Course overview

The course comprises the study and practice of yogasanas, pranayama, mudras, bandhas, mantras, Yogic cleansing processes, the study of yoga anatomy and the most important yoga sutras. Pranamaya School of Yoga is aimed at training yogis to teach the real aspects of yoga. A yoga teacher must be able to connect and touch the lives of their students in some way. They should be present with positive energy and personality with attention to detail.

The 28 days program follows a carefully designed curriculum to empower you with the knowledge, wisdom, and confidence to teach. You will be learning Hatha yoga, being the primary form in addition to ashtanga and vinyasa. Mantra chanting will be taught in sanskrit with their meanings and benefits of chanting in English. You will be learning and experiencing meditation techniques like yoga Nidra and sound healing. Yoga therapies will be taught and discussed to cure diseases. Knowledge of Ayurveda and naturopathy shall be provided.

Pranayama and mantras

The mantras harmonize the body and the mind. It comes from naad yoga. Naad means "the essence of sounds". The sound vibrations raise your consciousness and create positive energy and mindset.

Pranayama: Prana means 'vital energy' or 'life force'. Pranayama utilizes the breath for the flow of prana in the nadis. Different practices of pranayama have different effects on the body and mind.

Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is the foundation of physical safety. A comprehensive study of:

Yoga philosophy

Every yoga student must be familiar with Patanjali's yoga sutras. The study of yoga philosophy will make students understand the origin of yoga, its branches, yoga sutras, teachings of Bhagavad Gita, Indian wisdom. The four chapters of Patanjali sutras will be discussed in detail namely: Samadhi pada, sadhana pada, vibhooti pada and kaivalya pada.

Teaching methodology and student support

The study of various techniques and body alignment will give you knowledge and confidence to teach and help students achieve different asanas. Students will be trained for sequencing the class structure and devise modifications for difficult asanas. This will also guide on connecting with your students and understanding their needs. Student support will be catered depending on student's needs. It can be done to inform students about the workings of Yoga Alliance, how to start as a new yoga teacher, how to market yourself, questions about any subject.

Amigosindia is located 1.5 kilometers from the Qutub Minar metro station. The airport is 14 kilometers away. It is accessible by cab and also the metro using the airport express line from terminal 3. The bus station and the New Delhi railway station are 30-35 minutes away from the school on the yellow line of the Delhi metro.
