Desert Sage House is a modern-day sanctuary set on five acres of land. With endless vistas and cozy books aplenty, this whimsical property has become a high desert destination for artists, mystics, musicians, and everyone in between. As soon as you step foot on the property, you are transported. The sunsets will leave you breathless and there is no better way to begin or end the day than soaking in the cedar tub beneath the wide-open sky.
Students who complete the training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
The time during the intensive training will be grounded in meditation and applying the philosophy and practice of yoga to your daily life. Each student will have the opportunity to practice teaching small groups. This transformative 15-day intensive will open doors of perception and catalyze shifts in the way you relate to yourself, each other, and your yoga practice.
This course will include daily yoga and meditation practice, asana and pranayama labs, and a variety of workshops designed to help you gain the knowledge and confidence to lead students in asana classes and workshops of your own.
Joshua Tree’s immense vistas of stark desert and rugged rock formations inspire stillness and calm. The team's commitment to yoga practice and empowerment will inspire students to live their best lives.
The most important thing you can do to prepare for this intensive is to cultivate your personal yoga practice. You will need to spend time on your mat. Just spread out your mat and explore what feels good in your body. Set aside 15 minutes every day for the practice of yoga.

Marcia is an ERYT 500 instructor, novice astrologer, nature lover, movement enthusiast, water explorer, and earth wanderer. As a traveling yogi, she has had the opportunity to study yoga in India, Nepal, Peru, and the USA. Teaching yoga abroad in over 12 different countries has given her the chance to experience a variety of cultures that adds to her teaching value. Marcia has been studying yoga for nearly a decade and a half. Her curiosity for travel began when she left the east coast of the USA for San Diego, California, 10 years ago. She stayed in California for a few years gaining skills.
Elizabeth Jane “EJ” (E-RYT 500, Certified Sound Healer and Breathwork Facilitator) creates a safe, nurturing space that allows for a bit of magic, inner healing, and moments to touch the divine within us. She has served as lead teacher for multiple 200hr Yoga Teacher Trainings around the world from India, to Malta, to Indonesia, to Mexico. She founded and hosts a Sound Healing Certification Course in Breckenridge, Colorado. To her, these ancient tools (Breathwork, Sound, and Yoga) serve as profound medicine that help us return to our inquisitive, joyful, natural Self.
The training will take place in Yucca Valley, California, USA. Boulders and buttresses, rugged mountains, gold mining ruins, and desert plains dotted with oddball trees, Joshua Tree National Park is a weirdly wonderful place. Nicknamed “J-Tree” by locals, the park lies at an ecological crossroads, where the high Mojave Desert meets the low Colorado Desert.
That marriage results in amazing desert flora, including those wacky namesake trees (actually a type of yucca), and leafy groves of palm trees. Joshua Tree’s beauty shines around the clock, with vibrant sunsets melting into nights filled with uncountable stars perfect for stargazing adventures.
You will be served three healthy and delicious vegan or vegetarian meals daily included in the price. All meals are sourced as locally as possible and prepared with the best of the local offerings.
