This 60-hour Pilates teacher training is a detailed, movement-based core module that focuses on deepening students’ knowledge and skills of a functional movement practice centered on developing the deep stabilizing system of the torso. This training can work either as a stand-alone training or as a complementary modality for either a working yoga teacher or fitness professional.
The historic Château Rieucazé was constructed in 1786, just three years prior to the outbreak of the French Revolution, belonging to the family of the Comte Du Pac until 1960. The house has been artfully revived to recapture its authentic charm and elegance, balanced with modern elements and imbuing it with the enduring ambiance of a genuine home.
The property encompasses a sprawling park with gardens designed under different themes: French, English, exotic, and Mediterranean.
The grounds also include a large pond where koi carp and swans swim, a heated salt-water pool, a handmade mosaic steam room / hammam, a weight room, and a large greenhouse that allows the preservation of exotic plants and delicate shrubs.
The château can host up to 16 people in eight rooms, with either private or shared bathrooms. The interiors of the house have been meticulously restored, preserving numerous period features, including intricate plasterwork, marble fireplaces, wainscotting, and beautifully detailed hardwood floors throughout the main rooms.
The course / hours count as Continuing Education hours for Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®) only.
For graduates of any 200-hour Yoga Alliance-certified training, the full extent of this program can be applied towards Luce Yoga 300-hour certification, and is eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) with Yoga Alliance.
Pilates is a transformational mind-body movement practice that combines concentration, awareness, and efficiency with strength, range of motion, and endurance.
By practicing Pilates, the correct activation of the mid-section is cultivated, the range of movement of the spine and major joints are increased, posture is refined, the mechanics of movement are improved, and muscle recruitment patterns are reeducated.
With a scope both deep and refined, this training program fosters the growth of both the student and teacher in you through ample exploration, integrated learning, and practice teaching.
In this training, you will learn to artfully create a sequence of balanced core work and learn to teach the movements of each exercise.
Luce Yoga's mission is to prepare you to develop safe and sensible core classes for all levels of studentship. You will learn to accurately observe students’ bodies, assist them into muscle recruitment through verbal cues, basic hands-on assist, modifications of exercises, and the use of props.
Luce Yoga believes that a deeper understanding of Pilates and how to teach it comes from a consistent commitment to your personal practice, and your practice will become a well-spring of resources and inspiration for you as a teacher. As such, proper execution of exercises, biomechanics, and sequencing will be at the core of this training.
With exercise labs and practice teaching sessions every day, you will deepen your knowledge of the biomechanics of Pilates and develop communication skills to transmit this knowledge to your own students.
This training and practice schedule requires participants to fully immerse themselves in a Pilates core practice. Participants should be sincerely interested and ready to study intensively. You will also be expected to be healthy and able.
As such, Luce Yoga recommends a regular yoga practice or fitness training of at least one year prior to this training. This training may also be taken to deepen your own knowledge, with or without the intention to teach.
Please also note that both the training and manual are solely in English. As such, a solid understanding and knowledge of English is a must.
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali is one of the most well-known spiritual scriptures in the history of yoga. The text is a compilation of 196 aphorisms (sutras), which are short, concise phrases designed to be easy to memorize, and that explains what yoga is and how it can be applied in people's daily lives.
The Yoga Sutras is an enormously influential body of work that is just as relevant today as it was when it was written, and it will be the philosophical backbone of this training. Please bring a copy of any translation of the text in English or French.
Nico Luce has been practicing and teaching yoga for 15 years and has trained in various lineages such as Power Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Anusara, Yin, and Pilates. He is also a devoted student of Eastern philosophy and spirituality. His classes combine inspiring themes with a dynamic physical practice focused on refinement while cultivating presence in the moment. Nico lives with his wife and their children in the French part of Switzerland. He travels internationally offering teacher trainings, workshops, and retreats.
Situated in the department of Haute-Garonne, one hour southwest from Toulouse and its international airport, Château Rieucazé is nestled at the top of a hill, offering captivating views of the valley and the Pyrenées mountains to the south.
Located on the edge of a tiny village, the main house is backed by a courtyard of eighteenth-century barns and enjoys 10 acres of park and gardens, ensuring complete privacy.
