If you are longing to take the first step into a deeper journey of inner discovery, this course is a leap into that journey. La Casa Shambala's program is truly special, not only for its content and practice but also for the loving intention that we put into every part of it. The curriculum and philosophy of this school are focused on traditional Hatha yoga. As you will learn during the course, Hatha yoga is a way of approaching life, and the asana practice is only one of the eight limbs of the Hatha philosophy. You will learn how to integrate the empathetic and spiritual practice of Hatha into your life, learning how to exist in the spiritual world and the modern-day world we are all accustomed to. Vinyasa is a more modern form of yoga that comes from the Hatha Asana practice. Vinyasa focuses on using breath with movement, harmonizing each movement in the yoga flow with an inhale or an exhale. No two vinyasa classes are the same and you will be taught how to sequence beautiful Vinyasa flows that will embody your unique teaching style.
Besides teaching the Hatha philosophy: this course also puts a focus on teaching traditional Ayurveda; the ayurvedic diet, learning about your Ayurvedic profile (the doshas), using Ayurveda for preventative health and wellness. As a yoga teacher, it’s important to understand human anatomy and how yoga influences our bodies on an anatomical level. La Casa Shambala's course teaches anatomy from its more traditional biological standpoint as well as the conjunction between yogic philosophy and biological principles. This is so that our students can understand on a biological level, why a yoga asana practice makes us feel better. This school's yoga asana classes are traditional Hatha, Yin/Restorative yoga, and Vinyasa. Students will finish this TTC with knowledge in teaching all three varieties of yoga classes.
Built by the concept of minimalistic and community lifestyle, the Soham wellness house has five twin bedrooms and two triple bedrooms, all air-conditioned and with private bathrooms overlooking the jungle. The space contains two rooftop terraces - one with an outdoor pool, yoga shala, spacious open kitchen and living room, a green courtyard, and some beautiful intimate nooks to chill and soothe the mind and heart. Casa Soham is fully submerged by the jungle, providing a place of calmness and comfort, and a space to transform and truly reconnect with the natural self.
Students who complete the training receive their RYT200 certificate and are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
Please note that this schedule is an example only and is subject to change, based on teachers' preferences and in line with seasonal changes.
Musician, actor and Yoga teacher. Andrés combines his knowledge of Power Yoga and Yin Yoga with the traditional style that he learned in an Ashram in India. His classes are full of music, fun and a deep respect for the tradition which invites the student to the most beautiful journey he can take. The journey within.
In the heart of the ancient town of Chemuyil, right where the jungle meets the Caribbean Sea, there is a space to feel home: Casa Soham, a retreat house, where La Casa Shambala produce and co-creates wellness.
With yoga as their heart, they believe in opening spaces to go beyond the mat and weave experiences that invite you to heal, to share, to re-connect, to look inside, to honor nature.
Different shades of green and mesmerizing skies, as well as all sorts of bird chants, are just part of the atmosphere that surrounds their Casa. Think sunrises, sunsets by the rooftop, clear starry nights, a calm breeze, even a zen pond.
It is a 45-minute walk to the beach and 30 minutes by car to Tulum.
In Indian yogic culture we are introduced to the three Gunas; Tamas, Rajas, and Sattva, these represent the three yogic qualities, where Sattva represents purity and pure food; Rajas represents movement and therefore foods that unsettle the mind; Tamas represents static foods that intoxicate the mind and body.
La Casa Shambala chooses a Sattvic yogic diet, a diet that shares the qualities of Sattva some of which are “Pure, essential, natural, vital, energy-containing, clean, conscious, true, honest and wise. A Sattvic diet also exemplifies the yogic precept of “Ahimsa” which carries the principle of not causing harm to any living being, the reason why yogic Sattvic diets are simple and vegetarian.
The Sattvic diet you are receiving while training is of vital importance, we maintain simple locally sourced ingredients in very carefully thought out recipes so that you can detoxify the body in a paced manner, and ultimately calm the mind.
If you have some food allergies, intolerance, or special diet, let us know and adjustments can be made to accommodate if needed.
