The majority of this 16-week training is pre-recorded HD video. This means you can take the classes on your own schedule and avoid Zoom burnout. You don't have to worry about other people's internet connections. Your precious time won't be wasted. You get less blabla and more content! You can pause and rewind whenever and as many times as you please. And you will have access to the content after the training as well!
One 90 minute weekly live session in small groups ensures that all your questions are answered, gives Jess the chance to catch up with you, and fosters a sense of community that will last a lifetime. This YTT is the perfect place to make new friends who love yoga as much as you do!
During the training you will have weekly teaching assignments. Jess will give you personal feedback on each assignment to help you boost your teaching skills quickly. Moreover, you will have one 1-on-1 coaching session with Jess during the training. You get to decide if you want this session right at the start, somewhere in the middle or toward the end of the program.
A good training manual will work miracles for you! And nothing beats handwritten notes. So we decided to create a beautiful manual, to print it and send it to your doorstep - no matter where you live!
Once registered, you will have access to all course materials for two full years. So you don't have to worry too much about note-taking or forgetting important details. Take your time to take in the teachings. This way you won't ever forget them again. Moreover, as a graduate, you can count on Jess to support you on your path as a teacher!
Jess will guide each cohort of students personally for 16 weeks. But you get a full 8 months to finish the course and become a certified yoga teacher. So there is absolutely no need for you to rush. And in case of life gets in the way you can stay calm and take your time.
The course starts on October 4. Jess will guide you through the training for 16 weeks as new content is released every week. You can either follow the recommended schedule and graduate in January 2022. Or you can take your time and graduate anytime before April 24 2022. In any case, you will have access to all course materials for 2 full years.
High quality videos are at the core of this 200-hour yoga teacher training. You can stream them on any device and watch them as many times as you'd like. Downloadable podcasts are the second major component. You can listen to them on your way to work, on a relaxed walk or whenever and wherever it fits for you.
Additionally, Jess hosts weekly 90-minute Zoom calls which to answer all your questions. Since there are three different options available groups are small and you can choose the time that suits you best. In case you can't make it to any of the calls, Jess will send you a recording to make sure you don't miss anything.
To boost your learning curve and help you become an outstanding yoga teacher, we offer weekly empowerment reviews, lots of journaling exercises and teaching assignments as well as a number of other homework. Jess will give you valuable personal feedback on all of your teaching practices!
What is more, you will receive a paper copy of the training manual delivered to your doorstep - no matter where you live in the world. Your manual goes hand in hand with the course materials. It will not only guide you during the weeks of the training but also turn into a most valuable personal resource afterwards.
The topics of this 200-hour training are carefully selected and organized into a comprehensive and cohesive whole. They comply with and also go far above and beyond the requirements for a 200-hour YTT program.
First and foremost you will practice and learn how to teach the following three styles of yoga:
Vinyasa flow is a more dance-like choreographed style of yoga that focuses on fluid, seamless transitions between postures. These transitions are just as important as the poses themselves and are a way to explore yoga as a practice of meditative movement that ebbs and flows and eventually peaks. The focus is less on alignment and static holds, and more on creativity and fun.
Hatha yoga broadly covers any of the physical practices of yoga. This could mean practicing the postures, breathwork, cleansing practices for the organs and other systems of the body, energy work, and more. In the modern yoga studio, Hatha Yoga is presented as longer-holds (between 5 - 10 breaths) in the postures with a focus on refining the actions of the pose once you’re in it. We focus on active muscular engagement to provide stability and support, moving energy throughout the body for enhanced flow of prana and vitality, and taking the time to find, but also understand individualized alignment.
Yin yoga is based on the Chinese Meridian system and Daoist philosophy. It is a practice of passive, long-held stretches. Focusing on the connective tissues, such as the fascia, joints, ligaments, and tendons, this meditative practice is all about taking your time in the poses (anywhere from 30 seconds to up to around 10 minutes or more in a posture). The practice of Yin aims to lubricate the joints, create more freedom in the tissues, target specific organs for optimal health, and train the mind, simultaneously.
If you follow the training comprehensively week by week, you will graduate to become a certified yoga teacher after 16 weeks (approximately 4 months). In order to receive your certification, you will be required to teach a 20 minute Hatha / Vinyasa flow sequence, a 20-minute Yin class, and a short 5-minute meditation or breathwork practice.
Upon graduation, you will also receive a certificate and a big (virtual) hug from Jess!
If you choose to, or need to take more time to complete the training, then you have until January 31st, 2022 to complete the program and receive your certification.
You will have access to the entire catalogue of content for two full years, starting on May 31st, 2021. This way, you can go back and review any course material that didn't "stick" the first time around. Reviewing and repeating are the keys to success, in life, and in yoga!
Jess will continue to support you after the training is over. You will automatically become part of their private YTT alumni group where resources, feedback and ideas are shared. If you are looking for more one-on-one support after the program, as a Jess Rose Yoga alumni, you will be eligible to enrol in her mentorship program.
Jess has trained multiple groups of teachers in the practice of alignment-based Vinyasa and Hatha yoga, Yin, and Restorative yoga. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge of up-to-date movement principles with her students in a fun and joyful way. Jess’ goal is to help you find your authentic creativity as a teacher - one who is able to plan, sequence and deliver powerfully unique and inspiring classes with confidence.
This teacher training is held online. So you can take it from wherever you are in the world! Enjoy high-quality prerecorded videos and crispy-clear audios on your own schedule. Jess Rose Yoga is located in Berlin, Germany (GMT+2) and for your weekly Zoom call, they offer three timeslots so you can join when it works for you (times are chosen so that all students can join at least one call comfortably).
