7 Day 50-Hour of Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra Teacher Training Course in Beautiful Mallorca

Shanti Niketan Yoga and Wellness Retreat, Mallorca, Spain

Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra Teacher Training Course

The practice of Yoga is a pathway to profound happiness and health and its aim is to cultivate a balance between all the facets that we are made of. Just like everything around us, our existence is defined by the interconnectedness of opposing aspects, we are Yin and we are Yang. Yin Yoga is the complementing practice to the dynamic and muscular Yang yoga styles widely known in the West. Yin Yoga aims for the deeper layers of our body, working on the rejuvenation and mobility of our bones and all connective tissues.

Yin Yoga is soft, still and nourishing, cultivating receptiveness and inward awareness. While holding poses for a longer period of time, this practice provides the opportunity for connecting with the innermost self and for releasing physical, emotional and mental tension. Yin Yoga as a distinct style has been coined in recent decades by Paul Grilley but its underlying concepts are rooted in the ancient philosophies of India and China evolving around the aspects of health and energy.

Yoga Nidra is the practice of yogic sleep, an ancient technique rooted in the Indian yogic philosophy and brought to light by yogic master Swami Satyananda Saraswati. Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation, in which the practitioner is lead to enter a state of deep physical relaxation while remaining in an awakened state of mind. In a different manner but yet with a similar aim as Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra aids to release tensions on a physical, emotional and mental level.

Yet Yoga Nidra goes further and as release and relaxation are induced, it acts as a tool to restructure and reform our whole personality from within. Yoga Nidra is a scientific method that allows deep healing and the awakening of our creative genius. Therefore, it makes a highly valuable addition to the teaching of Yin yoga.

Shanti Niketan Yoga and Wellness Retreat is located on the eastern side of Mallorca Island, which is ideal for yoga practice. The word Shanti Niketan mean the house of peace. The retreat set up is in a peaceful atmosphere in the nest of a natural typical Mallorcan village, away from distractions and pollution, and away enough from beach and crowd. It is seven minutes by car from Cala Millor and Porto Cristo with it's "Coves del Drag".

The entire retreat is equipped with stone buildings, enough place to chill out, to meditate, or to be on your own when you required. The retreat area is made on about 20,000 square meters of land with a beautiful landscape full of pine, olive, lemon, and many other trees which nestles various colorful birds, butterflies, owls, and much more. The retreat is also a house for several small cute tortoise and rabbits who are naturally living there which are considered as auspicious symbols as per many oriental philosophies.

The retreat center is not a luxurious place to sit back and relax, but it is a place of peace, harmony, joy, and happiness in the lap of mother nature. Keeping in mind the best quality of teaching and service, Green Yoga International has a capacity to accommodate 20 to 25 students. Students have two accommodation options which are stone rooms and Mongolian yurt or glamping tent.

The rooms are comfortable, cozy, and will be decorated in a yogic way. The yurts are eco-friendly, with natural eco toilet, and showers. The retreat facilities include salt water swimming pool, juice bar, yoga shala, laundry service, outdoor kitchen and dining, reception, meditation place, temple, spa, and Ayurveda massage facilities.
