This 200-hour Hatha yoga teacher training course is a program specially designed for beginner and advanced yoga aspirants who want to improve their yoga skills with a systematic curriculum. A new modern building in the ashram is dedicated to teacher training and other special programs of the ashram. Students need to arrive at Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun on or before 14th of the month ensuring their presence at early hours of 15th. Our pickup team should be contacted 24 Hours before the arrival for a smooth pickup. The details of pickup team will be sent over email and further communication will be over phone, Whats app or Skype for a seamless communication.
The students will be dropped off to the bus station, Haridwar Railway station or Jolly Grant Airport as per their preference. The students should declare their departure plan during the registration process.
There are traditional art classes like mehndi classes for girls, cooking classes for preparing yogic vegan food, sightseeing trips, jungle detour, river rafting etc. The combination of activities depends on the weather and local conditions. There is only one activity every week. For a seven day retreat, you will get any one of the given activities.
Situated on the bank of Ganges, Rishikesh is one of the holiest pilgrimage places in India. For thousands of years, it has been chosen retreat of saints, sages, and pilgrims who after retiring from worldly involvement pursued a solitary life of study, meditation, and austerity. Shri Avdhoot Ashram is situated in Rishikesh near the major pilgrimage places of Haridwar. Located as it is between the swiftly-flowing yet the serene Ganges and the foothills of the Himalayas, it is an ideal and tranquil setting for spiritual practice.
The sounds of nearby temple bells and devotional songs are carried on the morning and evening breezes, mingling with birdsong and augmenting the peaceful and contemplative atmosphere of the ashram. Rishikesh is one of the most popular pilgrim centers and gateway to the Himalayan Shrines of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. The yoga centers of Rishikesh have enhanced the significance of the place.
From this point, the great Ganges leaves behind her mountain home and enters the vast plains of Northern India. Rishikesh is located at a height of about 1360 feet above sea level. It is believed that several yogis and sages lived and practiced penance here. Rishikesh represents the site where Vishnu vanquished the demon Madhu. At present, it is the unofficial yoga capital of the world with people from around the world coming to learn the practice of yoga from the source.
There are four meals served everyday including breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner. International Yoga & Meditation Society India provide special consideration to vegan students, lactose intolerant students, diabetic students and also students with nuts and other allergies.
International Yoga & Meditation Society India do not offer spa treatments at their ashram. However, they have agreement with nearby spas who give free pick and drop facility and 20% discount to the students.
Please book your flight to arrive at Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (DED) at any time. Transfer from and to the airport is free and the organizer will be happy to assist you with your travels if they were informed at least 24 hours before the arrival. Even if you have discussed your travel well in advance, it will be best if you get in touch in the last 24 hours. It helps our management to make sure there is a smooth pickup.
