It has always been Ann-Sophie’s interest and passion to bridge the modern, scientific knowledge of the West with the ancient, experiential wisdom of the East. Being a medical doctor as well as a yoga therapist (C-IAYT), a yoga teacher (RYS-500), her expertise lies in the field of therapy and healing. She understands that health refers to all levels of the being and, as such, her teachings and treatments reflect a purely holistic and integrative approach. She is the co-founder of Samarasa–Yoga Therapy & Healing and offers teacher trainings and workshops around the world.
Anneke is an enthusiast of life, connectivity, and that what drives humans to evolve and aspire. This motivated her to pursue a career in sustainable business and talent development, which also fueled her passion for yoga. First as a practitioner and student, and later also as a teacher, she experienced the deep healing power of yoga on many occasions. Until finally her passion got the better of her, and from this, ‘Samarasa Healing’ was born. As a yoga and meditation practitioner and teacher, and a certified yoga therapist, she now offers workshops and teacher trainings internationally.
The castle is located in a quiet place in the Beaujolais region of France, they have forests around the castle and about half an hour's drive away, they have a beautiful lake to visit. Overall it is very quiet and really a place to go into a retreat and enjoy the course to its fullest. There is not much around, you can find a supermarket about 10 minutes drive away and there are beautiful picturesque villages with small cafe's dotted around.
The center is situated in a remote area in France, one hour away from Lyon, amidst a beautiful forest. You can go for daily walks to reconnect with nature and once a week, the team organizes (if there is a need for it) a trip to the closest supermarket to do some personal shopping.
