Come, Immerse, Experience and Elevate!

This course serves as a stepping stone to becoming a successful yoga teaching professional. The training provides a profound insight into the teachings of yoga to all participants. Filled with fun, enthusiasm and novelty with a modern approach, the course is designed to boost the physical and mental capabilities of a student. The classes relatively vary from vigorous physically activities to less intensive and more restorative sessions. A yogic diet is recommended, beneficial to your health and fitness.

This course exposes the student to all the basic styles of Vinyasa yoga and flow yoga, upon which a student can identify the most suitable yoga style for him or her and proceed to explore it further. This provides students a vivid idea to decide upon the advanced courses they would like to take up in future.

You should join this course if:

  • You are not new to yoga and possess a basic knowledge of what yoga is.
  • You would like to improve your own personal practice Vinyasa or Flow yoga.
  • You aspire to acquire a deep insight into your understanding of yoga, its philosophy, anatomy, pranayama, Ayurveda and yogic diet.
  • You are passionate about discovering the yoga teacher residing in you inherently.
  • You would like to kick start your career as yoga teacher with success at your hand already.

The 200-hour yoga teacher training offers a profound foundation in every style of Vinyasa Flow, focusing on accurate alignment of the postures of the primary series. Your training course will begin with introductory classes of the primary series, progressing through a variety of multi style Vinyasa Flow as you proceed through the series. Technical workshops will help emphasize the crucial areas. These workshops are essentially rewarding in terms of assessing the visual progress that you make in your everyday training session. This serves as a reminder too about the fact that yoga is fun and interactive at Himalayan Yoga Bliss. This is in total contrast to the general view that everyone does have about yoga as dealing exclusively with self-discipline and concentration during the practice. Pranayama that teaches the breathing techniques is also included as a part of the routine of the daily sessions.

Classical yoga philosophy is intertwined all through the course. Patanjalis yoga sutras as well as the ancient history of yoga will also be introduced as a part of the course. This provides a clear distinction between the classic yoga and its contemporary approach along with their influences on our life. You will be encouraged to teach your peers during the second week of your training. You will gradually start by teaching each other on a one-to-one basis initially. You will then proceed to device and deliver your own lesson plan. The necessary tools will be provided for you to improve your teaching skills for every week. This would eventually facilitate you to prepare your own yoga class which you will have the opportunity to teach in the closing week. You will be assessed based on this in final week of the course. Usually, students consider the last week the most memorable part of their course as they showcase all their capability and everything that they have learned throughout the course during this week. Participating and providing valuable feedback in the classes conducted by the peers is the best means to learn the art of teaching. Himalayan Yoga Bliss brings together all the yoga enthusiasts from all over the world to continue the journey together.

The course structure clearly portrays what a successful student will be able to learn through the course. The following training hours are incorporated in the following educational categories as a part the teacher training courses:

I wanted to become a yoga teacher...

PROS Pros: I wanted to become a yoga teacher, and I could not have imagined a more meaningful and comprehensive training program. I learned a very broad array of yogic principles and practices and had opportunities to deepen my understanding of things I'd been exposed to prior. I've been practicing yoga for approx 10 years, and think I probably got as much or more out of my 200-hr training as those who were somewhat new to yoga. The way the information was organized gave a very broad and well-thought-out program for newer practitioners while also giving those more experienced increased depth. I came into the program with a lot of questions around why teachers commonly do particular things in yoga classes - saying sanskrit terms (which I thought was useless), chanting and "Om"ing, etc. I came away with answers to all of these and am excited to share with students the significance of these practices, rather than having people go through the motions. The studio was amazing. It is near the top of a Himalayan foothill with 180 degress of glass facing out into a large Darjeeling valley and overlooking the world's third tallest mountain. This program was perfect for me - I came to India to learn as much as possible during my month here, and Himalayan Yoga Bliss, Sonam and Mahadeva were awesome and incredibly knowledgeable. I can't imagine having done it somewhere else. I should mention that I don't think this is a training program for those interested in drinking/going out. We had a lot of opportunities to go out to dinner and explore (I even ate enough momos to rank fifteen of Darjeeling's momo restaurants - yeah, I'm a dork), but it seemed everyone there came to learn and practice yoga. We had plenty of time to socialize and get close to each other, and the group really helped each other along to maximize our experiences. I thought I was more-or-less checking a box to get my certification and didn't expect to be personally challenged in so many positive ways. I left the program completely ready to teach. I'm grateful for the experience.

