Join Michelle Bartolo Yoga on this rejuvenating yoga teacher training in scenic Malta. This teacher training course will teach you more than how to teach yoga. With a strong intention on personal improvement, psychological flexibility, opening up to allow energy to move through you this course is designed not only to provide students with tools to share the wisdom of yoga with others, yet also to look at their own lives from a spiritual perspective.
A cluster of maisonettes superbly finished with typical rustic style interiors and farmhouse style stone arches and wooden beams. Set in the heart of the peaceful Gozitan countryside, its residents may enjoy beautiful country and/or distant sea views. Village Tal-Fanal is five minutes away by car from the capital city of Victoria.
There is a small well-stocked mini-market within walking distance from the village. There are 26 houses in all (with one, two, three or four bedrooms), each having a well-equipped kitchen (ideal for self-catering holidays) and a comfortable living room. All the one bedroom houses have a bathroom ensuite and a terrace or a balcony, while the two bed-roomed houses have two bathrooms each, one of which is ensuite.
All two bed-roomed houses have a large terrace on the ground or first-floor level. The three bed-roomed houses are all on the ground floor level with a large terrace; they have two or three bathrooms. A large swimming pool and sunbeds are at the disposal of the residents.
The village is adorned with plants, and there is an atmosphere of complete relaxation and tranquility. All residents may park their cars in a large underground car park situated beneath part of the village itself. Weekly maid service including change of linen and towels is offered free of charge.
Air-conditioning units are available in bedrooms and are operated using an electronic coin system with 1 and 2 EUR coins. Remaining credit is clearly displayed on the screen. Each air conditioner units consumes around 2 EUR per night.
Each training holds unique energy, created from like-minded souls. As you train and embody this approach, you open up to the wisdom and the teacher that is already within us all. You dance, chant, and sing. You will find community with like-minded people and you embrace the stillness within yourselves.
You will call on your intuition for the answers and you speak from spirit to spirit. You will dive deep into the experience, free from unnecessary distractions and allow your authentic connection to emerge. Each day carries an intention, a spiritual lesson of the day, that you each set for yourselves along with the efforts that need to be made to achieve it.
You begin each class with a meditation, followed by a 90-minute kriya asana practice. Then you dip into learning yogic theory, yogic practice, and healing through group discussions. During this time you will cover the fundamentals of yogic living, including yogic diet, anatomy, meditation, cleansing practices, pranayama, Ayurveda, and sharing all the things in your lives you’d no longer like to carry around.
The training also opens up to include other methods of healing, calling on not just the physical and mental elements but also the more subtle forms such as energy healing. You will share the art of teaching and the art of touch, during which students learn to teach a segment of a class in every class you share.
Included is Kundalini Kriyas to unravel any blockages in your roots so your serpent energy can rise; a slow flow which is a slow, meditative, practice followed by Vinyasa Flow, a more intense, breath-synchronized flow. You will also share the fundamentals of intelligent sequencing and explore alignment and adjustment of poses in depth. Each class will end with meditation and kirtan (chanting).
Classes will run from Monday from Friday from 11:00 to 17:00
Michelle was first introduced to yoga in 2002. She is certified through the YMCA as a fitness instructor and has been traveling and teaching various types of classes for many years in various countries including Canada, Ireland, Australia, Costa Rica, Morrocco, and Malta. In February 2010, Michelle completed a 500-hour teacher training course in Transformational yoga with Swami Vidyanand; this course focused on chakra cleansing through chanting. She did her 500-hour teacher training in Rishikesh, India.
On your weekends off, you can rent a bicycle cheaply and ride around the island visiting the temples, beaches, quaint villages.
