The house itself has a large garden boasting shady olive trees, salt water swimming pool and an extended herb and vegetable garden. The retreat features three bedrooms, of which 3 doubles with a shared bathroom, and one large bedroom with an attached bathroom (4 sleepers). On most days, yoga classes will take place on the wooden yoga deck in the garden, while bad weather sees the class head indoors.
The course will be an intensive course consisting of theory, practice and self study. Dr. Venky, an internationally acclaimed Indian yoga master will conduct this course. Through immersion in traditional and modern aspects of yogic practices, students are equipped with a repertoire of yoga practices that will enable them to meet the evolving needs of yoga students who seek to learn ancient as well as new forms of yoga practices such as Hatha, Power and Vinyasa yoga. This course turns avid practitioners of yoga into knowledgeable masters of this ancient science, under the guidance of experienced yoga master.
The study of Physiology and Anatomy equip aspiring yoga teachers with an awareness of the proper techniques of asana, pranayama, kriya and other yogic practices and understand the physiological response to mental activities and how yoga work as a therapy. Dr. Venkys knowledge of human physiology and yogic sciences enrich this teacher training course by sharing his holistic views on yogic practices, thus providing a plethora of exposure to the aspiring yoga instructor spanning ancient teachings and modern medical and scientific knowledge.

Dr. Venky is an internationally acclaimed Indian yoga master. His teachings take a scientific approach to the understanding of yogic practices. Students are made aware of the scientific explanations for practices like kriyas, bandha, asana, pranayama and meditation, and are thus better equipped to teach these practices in the secular setting of modern yoga centers and gyms.
The retreat will take place in Portugal's least developed region, the western Algarve. Algarve boasts nationally protected nature reserves, pristine beaches, wild coastlines, and dramatic jagged cliffs. The region is also home to Europes southwestern most point, Cabo de So Vicente (Cape St Vincent). All this is only 30 kilometers from the busy southern Algarve coast.

There are various airports to fly into, the closest one being Faro Airport. From here, a 1 hour and 15 minute trip by car takes you to the west coast. Please email directly to Prana Casa for further information
There are also cheap flights flying to Lisbon (3 hours drive) and Seville (Spain) and there is good public transportation from there to Lagos which takes around 4 hours.
You may also take a train or bus to Lagos, and then a taxi to the location. Prana Casa can happily arrange either a taxi and rental car for you.
