You will visit places of local spiritual significance to understand the trainings yoga-on-the-mat within the context of the ancient spiritual practices still thriving in the Kathmandu valley. Thus, you will enjoy a nature walk to the nearby cave of Guru Rinpoche's enlightenment, as you retrace his travel to bring Buddhism to Tibet.
The training will be hosted in a stunning Tibetan Buddhist monastery. The monastery is situated near Pharping in the Kathmandu Valley, in the foothills of the Himalayas. You will stay in the comfortable and modern guesthouse in the grounds of the temple, less than an hours drive from the heart of Kathmandu. This pristine location gives you the chance not only to train and absorb the teachings, but to truly get away from daily life and immerse in a practice that will help you to take lasting steps on your own journey.
For Tibetan Buddhists, the hills of Pharping where you will immerse for your training are considered as sacred as Bodhgaya in India, as this is the place where the second Buddha Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) attained the state of enlightenment, before going on to establish Buddhism in Tibet.
