I spent 10 days at Lotus Oasis at the beginning of January, and I couldn’t have had a better time. The yoga teachers, Samita, Manav and Rama are experienced, kind and friendly with great teaching skills. Everyone who was working there made their best effort to make sure I had a great time.

Sanju, Ravi and Santosh - the boys working in the restaurant - always welcomed us with a smile accompanied by an incredible service! It’s lovated ON the beach, so everything you do is to the sound of the ocean. The beach was clean (cleaned each morning) and I was offered to have my hut cleaned every day. It got a bit cool in the evening, so I recommend bringing a sweater or a cardigan. I will definitely return again, and again and again.

Yoga sessions were varied - mixture of strength work, hip openers, core - and a good length (90 mins) to allow meditation or breath work too.

The yoga instructors are very competent, adjusting as and when necessary, and very helpful in showing different options for poses.

The food is fantastic! And special served meals for Christmas and New Year...awesome!

A variety of activities such as movie night and live music night make this a really friendly yoga retreat.

I loved everything. It was charming and so cool. The Yogis Manav and Sam were excellent. The food was absolutely delicious. I wish I could have stayed longer. Look no further, this is the place to go to in India.

Nothing! Everything and Everyone there was fab!

Very friendly, well prepared personnel. Wonderful evening with live music.

I can hardly find anything to complain about. The only recommendation would be to invest in good quality of yoga mats.

After many hours searching the internet for different yoga reteats I decided on The Lotus Oasis Yoga retreat. It was the best decision I ever made.

Manav and his wife Sam have created the most beautiful and welcoming place I have ever stayed.

The location of the resort and how it is positioned on the beach are excellent.

Every morning I would step from my bungalow straight onto the sand walk onto the beach and wake up in paradise.

Morning and afternoon yoga lesson on this beach were fantastic. Manav and Sam are excellent teachers.

The relaxed atmosphere and friendly guests made me feel at home straight away. I made many news friends who I will be seeing again.

My Yoga improved more than I thought possible in such a short space of time.

This was the best holiday I have ever had and will be returning here as soon as possible.

Reading the other reviews before leaving for Oasis Lotus, I knew that I was in for a pretty great stay, but Sam, Manav and the team surprised me every day with their wonderful hospitality and I couldn't recommend the retreat enough! I am a beginner to yoga, and whilst the classes were challenging, there were plenty of variations I could try if it moved on to more advanced positions. It was particularly spectacular to finish the evening class facing the sun setting over the ocean.

The retreat itself is just as beautiful as I could have hoped - comfortable and characterful, with places to sunbathe as well as escape the sun when the midday heat got intense. The upstairs area provided the perfect place to read in the ocean breeze and cool down. On to the food - among the best I have ever tasted, we were treated to a variety of different options every meal time, making it a rare occasion that the group didn't go up for second or even third helpings!

Patnem beach itself is an excellent location for this kind of experience - it has a safe, quiet, untouched feel, whilst offering the option to visit bars and hear some live music - you could be as sociable or self-contained as you liked. Sam and Manav were always keen to help with any queries about areas to travel or how to shop, which made me feel more confident as a lone traveller to try checking out some of the neighbouring beaches. All in all I have a hard time imagining who wouldn't enjoy Oasis Lotus - a perfect retreat.

Honestly the only part I didn't like about the experience was realising I had to leave! Will absolutely be coming back again.

I have just returned from a 10 day yoga retreat at Lotus Oasis Yoga and since this was my first yoga retreat I did not know what to expect or what I could gain from this experience. Now when I have returned from the retreat, I would strongly recommend everyone to visit Lotus Oasis Yoga for an amazing yoga and Goa experience as I feel completely re-energized, balanced and satisfied.

The resort is situated on the beach and even from the private beach hut you can clearly hear the sounds of waves. The main building of the resort has a lovely roof top terrace overlooking the beach and the food is healthy and truly amazing. All staff members are very friendly and service minded. Upon our requests, they arranged a cooking class and a dolphin tour. The beach hut itself is simple and you cannot expect a luxurious standard. You can however expect a clean hut with a proper bed, fan and shower. You will not need more as you will spend most of the time on the yoga deck, the beach, doing a tour or in the restaurant.

