These islands are easily accessible from Granada’s shoreline and provide a perfect setting for watching the sunset after a day of exploring the town’s cobbled roads.

In this treatment, extremely thin needles are inserted into very specific points along the energy meridians. Although the existence of Chi and the meridians along which Chi travels have not been proven to exist by western medicine, the beneficial results of acupuncture have been well-documented and accepted by the modern medical establishment.

Cupping therapy

Cupping therapy is a therapy which is using glass cups as suction devices that draw the blood towards the surface to improve circulation. Similar to acupuncture, cupping clears the energy meridians, providing the free flow of Chi.

Deep tissue massage

Similar to therapeutic massage, deep tissue massage involves more intense application of pressure.

Each part of the foot has a direct energetic connection with a part of the body and or internal organ. Applying acupressure on the feet can avoid or ease pain and discomfort, and promote the proper functioning of the various systems of the body.

Spinal adjustments

Spinal adjustments are applied to the spine to rectify, to strengthen, and to correct misalignments of the spine. The therapist will always inquire if you would like an adjustment in advance.

"I was studying Spanish for a month in Granada, Nicaragua, and I wanted to stay active during my visit so I signed up for an one month gym membership, which was very affordable and including fitness classes as well as access to all of the gym equipment. Included in the membership were yoga classes taught in Spanish twice a week. The instructor, Flor, was fantastic and practicing yoga in Spanish was a great way to improve my vocabulary and continue learning Spanish! Flor also spoke English if there were any questions. I highly recommend this zenned out oasis."

"I cannot say enough good things about it. First, I started communicating with owner Warren three months before my arrival. He arranged my pick up at the airport and room and assured me I would be "taken care of" during my two-week stay as I worked on my book project. He was so right. I have never experienced such a kind staff, an overall feeling of family. Warren was also kind enough to share email introductions with some locals working on education and health projects, an area I work in. "

"PURE is in the center of downtown Granada, two blocks from the main walking street. While PURE offers tasty and healthy meals three times a day, nearby, there are options for eating simple local food or slightly higher end meals. "

"PURE is essentially a colonial style, hacienda-like compound with a large open square in the middle, home to the large pet tortoise that strolls leisurely during the day. It was a meditative experience watching him as I enjoyed my freshly prepared vegetarian meals in the cafe or caught up on emails with a never ending café con leche nearby."

"As for the stand out staff, I have to start with the front desk management of Orlando and Grechell. Both helped me arrange treatments, classes, road trips to the coast and Managua. "

"Orlando was very generous with his time and shared many insights on youth growing up with few resources in Granada and risks that impacted health, safety and education. He also helped me identify further community groups involved in health and education, leading to me to create a local directory to community service or education agencies for volunteers."

"Jennifer, also at the front desk, was a delight to talk with and was most helpful arranging little trips around the city. Trust me, take Sebastian's self-defense courses that include martial arts stick fighting from the Philippines. He had me doing things with my body and concentration I didn't know was possible."

"I also enjoyed my personal yoga classes and personal coaching with Carlos. As for spa treatments, I enjoyed every massage and if I had to pick my favorite it would be the "relaxation massage" by Marvin, though burley Silvio worked out lots of kinks and was strong enough to lift my 6'3" frame with one hand. Rita gave a very soothing cool facial."

"Handyman Alan gets thanks for fixing my sunglasses as he kept the compound working. The night watchman Miguel should be rewarded for patiently letting me test out my google translate feature."

"My room was very basic, suiting my monk-like lifestyle. It is quiet at night and perfect for meditating or writing. I recommend staying at PURE to feel like part of their community."

"Warren and his staff are to be congratulated for creating a very unique, affordable and inspiring environment that is perfect for a personal retreat, yoga experience or a spa day. If you seek to take care of both body and soul, as well as connect with local community-minded folks in a genuine way, PURE is for you."

"While living in Granada for three months I spent a lot of time at PURE. They offer everything from yummy vegetarian meals, yoga, and fitness classes to massage, acupuncture and community. I love the breakfast bowl! Fruit, yogurt, and granola, and it is huge. Great alternative if you're tired of gallo pinto. Although they have excellent gallo pinto as well! Ruth is great for acupuncture and Maria Isabel was my favorite massage therapist. It is such a friendly, relaxing environment, a great safe haven to get away from chaos of the marketplace and busy touristy streets. They even sell Kombucha homemade! If you have food allergies, they are very accommodating as well. Just let them know, sin gluten or sin queso or leche."

"Great yoga classes. I went at different times and had several different teachers and really enjoyed the variety. They brought something different into their classes. The fitness equipments in the gym are dated but functional. Overall, it is a nice setting for a yoga and fitness center in the middle of Granada. I'd definitely recommend it and will return again myself."

"Amazing staff, food, and ambiance. Residents Snoopy the turtle and Clara the duck are extremely welcoming. Warren has definitely worked to build an authentic and very hospitable family at Pure. I highly recommend this gym/spa/yoga studio and I sampled all the services, no place in Granada can compare. Locals. I highly recommend. "
