They have a cozy cafe area, providing delicious meals and snacks for guests. Cara Creek Eco Lodge is breathtaking, naturally built, sustainably run, rustic, and cozy. Most of their guests rave about their chemical-free natural swimming pool with an infinity edge overlooking the valley right down to the River Seia.

Pass an evening in their wood-fired hot tub and sauna, or on your free day exploring the area - rich with authentic Portuguese culture. Cara Creek has a variety of eco pods where you can sleep to the sound of the surrounding nature, including the passing river. The eco pods are uniquely shaped structures made from wood and canvas. The five penta pods each have a double-sized bed inside.

They are meant for single occupancy for this teacher training. You can also stay with one other roommate in one of their four-sided tetra pods, which have two twin beds inside. They use a well-established compost loo system and all the bathrooms are communal and comfortable. To fit a variety of budgets, they have also added a camping option in which you bring your own tent and camping gear.

Program

Certification

Students who complete their subsequent training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).

This is a 200-hour yoga teacher training immersive program, set in nature. Every aspect of your training incorporates some portion of the curriculum. Off Grid Yoga School focuses on how to not only become a yoga teacher but also how to live more of a yogic lifestyle off your mat. They exceed the 180 contact hours required by Yoga Alliance because they are committed to your success as a yoga teacher. The training group size is small (maximum eight students) which keeps things small and intimate.

You will begin practicing teaching within the first days of teacher training so that by the end of the course, you will feel confident in guiding a class. You will even be given the option to teach a donation-based real class to a group other than your trainee peers if you feel comfortable doing so. This training uses a written evaluation as well as a practicum (an evaluated practice class) so that you will know where your strengths lie and where you can focus on development.

Ashley is available to answer any of your questions and address any concerns throughout your program, and afterward as you embark on your journey as a yoga teacher. They have expert guest teachers that come and teach on certain topics they specialize in or are extra knowledgeable about as part of the training - for example a meditation teacher, a trauma-informed yoga teacher, and so on. You will receive discounts of 10 percent on yoga retreats and future training organized by them.

You will have their support and be added to a community on Facebook with new and experienced yoga teachers to support you on your journey long after the training is complete. You will be a preferred retreat host for when the time comes as a yoga teacher that you would like to run your own yoga retreats here at Cara Creek Eco Lodge which comes with more booking deposit flexibility.