I had some experience of ashtanga yoga before going on the retreat and did not know what to expect from the mixture of ashtanga/vinyasa flows, hatha and yin yoga. I definitely did not expect to improve this dramatically in such a short amount of time. Firstly, all yoga classes are held on a yoga deck on the beach. Every morning starts with a physically challenging ashtanga/vinyasa flow. In the afternoon, a calmer hatha/yinyoga class with increased focus on alignment and meditation is held in the sunset. These classes complemented each other perfectly but there was no pressure to attend both. The instructors are truly amazing and inspirational. Even if the levels of experience in the groups are mixed, they manage to adjust the level in order to both challenge the most experienced yogis (we even had several instructors among the participants) and to meet the yogis who were complete beginners. During the week, I got plenty of individual tips and adjustments designed for my level and my body. Only in one week, my own practice has therefore improved significantly.

I will gladly return to Lotus Oasis Yoga as soon as I have the opportunity. Thank you team Lotus for this wonderful experience!

The huts are simple- as expected, however there is a toilet and shower, also a basin included. So that was surprising for me and really great. The beds are comfortable. I did not have WiFi in my hut, because I was too far from the reception desk. In the front ones, I guess there would be. The Yoga lessons are awesome and the beach and location are really calm and clean. The only thing I was not so happy about: loads of dogs all around and especially during night they were howling so much. And a train seems to be going close by there, so there are quite a few sounds during night. Get earplugs and you'll be fine! Food is awesome and fresh! Staff is great, fun and helpful

My husband and I stayed in Lotus Oasis last November and it was wonderful. We were met at the airport by a taxi, which we paid for in advance, and he drove us to the row of shops at the entrance to Patnem beach. Two guys met us there and insisted on carrying our bags down the beach to Lotus, where we were met my Manav and Sam. They were lovely and showed us to our hut and we were free to settle right in. The hut is basic, as expected, but perfect. The bathroom doesn't feel so clean compared to western standards and I was always checking the toilet roll for ants before I used it, but I got used to this and the cool showers quickly. It is amazing that they put these huts up and take them down again every year! Expect insects, crabs, frogs in your hut. Though you have a mosquito net, so you are safe when in bed. I loved this experience. Only problem was the bed was really hard and the pillows were not good. So it wasn't too comfortable and the first few nights we slept quite badly. It didn't put me off though. The food here is amazing. We ate in Lotus most nights and it was cheap and delicious. I think Goa is more expensive than other parts of India but still very cheap compared to UK. The breakfast was included in the price of our stay and it was great - cereal and fruit but also daal and bread and rice - for breakfast! We ate 3 big meals every day. The menu includes food from all over the world and lots of delicious cocktails. The red wine was cold, which was strange, but maybe it's too hot not to refrigerate it. And was around 2 GBP for a massive glass so I didn't mind. We did eat out in other places along the beach a few times and they were lovely too. No bad experiences. Every morning after breakfast we walked along the beach, which was lovely. Quite a quiet beach compared to Palolem, which is the next one over. We got a rickshaw to Palolem a few times for shopping and it was fun but we were glad to be staying on Patnem where you don't get harassed so much by the shop owners and boat tour people. There were yoga classes twice per day - at sunrise and sunset. I usually went to one per day, depending on when we woke and what we were doing that day. There were a mix of teachers, some better than others. I liked them all but my husband had difficulty with some and stopped going to classes as they didn't give enough guidance for beginners. Beautiful view from the yoga shala though, and the lovely gentle breeze. We spent a lot of time upstairs in the 'treehouse' reading and relaxing in the hottest part of the day. I fell asleep there lots of times! And you can eat your dinner and get drinks up there. The guys who were serving the food and drinks were so lovely. Everyone was so lovely! Sometimes at night there was live music downstairs and sometimes we listened or we went upstairs to read while it was in the background. I think it usually stopped about 11pm though, so it was quiet for bedtime. There is a noise curfew on that beach, which I appreciated! Overall, this was a wonderful stay and if we were ever to find ourselves back in Goa I would love to come back to Lotus Oasis.