"Overall, I was very happy with Himalayan Yoga Bliss and Wellness Centre’s 28 days of yoga in Darjeeling. The quality of teaching was excellent, the curriculum was well thought through, and the majority of my expectations were met. However, it is obviously a new school in India, so there are some points where the school could improve, mainly on student management and admin. I would recommend this course to a friend and attend again."

"We were very happy and grateful to enroll in the one month yoga teacher course with the Himalayan Yoga Bliss Center in Darjeeling in Sep. 2015. The opening ceremony for the students on the first day was such a nice cultural and spiritual experience. It also set the direction the yoga course would take on; the traditional Eastern approach with a nice blend of the western one.Our teacher and the founder of the center Sonam radiated beautiful energy and a deep sense of knowledge of yoga from the very first moment we met which allowed us to fully immerse into the course and begin to understand the true path to yogic life besides the physical aspect of it (asanas). We believe that understanding the philosophical and spiritual aspect of yoga is an essential part for any yoga teacher's training course."

"Incredible course, stunning location, divine teachers, amazing yoga and made some friends for life! I loved every minute of the TTC course with Sonam and Rakesh. They made us all feel so warm, welcome, loved and taken care of for the entire stay, like a second home. The accommodation and food was beautiful and the course was thorough and well organised. Such a perfect balance of physical yoga, meditation, philosophy and other activities, as well as some very special adventures. I loved that the studio was tucked away in a little mountain village, which really allowed me to focus on my practice and really immerse myself in the experience without too many distractions. I can not recommend this course highly enough, and I will cherish the memories I made here, and the beautiful friends I have made. Love and Light."

One gets a family feeling in this training, since Sonam (owner) is very interested in helping you to become a Yogi. Besides the course, we had awesome trackings with Sonam."

"I enjoyed a lot my 200 hours teacher training at Himalayan Yoga Bliss. From the first second of searching for a yoga teacher course in India and getting my first reply to my questions until finishing the course, I only had positive experiences. They have a wonderful team of teachers showing different aspects of yoga. My personal thoughts about yoga deepened more having been taught by our teachers and seeing different approaches there. Everybody working in the Yoga Bliss was very caring and helpful. I can only recommend this wonderful center."

"I just returned home from a 300-hour Teacher Training and had an excellent overall experience. The studio and surrounding area have a beautiful view of the Himalayan Mountains. Darjeeling maintains a small town feel despite is significant growth over the recent years. I found the staff and teachers to be very kind, knowledgeable and accommodating. Part of the yoga practice includes basic living standards, so as long as one comes to simple expectations and an open mind I can't imagine that it would not be a wonderful opportunity for anyone interested in self-growth and looking for a deeper understanding of what yoga is all about."

