Hello and welcome to ‘Space Between Breaths’; an intensive 50-hour online Yin yoga teacher training designed to take your teaching to the next level. The course covers the principles of Yin yoga where you will learn the 14 skeletal segments, 10 myofascial groups, and 7 archetypes pose to enable you to teach all the Yin poses and adapt the practice to meet the needs of your students and their own unique anatomy. This training is highly comprehensive and practical and you will be required to submit homework throughout the course. Upon successful completion of the whole course, including submission of homework, you will receive your 50-hour Yin yoga training certificate of completion.

Program

Pre-application requirements

You will need access to a computer with video and sound, also a good Wi-Fi connection. Please also install Zoom to attend the live sessions.

Certifications

You will receive a certification of completion upon successful completion of the whole course and homework submission.

How the training works

This is an online Yin yoga teacher training and will take place from the comfort of your own home. All the training takes place via Zoom, an online conferencing platform. The sessions will be recorded and you will have access to them for up to three months once the course is complete. An email will be sent out with the required reading list and full course schedule.

The course is run over 3 weekends:

  • The first two weekend sessions (October 16th -18th and November 6th - 8th) are 16 hours of online learning as per the schedule (weekends 1 and 2)
  • The final weekend (November 27th - 28th) will be 9 hours of online learning and will cover Friday to Saturday (weekend 3)

Homework consists of 9 hours for the entirety of the course and will be in in your student handbooks. It is to be submitted up to 4 weeks of the end of the training, upon successful submissions and review you will receive your certificate of completion.

First weekend: Space Between Breaths: The Fundamentals of Teaching Yin Yoga

Second weekend: Anatomy of Yin Yoga - The Physical Body

  • Understand the key joints, bones and connective tissue
  • Learn how cells work and the importance of the fascial system

  • Skeletal variations for the individuals
  • Learn the 7 archetypes of all the Yin poses
  • Dive deeper into the Yin asanas; contraindications, prop usage, how and when to support with props, alternative poses if a student is struggling, energetic benefits of the poses, entry, and exit to keep students safe.

Third weekend: Anatomy of Moving Energy - The Dao and Meridian Theory

In this Anatomy of Moving Energy; The Dao and Meridian Theory for Yin Yoga, you will take a weekend dive into the Daoist theory and the relationship between the Dao and meridians for Yin yoga. You will learn about building practices to help move energy, how, and when to sequence for specific energy lines for both group classes and the individual. The role fascia plays in relation to the meridians.

  • Understand the basic premise of Daoist philosophy
  • Learn about the Meridian Lines; energetic qualities and how they manifest in the physical body
  • Learn how to sequence yin classes specifically for the meridian pairs
  • Theory behind how the Meridian lines are formed in the body
