The historic German castle Schloss Schönfeld was built in the 19th century by Otto von Rundstedt and stands for elegance, nature and retreat. Since only two years the castle is hosting special events and provides a unique frame for your stay. There are 14 guest rooms, three seminar rooms, 80 sqm spa area, huge park and garden area with lake - all you may wish for for your pleasant stay. All spacious rooms are individually furnished and provide en-suite bathroom and toilet.

This course is an excellent opportunity to learn more fundamentals and traditional yoga. Indigourlaub offers an in-depth study of all kinds of techniques like asana (posture), pranayama (breathing practices), meditation, yoga philosophy, yoga anatomy, sequencing, and adjustments, developing a meditation practice for yourself and others as well as expand your knowledge of becoming a perfect yoga teacher in near future.

Although, they abide by traditional style of teaching yoga, they still have incorporated Sivananda, Pattabi jois and BKS Iyengar style into their teachings. They are highly influenced by BKS Iyengar, so props are included into their asana practices to ensure correct alignment and posture. Except for asana perfection using the props, our accent is on the focus of mind and regulation of breath. Every asana is utilized as tools so as to guide you gain your usual meditative state.

It will help focus your mind in more evocative ways which can deepen your practices. If your goal is to be a yoga instructor, you will gain confidence with sequencing, guiding principles of breath movement and focusing and complete knowledge of eight limbs of yoga as offered by Maharishi Patanjali through their philosophical class and different kinds of meditative session. They consider the practices of Ayurvedic living is very important and so they must be combined together with yoga to honor the advantages of yoga. They also have incorporated lots of teachings on the science of Ayurveda.

Syllabus of the 200-hour teacher training course

  • Yogasana (postures) minimum of 48 asanas will be covered
  • Advanced asanas (Hatha yoga tradition)
  • Advanced asana techniques of Patanjali and Ashtanga yoga
  • Human anatomy: skeletal, muscles, respiratory, digestive, nervous and hormone system
  • Anatomy and physiology in relation to yoga: Prevention of illness and many more
  • The different layers of the human body (Koshas)
  • Pranayama – different breathing techniques (nadi shodhan, surya bhedana, chandra bhedana, sheetali shitkari, kapalabhati) Shat Karma, Noulli-Neti, dhouthi - tratka - kapalabhati - shankhaprakshalana
  • Meditation (chakra meditation, kundalini meditation, guided vedic meditation and other dynamic meditations)
  • Yoga Nidra (progressive relaxation)
  • Chakra systems (energy centers)
  • Ayurveda: specific food, the different dosha and other Ayurveda teachings
  • Bandhas (energy locks)
  • Mudras (yogic gestures of the Hatha yoga pradipika)
  • Trataka (focused view)
  • Bhakti yoga: Bhajans, Satsang, Kirtan
  • 8 limbs of yoga from Patanjali (10 sutra of 1st chapter of Patanjali yoga sutra will be discussed elaborately)

Half a day per week is off for own disposition/self-study or other activities. To obtain the certificate all lectures have to be attended. Teaching in English and German. The schedule might be quite tide, but there will still be some spare time left for you to explore the surroundings.

This retreat will take place in Schönfeld near Berlin.

Full-board vegetarian meals is included in the price. The delicious vegetarian full board consists of breakfast brunch, fruits and snacks at lunchtime and dinner. Tea is available all day long.

There is a 87.625 sqm beautiful park area around the castle, including a 2.500 sqm big lake. Ideal for nice walks and for relaxing.

Relax in the charming spa area! On 80 sqm you will find two saunas, a jacuzzi and an outdoor sauna with wood oven.