Attending school each day was like stepping into a sacred journey filled with ancient knowledge and profound wisdom bestowed upon us throughout each morning Samsung, asana practice, and philosophy class. I feel as though Sonam and the teachers are passing along the highest and most genuine messages of yoga that can be found today. The school provides you with all you possibly need to feel the "om" at the home, as you'll leave feeling nourished, cared for and rejuvenated with relationships and lessons that you'll keep with you forever. Darjeeling, with its lovely people and breathtaking views, is a beautiful setting for the yoga studio. The course is well organized with a good time spent on asanas, yoga philosophy, and teaching. I enjoy the temple visits, morning walks to gardens/hills, and outdoor practices that were planned into the schedule. The instructors and staff are knowledgeable and friendly, helping us in every aspect. The three meals provided are simple and satisfying. "I have just returned from this teacher training school after completing a 300 TTC . So let's start with the location set in Darjeeling with the Himalayas in the distance my hotel was basic but Cleen and tidy with hot water for showers a small kitchen and Wifi and just a short walk from the school and the town itself. The people of Darjeeling and so very happy to see you and warm and friendly lots of local shops big and small . And now onto the school itself the teachers are fantastic and even though we ALL did 12 hour days nothing was too much trouble and often used personal time to help and guide us. ALL the teachers are very knowledgeable about yoga and are more than happy to pass this on to the students. The food (3 times a day ) was always good and very yogic plenty of hot tea and filtered water always at hand. We had trips to local temples mountains and the trip to tiger hill was simply fantastic. To watch the sunrise was one of my highlights. Even after my return home, I can get help via emails or WhatsApp normally the same or next day. We had sixteen in our TTC and you make such wonderful friends with everyone that I hope to keep for life. I must also point out that I am a 60 year old ( big ) man and at no time did I feel not part of the group by teachers or fellow students. So in summing up Himalayan Yoga Bliss. I feel blessed to have found it my yoga both practice and knowledge have moved forward and now myself teach three four times a week so I now pass the light that was passed to me. If you want a TTC then yes this is one of the best"

"I was lucky enough to find beautiful Sonam and Himalayan Yoga Bliss to do my 200-hour YTT last October. The place, high up in the the tea fields of Darjeeling is the epitome of serenity, peace, and escapism; and serves as a great place to discover more about yoga, the Himalayan region of India, and yourself. The teaching course was fantastic, in depth, hard enough to challenge your physical and mental limits; but taught in a simple and caring manner. Both our teachers were great, and the locals, our homestay hosts, and everyone we encountered in town were so friendly. The course and town was not daunting to a group of India first-timers like us, but we really felt adopted by the community. I know one day my yoga practice will bring me back to Darjeeling and I look forward to returning here. I highly recommend this center to anyone lucky enough to be passing through. "

"I did a Yoga Teacher Training (200h) in the fall of 2015 at the Himalayan Yoga Bliss & Wellness Centre and I can only highly recommend it. The teachers are wonderful Yogis and Yoginis, knowledgable and caring. The training teached me to be open minded and opened up my heart to the large field of Yoga. Yoga is so much more than I thought it to be - and I am grateful to have been able to discover so many facets of it. They teach different style physical practices (we did Hatha, Ashtanga Primary series and Vinyasa Flow) and also a great deal of meditation, chanting and the ancient philosophy and history of Yoga. It has been an intense month of practicing and learning."

"I had the pleasure of studying under the tutelage of Yogi´s Sonam and Vishnu during a 200hr YTTC at the beautiful Himalayan Yoga Bliss studio in Darjeeling, India. To wake up for morning meditation and asana classes while watching the sun rise paint golden light across Kanchenjunga´s frozen peaks was an experience that I wont soon forget. I can not speak highly enough of the experience, knowledge and wisdom passed down by each teacher. The design of the YTTC was brilliant in its breadth, scope, and depth. The course was demanding and highly intensive and as such hugely rewarding. Obtaining my certification from Himalayan Yoga Bliss was a life changing experience, not just in preparing me to spread the ancient teachings of yoga, but also in helping to deepen and better understand my own practice. Whether a one time drop in or a advanced practitioner taking the TTC, Himalayan Yoga Bliss will surely provide some insight into your journey on the mat. Namaste, Ryan"

"I have learnt yoga in California as I was brought up there. So I was in search of a yoga institute that specifically matched the knowledge of yoga I acquired so far. After a thorough research, I have identified that the Himalayan Yoga Bliss is the only institute that can offer exactly what I needed. I was mainly looking for an institute which can deliver the courses in American style in professionalism, readiness, training modes, passion for perfection, attitude, quality of teaching; and on a broad perspective, their ability to inspire and motivate the aspirants which demonstrates the genuine love, any teacher may have for their subject. The faculties at Himalayan Yoga Bliss are dedicated and serve as iconic models for their students who wish to transform into yoga masters like their teachers. My expectations as a dancer are very high with limited resources and time. So I always want to ensure that I choose an institute that could deliver exceeding my expectations. The Himalayan Yoga Bliss did not only perform beyond my expectations. My learning and my expertise went deeper than just the physical practice of yoga, and most importantly it had a profound impact on how I envision life."

