During this retreat, you will be staying in a garden property, 100 meters from the sea. Accommodation in either shared or single occupancy.


The training

The 200-hour certified yoga foundations course is designed to deepen your practice and give you the tools to guide your very own dynamic, original, safe, and well-rounded yoga class upon graduation. Practice, practice, practice will be the central theme for this 15 day-long training. Daily practice of asanas, pranayama, meditation, and by engaging in discussion, debate, and discourses the aim is to go beyond the theoretical and to embody the multidimensional yoga experience. After graduation, students/teachers will be teaching from personal experiences rather than a memorized script.

How you will learn

Students will wake to the sounds so playful birds and geckos, practice under old-growth palms, study poolside, and unwind by the sea watching the sunset.

Jungle Cabanas Isla Mujeres allows you the tranquility to truly focus and reconnect

Located in the quietest region of the island, the jungle cabanas are just steps from the Caribbean, set in a lush green garden. Only a short walk away are numerous restaurants with live music and the incredible "Punta Sur".


The Kootenay Yoga School team will be working hard to provide you with three vegetarian meals per day. Students are required to provide them with a list of dietary restrictions in advance of arrival. Meals will feature the best of local and seasonal produce, protein-rich greens, and plenty of hydrating drinks.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Students should travel to Cancún International Airport (CUN) and have the choice to either arrive to Isla Mujeres independently, or have the Kootenay Yoga School staff coordinate a transfer for them. Transfers to the port cost about 75 USD and the ferry to the island is about 20 USD.

Arrival by ferry

The ferry runs every hour, making it an easy and convenient trip over. It is suggested you sit on the top deck of the boat to enjoy the view and avoid the closed-in inside seating.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 14% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 30 days before arrival.
