Ready to take the next step into your practice? Kootenay Yoga School has prepared one of the most comprehensive Teacher Training available in the yoga world, a unique fusion of styles bound together by my passion for the practice. The style you will learn is very complete. The training focuses on developing a strong personal practice first, Kootenay Yoga School will implement the Ashtanga Vinyasa Mysore style of practice for this purpose.

Kootenay Yoga School has incorporated the valuable influence of Maty Ezraty’s alignment concepts. You will also learn Universal Yoga’s arm asana, developed by Mahayogui Andrey Lappa, arm asana is missing from all other styles of the practice of yoga. The teaching is complemented with The Dance of Shiva, also from the universal yoga system, a practice to develop neuron connections and IQ. This fusion gives birth to what Kootenay Yoga School calls Infinity Yoga.

What will you learn?

  • You will learn Hatha and Yantra yoga (already you can see the difference)
  • The program focuses on developing your own practice so that you can teach from experience, Kootenay Yoga School teaches you the Ashtanga Mysore style of practice for that purpose
  • The styles taught are clearly defined, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Universal
  • The only certification in Mexico offering Shivanata the dance of Shiva, a Buddhist practice for enlightenment, yoga for the mind. this practice helps develop coordination and reaction (completely absent in modern yoga) making the practice more complete
  • You will learn what is yoga, philosophy, history, modern yoga
  • You will achieve an understanding of the different types (not styles) of yoga, Bhakti, Jnana, *Raja, Yantra amongst others
  • You will cover Patanjali’s 8 limb path
  • You will cover the entire Ashtanga Primary Series in full, including postures, adjustments, instructions, and variations
  • You will learn to work the five mayakoshas (layers) of the being
  • You will gain a deep understanding of what meditation actually is

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport (MID). Students who arrive at MID will have numerous transportation options that are all simple and reasonable in cost to access. You can also book your flight to arrive at Cancún International Airport (CUN).

From Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport (MID), car rental is one of the options and is not that expensive really. A small car can be rented for about 60 USD per week, including extra insurance and unlimited miles. If you’re from Cancún International Airport (CUN), care rental is a pretty good option.

Again, car rentals are about 60 USD per week. You will be traveling for about three hours but will be on what is called a toll road. The charge to use the road is minimal, but it provides the comfort of feeling safe en-route. In this case, you can drive directly to the property located at the 18 kilometers mark towards Telchac down the coastal strip.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 29% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 30 days before arrival.
