How the training works

You will get six hours of live sessions per week. Most classes are pre-recorded classes to be completed each week at your own pace. The pre-recorded classes make up about 17 hours per week. In addition, Kula Collective will pair students together to make "Peer Teaching Partners", and the two must plan to do two hours to live Zoom peer teaching together during each week. Peer teaching assessments will be performed online under the supervision of your Kula Facilitator who will offer individualized constructive feedback.

Daily schedule (GMT-5 / GMT-4)

The live classes will all begin at 8 a.m. PST / 11 a.m. EST / 4 p.m. England / 5 pm Germany. The six hours a week of scheduled live calls are as follows:

Live class schedule:

  • First day: Special two-hour opening ceremony
  • Every Monday: 3 hours live art of teaching workshops
  • Every Friday: 3 hours live discussion on topics covered this week, plus live ceremony, or supplementary topics

Kula Collective highly encourages/requests presence at lives, yet if the student cannot attend, the sessions will be recorded. The student can re-watch and write a summary/do a quiz about what was discussed on the live as 'make up work'.

Throughout your time together, you will engage in self-inquiry to clear space for the true teacher within to shine. By releasing the stories and holdings that no longer serve you, you will create more space in your bodies and mind to see your gifts, your passions, and the essence of who you are as beings on a path to holistic, connected living. This training will provide a strong foundation in yogic practice and philosophy, and a fresh perspective on life. It’s an opportunity to cultivate a practice if you do not have one and to deepen your existing practice if you do.

Through the unique experience of uncovering and discovering your true nature, Kula Collective will empower their students to become inspired leaders in their communities and wherever they go in the world. Step away from the rush and come closer to your calling, through connecting to your heart and embracing the oneness within all.

Journey through the three worlds of the Chakana

Each of the training programs has been carefully designed to incorporate 200 intensive hours, as detailed by the Yoga Alliance, using the Kula Collective signature structure of the Chakana. The Andean Cross allows a transformative journey through the lower, middle, and upper worlds of this ancient tradition, allowing you to explore the many levels of your being.

Explore - Lower world

Beginning with the Lower World, you will explore your unconscious and physical abilities and limitations, recognizing and breaking through self-created boundaries and limiting beliefs. By releasing what no longer serves you, you will create more space in the body and mind through the cultivation of awareness and the understanding of the roots of yoga, anatomy, foundational practices, and selfless service. Throughout this cycle, you will practice and learn in-depth the poses and sequencing of the Kula Basic Flow, with daily opportunities to teach to peers and receive feedback.

Empower - Middle world

In the Middle World, you will empower discovering more of who you are, through experiencing elemental awareness and self-inquiry, allowing you to embody the teachings and live to your full potential. After teaching your first full yoga class, participants dive deeper into the work of Patanjali’s Ashtanga (8 limbs) philosophy, applied anatomy, philosophy, pranayama, Ayurveda, and chakras, deepening understanding of your true nature and evoking a strong love for the self and each other.

Expand - Upper world

From the work in the Lower and Middle worlds, you will experience a sense of freedom in the Upper World as you expand, shifting from gross to more subtle realms of consciousness, letting you step into your radiant power. With topics such as complementary holistic health practices, yoga sutras in-depth, and the profession of yoga, you will close your training with a clear personal practice and teaching plan, fueled with inspiration to grow your gifts and manifest your dreams into reality.

Explore the four arts during your online training

The curriculum is split into four teaching tracks, woven through each of the three cycles. The Four Arts recognize and develop your studies in yoga in a thoroughly holistic manner, stimulating your students to become inspired, knowledgeable, and intuitive teachers, expressing and modeling all aspects of this ancient lifestyle practice.
