will experience a variety of smoothie tasting workshops, for breakfast or to enjoy as a snack during the day. Smoothies are an incredible addition to any diet and you will be making colorful, tasty smoothies from locally sourced ingredients.

During your free time, you will have the opportunity to enjoy local trekking, swimming in the rivers, and natural rock formed pools, horse riding or simply relaxing at the resort taking in the local countryside, onsite swimming pool, or helping out in the gardens.

Trekking and nature walks

It is very important during the course to take a break from training, walking or trekking is a recommended option. Horse riding is also available at the local village where you can experience a day or half at typical Spanish riding stables.

At Sierra de Gredos mountains, you will have opportunities for walks and treks within the park itself including discovering the rivers that hold a variety of small lagoons with crystal clear fresh water trapped from the normal river route.

There are also plenty of chill-out areas where you can escape for a few minutes to the whole day to relax and recuperate during the course.

During this teacher training, massage and naturopathy treatments will be available at the center for an additional price, including various types massages, reflexology, and acupuncture.

Arrival by airplane

You can book your flight to arrive at Madrid Adolfo Suarez Airport (MAD). Another option is to book your flight to arrive at Barcelona El Prat Airport (BCN), Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS), or Malaga Galages Airport (AGP). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request.

On arrival into Madrid Adolfo Suarez Airport (MAD) you will need to make arrangements to stay in Madrid or go directly to the designated pickup point for international students, to be arranged closer to the course start date. Free-Style Yoga Alliance will arrange as a course group, transport from Madrid to Eco Centro in Caceres at a small additional cost.