It was delivered in the most safest, integrated, and innovative means. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about not only about yoga, but also more about themselves. The course vividly demonstrated how to adapt yoga to my own style and enabled me to connect on a personal level to the practice. The classes and workshops are a wonderful opportunity to work with others, as they help to teach how to develop and sustain a personal practice independently."

Instructors are brought in from all different parts of the world for each training period, providing a wide scope of experience as each has their own unique teaching style to share. The director of the center, Sonam is a true yogini and has a lot to offer in terms of experience, knowledge, technique, friendship, and support. They couldn't have been more accommodating to our needs. We're a mixed age and experience group (some of us trying yoga for the first time). It's an attractive, clean, and well-maintained place, very reasonable at 300 INR a head and Sandra is a great teacher. It was spectacular for us to do early morning yoga here and I can't recommend it enough."

"I spent one month here doing my 200-hour yoga teacher training. We were looked after so well, with comfortable, clean accommodation, and healthy freshly prepared food! I loved the personal touch. This is not a big impersonal ashram and you're not just another cog in the Indian yoga machine. Instead, there is a lovely supportive atmosphere - more like a small family! I have no problem recommending this place. I've been raving about it to family and friends since getting back to Ireland. On a practical level, there was an interesting range of instructors, teaching various styles."

"After an ominous decision to spend a month and a half in Darjeeling, I was very much blessed with the proximity of this wonderful yoga establishment. The place itself is located on a lovely hill overlooking the most astonishing view of the second highest mountain in the world and its majestic surroundings. Combined with that, the beautifully made yoga hall with the windows that catch sight of the sunrise and sunset did it for me. All the classes in that hall were as inspiring and healing as the time of the day they took place, that is, during sunrise and sunset. I did yoga once and sometimes twice almost every day and by the end of my stay, I was as blissful as could be - in body and mind.Whatever people say, bliss lies within, and this place and its people were the perfect ground for inspiring that little glimpse of bliss within me! Thank you!"

"Just finished my 200 hour yoga teacher training here at Himalayan Yoga Bliss and it's been great. The food has been amazing, home cooked, and healthy! Great accommodation too. A high standard flat with two bedrooms, a living room, and kitchen. Really good teachers - professional and knowledgeable! I'm happy to recommend this place to anyone doing a TTC or drop-in class. The founder, Sonam and her husband are super friendly and welcoming. They really make you feel at home!"

"I did the TTC here in November 2014 and I had an absolute lovely time. I read the comment here about us complaining on the food and it couldn't be more wrong! We all loved the food we got!! I really enjoyed our teachers and the TTC. We were a small group of four people so we got plenty of personal attention and it was a relaxing environment. The studio is in an amazing location with a stunning view over the city and the Himalayas. I would definitely recommend Himalayan Yoga Bliss if you feel like doing yoga in Darjeeling!!"

"I couldn't recommend this yoga centre enough. If you're a seasoned yoga enthusiast then I predict this place can bring you along, not only through the beautiful surroundings but through the expertise and warmth of the staff. Or if like me, you are just interested, please head to the Himalayan Yoga Bliss and Wellness Center. I was made to feel like part of the family (having great food and conversation in the host, Sonam's, apartment) and most importantly, I wasn't made to feel embarrassed by the fact I was useless at yoga. Definitely the best thing Darjeeling has to offer - I've been here five months, and my only regret is not making the walk up the hill sooner."
