Students who complete their training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).

This certification has been perfected with over 600+ graduates through live training. Students can expect to have a deep understanding of yoga and a full range of yogic knowledge including posture (asana), breathing (pranayama), philosophy, and applications in daily living.

The class size is limited, so every student receives personalized attention and has direct contact with their instructor. One factor that separates Yoga Teacher Academy from other teacher training is their teacher development module. Most training offered only teaches you how to instruct classes using their model, and that’s how most instructors fail. Yoga Teacher Academy has formulated the practice of finding your teaching voice and style, these two are a major key in your yoga teaching.

You will be helped in finding a teaching style that you build upon and find your voice teaching flow. In addition, you will learn how to lead a safe and well-balanced class. There will be three yoga traditions covered in this training: Vinyasa, Yin, and Hatha.

You do not need a certain amount of “time” before you can enroll in yoga teacher training. Past graduates refer to this as listening to the voice inside when it’s “time” to deepen your practice and follow your passion. Yoga Teacher Academy's graduates come from all different walks of life, even self-taught yogis who heard the voice inside to help others through the power of yoga.

Training schedule

The schedule will be defined depending on group needs. There is previous work that can be done prior to arrival.

Day of arrival

  • Registration check-in 4:00 p.m.
  • Event start time: is 9 a.m. the day after arrival to give traveling guests adequate rest time.

Day of departure

Latest time of departure is the final day at noon. You are welcome to leave anytime after the closing ceremony the previous night. The closing ceremony ends at 4:00 p.m.

Phase one: information | Learn it - the science of the yoga practice

Now that you have heard the voice within you to learn what it takes to deepen your practice, in phase one, you will unlock the science behind your yoga. Through this, you will see for the first time each tradition broken down into the physical body. You will be guided through the hidden science of the respiratory and nervous system, as you unfold how to increase life force energy in the human body.

Your outcome through this phase with training videos, audios, and action guide is to allow your mind to begin seeing the science behind the power of yoga. By the time, you complete this phase of your yoga teacher training experience, you will - for the first time - get a glimpse into the reality of becoming the beacon of light that holds the space for your community.

  • Outcome: Full intellectual understanding of the science of yoga practice.

Phase two: Integration | Live it - the art of the yoga lifestyle

This phase is known as the art integration of the yoga lifestyle. Every other week as you complete the video training, audio, and action guides, you will have a group live hands-on coaching call with your lead trainer, Julianne Arce. This will ensure you fully understand the science and the art of marrying the two together. The fine art of creating sacred space in your teaching and fostering the journey of the ones who seek you to guide them through their practice.

The integration of guided and unguided meditation is a vital component of the yogic lifestyle. In this phase, you break down the framework of delivering such beautiful art of your teachings. In the conclusion of your integration between the two, you will immerse yourself in the understanding of the business of yoga. Giving you the clarity to effectively communicate your message and start marketing your passion.

  • Outcome: Fully integrate the art of the yoga lifestyle.

Phase three: Illumination | Lead it - the teaching methodology

Now that the information [science] and the integration [art] have been completed, you move to the next phase in your training. By the time you reach this level, you will integrate the development of your teaching voice. You have a unique teaching voice, accessing it to craft your final class before graduation. This will also serve you as you guide others through their meditation during savasana.

Hands-on adjustments are what will separate you from the rest, your ability to deliver this will make every practice memorable. The power is in your hands and your voice, use them to create a lasting experience in every practice you deliver. As you conclude your classes, the art of Savasana is the “reward” for most yoga practitioners. There is an art to deliver the most crucial part of one's practice, you will learn to master this craft.

  • Outcome: Full immersion of the science and art of living, and teaching the power of yoga
