Whether you want to dive deeper into your understanding of yoga for personal growth, or you plan to forge a new career or life purpose, the RYT-200 foundation program will open your heart and mind to the healing practice of yoga with a comprehensive study of the 8 limbs. The Heartwood RYT-200 is a broad-based program that explores the most common pathways and methods popular in yoga today in an attempt to cross-examine and explore yoga's many diverse faces.
During this teacher training program, you will be accommodated for 17 nights at Heartwood Yoga institute which is a beautiful retreat center filled with nature and introspective spaces. Most of the students choose to spend most of their time on the property to focus on yoga and have much-needed secluded time from the busy world to convene with nature, dive deeply into yoga studies, and explore their inner life.
Heartwood Yoga Institute offers several different accommodations for those wishing to stay on the property, but there are also nearby hotels within five miles of the facility and a state park with campsites for those who prefer this option.
Heartwood Yoga institute has one dorm on the Heartwood site that houses 5 people in a spacious room with a shared bathroom. The fee is 24.00 per night. They also have a residency trailer with two private bedrooms. People here each have a private bedroom but share a bathroom and laundry facilities and have a little kitchenette and tvs. These private spaces are available for 35.00 a night). A second 5th wheel is also available for a private bedroom, but Heartwood Yoga institute reserve this for any males that register. This is because they do not do co-ed dorms. Males are charged the dorm fee for housing as they have no other option on site but the private RV room. Males are invited to reserve a space at the Heartwood house as well.
Heartwood plans to expand housing options onsite in 2023 but for now, their new housing option is the Heartwood House, a beautiful home 5 miles from the center (12-minute drive by car). A van will drop off and pick up students from this location daily and bring them to the center for the program, returning them at the end of the day.
This house offers single and double rooms and features a kitchen and living room for the group to gather in. The double bedrooms feature full-size beds with canopies with drapes for sleeping privacy, and the two single rooms feature a queen or double bed. All linens, towels and other necessities are available in the house. The rooms are spacious, luxurious and comfortable with memory foam mattresses and more. Students in the house share the 3 bathrooms.
The Heartwood house provides an opportunity to process and relax at the end of a day of study with a lovely saltwater pool, a sauna, a whirlpool, laundry facilities, a practice loft outfitted with mats and props for students to practice, and an outdoor kitchen & living space for relaxing. There is a TV in the living room for those wanting to catch up on worldly events, but space for quiet too.
The house is beautifully decorated in zen fashion and will be stocked with fresh fruit and snacks, juice, cereal, and basics for breakfast and snacks. Students are welcome to shop and bring in any food to the kitchen they wish to make them comfortable during their stay. The house is available for 8-9 students from the program per session and Heartwood Yoga Institute book air B & B style so you will have a close acquaintance with everyone staying.
Students who complete their subsequent training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®)
The similarities and differences of Ashtanga, Iyengar, Kundalini, Bikram, and other popular methods, as well as Power yoga, Yin yoga, Partner yoga, Aerial yoga, and more are researched. The goal of this approach is to widen the teacher’s awareness and understanding of the great diversity within the practice today.
This assures greater employment options and having a wealth of information to draw upon, which helps instructors recognize the difference between what is simply style versus differing structural or energetic philosophies. With a strong understanding of yoga's varying traditions, teachers are prepared to create more diverse and appropriate practices for the different populations they may teach.
The instructors are all ERYT-500 teachers, IAYT Yoga Therapists, Reiki masters, and RCYT, each with specialty training to add to the program. This program includes complimentary training in specialized areas (Aerial yoga and Reiki level one). Heartwood's programs offer a deeply authentic yoga experience at a remarkable facility for a paralleled value.
A full syllabus will be offered on the day of the teacher training program outlining how each hour is divided into practice, lecture, conversations, teaching practicum, films, posture focus, and more. This is an immersion program that covers a great deal of material comprehensively. All students are provided with the full program online with lifetime access to support their ongoing yoga education and career.
Heartwood Yoga Institute works from 09:00 - 21:00 with breaks, with an exception of Aerial yoga training weekends (where they get off at 17:00).
