The Kranti Yoga School Village covers a 5,000 square meters area, having access to both the beach and the roadside. The village comprises of two campuses; Moksha, meaning liberation or release, is the ocean view campus. Sattva, meaning purity or reality, is the garden side campus. These are located next to each other with Moksha situated right on the beach and Sattva directly behind it.

At Kranti Yoga School, they also have four yoga shalas, for you to practice yoga, share, experience, and grow as a yoga student. A mantra is a sacred verse that is of spiritual value through repetition. Mantra Shala is Kranti Yoga's flagship shala as it boasts magnificent views of Patnem Beach. Morning practice takes place here as you overlook the tranquil sea, shaded from the rising sun as the day is about to commence.

You may even be lucky enough to see dolphins as gaze over your fingertips in Virabhadrasana. Evening restorative sessions take place here as the sun sets over the Arabian Sea, picture postcard every day. The Ocean View Shala, sitting alongside Patnem Beach, is the smallest of the four shalas and is a great place for practice by yourself with amazing views of the Arabian Sea.

Tantra means technique. Tantra Shala is located in Sattva, the garden campus. You will shade from the midday heat as this is the only shala with a roof. All your workshops will take place here. It is also, where you will learn about the techniques used in Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga.

All lectures are conducted here as the shala provides a classroom environment that is very much conducive to learning. The fans provide a breeze throughout the day, pillows and bolsters will keep you comfortable enough to listen intently to your teacher. The shala has a wall on one side which provides support for inversions and a whole host of back bending preparations.

Yantra is anything that has structure and organization. Yantra Shala is Kranti Yoga's secret shala hidden away amongst the mangrove trees. You will need this space as you develop the structure of your own class to eventually teach as part of the YTTC. The space is small and intimate, ideal for first-time teachers who may be feeling a little nervous. The shala has fans to keep you cool during your practice and is fully equipped with everything you may need.

Certification

Participating students (who have already completed the 200-hour yoga teacher training) are eligible to register 100-hours as YACEP - Continuous Education hours with Yoga Alliance. Kranti Yoga is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School (RYS) and the training meets the standards of Yoga Alliance.

Program

This Hatha yoga course has been designed for yoga teachers and practitioners to go beyond the physical body through Kundalini yoga, releasing the Kundalini energy that exists within you all. This Hatha yoga course will provide the opportunity for you to immerse yourself into your studies in the holiday environment of Goa.

The course will be taught by an experienced team of teachers who have all trained at Kranti Yoga, living in Goa for most of the year.

This Hatha yoga course will provide the opportunity for you to connect with the subtle body: The Nadis, The Koshas, and The Chakra System. This will be done through asanas, kriyas, mantra chanting, mudras, pranayama, and Kundalini yoga.

Here in Goa, this Hatha yoga course presents the traditions of Hatha yoga with a modern and contemporary approach. Teachings will be centred around Vedic traditions with a modern-day interpretation of the energetic body. In working with the dispersion of energy throughout the body, this can lead to increased vitality and wellbeing on both a physical and emotional level.

Kundalini Yoga encourages the dispersion of Kundalini energy, making it a powerful object of meditation, encouraging a mindful practice.

Kundalini yoga

This is a two-hour morning practice that will take place on alternate days. Classes will comprise of movement, asanas, kriyas, pranayama, and mantra chanting. The sequence has been designed to shift energetic blockages in the chakras, allowing the Kundalini energy to flow freely.

The Kundalini classes will focus on ego eradication, aura expansion, and transformation. This is a powerful practice that will leave you feeling invigorated. This is a huge part of the Hatha yoga course.

Pranayama and meditation

This will follow on from the Kundalini yoga and will allow you to find stillness within. A range of breathing and meditation techniques will be covered.

The chakras explored

This is a two-hour workshop that will delve into theory and philosophy behind each of the chakras. Emotions are attached to each of the chakras. Emotional blockages are created through the stresses and strains of daily life. In understanding how to stimulate the chakras, you can eliminate these blockages to encourage the free flow of prana (energy).

Chakras are stimulated through asanas, mantra chanting, breathing techniques, and Yin yoga. These will be explored during this workshop. Hatha yoga can be defined as allowing the energy to flow freely within the body. This plays an important part in Kundalini yoga.

Chakra / Hatha yoga

This is the afternoon practice of the Hatha yoga course in Goa. This class is a 90-minute slow flow centred around the chakras. The class will demonstrate how to build a commentary based on just one chakra, leaving you feeling totally connected to that particular energy centre. Postures will be low impact and the Hatha yoga flow will provide a soft and subtle practice for you to end the day with.

The emotional body workshop

Emotions are stored in the body as a result of your samskaras. Quite often, this results in blockages in the body, preventing that flow of energy through the chakras. The workshop will present the theory behind this, preparing you for a practice of emotional release. This is a series of breathing techniques to music that will induce a meditative release. This is a powerful class and has been a huge emotional benefit to many of the students.

Yoga philosophy

Students will learn about the origins of Hatha yoga and Kundalini yoga, putting it into the context of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. Your yoga philosophy teacher will facilitate debate, bringing the traditions of Vedic thinking into a modern-day context.

Eligibility

In order to participate on this Hatha yoga course here in Goa, you need to have your 200 hour yoga teacher training course. This is an advanced course building on the foundations set as part on your 200 hour yoga teacher training course. This Hatha yoga course is not aimed at beginners although it is a much gentler and softer practice than some of the other courses on offer here in Goa.
