Imagine balancing effortlessly in Tree pose, feeling the quiet strength of your roots burying deep into the earth as you feel the ancient trunks of jungle giants silently all around. Bury your worries in soft coral sand as the caresses of a healing breeze and warm waves fill your body with vitality. At Kula Collective's off-the-grid, jungle farm location at Punta Mona, you will learn to deepen your yoga practice and lead others to do the same.
Punta Mona, on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica close to the Panamanian border, is built on the power of community and the beauty of living a simple, intentional life. You will share lodging and bathrooms in simple, sustainable community lodges, with comfortable shared spaces and hammocks. Single options are available. Compost toilets and showers are shared by all and the center doubles as a permaculture community and education center.
Punta Mona offers the unlikely experience of a sustainable, permaculture education center in the deep jungle of Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast. Surrounded by unique foods and medicinal plants, and secluded from roads, modern technology, and other people, this is a totally unique opportunity to “Disconnect to Reconnect”. This is a unique place and one that has much to teach about the things we take for granted, the power of community, imagination, equality, and the beauty of living a simple, intentional life. Eat, breathe and live yoga as you immerse yourself in the holistic lifestyle of the oldest Permaculture farm in Costa Rica.
Students who complete their subsequent training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
The ceremony, Kirtan or Satsang sacred gathering will be held every other evening.
The Kula Collective 200-hour training provides deep immersion in the practice of yoga; living, learning, and embracing all aspects of yoga as a lifestyle and deepening the connection to oneself and the earth through the wisdom of shamanic practices. These traditions, designed to grant you access to the infinite wisdom you carry within yourself, are smoothly blended together to form a holistic offering rooted in the principle of yoga as union, a channel for connection to the divine.
In addition to meeting the standards for teaching methodology, anatomy, yogic theory, and special education, Kula Collective's 200-hour yoga teacher training focuses on the expansion of your own sacred consciousness so that you can fully embody your practice and radiate the teachings in your own presence. This course will provide a solid foundation of yoga including the history and traditional paths, the 8 limbs of ashtanga yoga, anatomy, and exploration of asana through the Kula Basic Flow and its asana analysis.
This training will provide a strong foundation in yogic practice and philosophy, and a fresh perspective on life. Through the unique experience of uncovering and discovering your true nature, Kula Collective empower their students to become inspired leaders in their communities and wherever they go in the world. Kula Collective's curriculum is split into four teaching tracks, woven through each of the three cycles. The Four Arts recognize and develop their studies in yoga in a thoroughly holistic manner, stimulating their students to become inspired, knowledgeable and intuitive teachers, expressing and modeling all aspects of this ancient lifestyle practice.

The Andean Cross allows a transformative journey through the lower, middle, and upper worlds of this ancient tradition, allowing you to explore the many levels of your being.
Beginning with the Lower World, you will Explore your unconscious and physical abilities and limitations, recognizing and breaking through self-created boundaries.
By releasing what no longer serves you, you create more space in the body and mind through the cultivation of awareness and the understanding of the roots of yoga, anatomy, foundational practices, and selfless service.
In the Middle World, you Empower, discovering more of who you are, through experiencing elemental awareness and self-inquiry, allowing you to embody the teachings and live to your full potential.
After teaching your first full yoga class, participants dive deep into the work of Patanjali's Ashtanga (8 limbs) philosophy, applied anatomy, philosophy, pranayama, Ayurveda, and chakras, deepening understanding of your true nature and evoking a strong love for the self and each other.
From your work in the Lower and Middle worlds, you experience a sense of freedom in the Upper World as you Expand, shifting from gross to more subtle realms of consciousness, letting you step into your radiant power.
With topics such as complementary holistic health practices, yoga sutras in-depth, and the profession of yoga, you will close your training with a clear personal practice and teaching plan, fueled with inspiration to grow our gifts and manifest your dreams.
This course is designed for anyone interested in deepening their yogic practice and those who are also interested in taking the first step to becoming a certified yoga instructor. There are no physical or educational prerequisites to register in a 200-hour yoga teacher training. Kula Collective does recommend that students have regular practice prior to attending the course. Not interested in becoming a yoga teacher? No problem! This course is still an incredible way to deepen your knowledge and take some time away from your day-to-day distractions by diving into an immersive yoga experience.
Kula Collective takes great pride in preparing students to become teachers. Teaching yoga is an art form. It is a process of intimacy; one that asks for deep movement within both giver and receiver: through love, authenticity, attention, and connection. There are many ways in which yoga can be shared, but here at Kula Collective, they believe that the fundamental principle that links all of the yoga teachings is Connection; the concept that in order to truly help another being to find oneness, they must themselves be a channel to that oneness for their students.
Their YTT’s will help you to find this connection within, in order to share your light with others, helping to awaken and inspire all those around you. You will be given a broad foundation of all areas necessary to give you the confidence, skills, and wisdom to share this profound healing practice.
Jiya is a deeply connected leader who roots her teaching in the healing energy of nature. Her teaching invites students to explore their own unique unfolding through profound awareness and trust in the wisdom of the self. Jiya is also a talented musician and sound healer who seeks out native chants and medicine songs from around the world to complement her work.
Cheralee is a traveling yogini, musician, and nature lover. She discovered the path of yoga when she moved to the magical island of Maui, Hawaii in 2007. Soon after, Cher left to spend a year in India to connect with the birthplace of her life's work. Cher has found that precise alignment in asana can heal many problems in the body structure and can create a bridge to align thoughts, words, and actions. She has traveled around the world and studied with great teachers from various yogic lineages. She learns daily by witnessing the rhythms of nature at work.
