During the training, there is the option of staying at the actual training venue which is a yoga resort itself, or stay in resorts within a few minutes walking distance to the venue. There is the choice of traditional Thai wooden bungalows, or more modern plush concrete rooms, fan or air-con, private bathroom, single/double bed, twin or triple share allocation. Rooms are clean, bright and furnished according to your selection.

Two of the resorts Pure Nature Yoga uses have their own small swimming pools. Scooters and bicycles are easy to rent to get around and find yourself in some unknown terrain in Koh Yao Noi and enjoy the fantasy-like nature of this little island gem.

Bookings are depending on which is available at the time of inquiry and also whether another student may be interested in sharing a bungalow.

Vegetarian buffet breakfast can be requested on an individual basis at the YTT Venue (not included in the price). Lunch and dinner are taken at students own discretion.

Pure Nature Yoga’s focus is to provide students with thorough theoretical and experiential practice and to keep teachings ‘real’ and relevant, adapted for the modern body and lifestyle. A strong component in experiential anatomy, functional alignment, physical assessment, injury prevention, structural imbalances, back and pelvic care, will offer direct insight in to how to use asana safely and effectively. Learn the therapeutic essentials needed for making yoga accessible to special populations such as beginners, the elderly, women’s health, chronic stress, anxiety, low mood states, and trauma sensitive. Be better prepared to deal with private clients one-on-one and those with limitations in a group class setting.

We engage wholeheartedly in a yogic lifestyle and learn how to incorporate philosophy, yogic and Buddhist psychology, and the tools of yoga to find purpose and fulfillment in life. Asana, pranayama, anatomy, energetics, sound and mindfulness are interwoven throughout the course to take your practice to the next level, and to build a solid foundation to teach skilfully.

Discover the art of teaching, voice and language, adjustments, sequencing, and theming with plenty of actual teaching practice. Learn to teach from a multi-faceted approach with skill, integrity and grace. Gain clarity, confidence, intuition, acceptance, and deep connection to guide others in the highest and best way. You will begin teaching right away from day two of the course, undertaken in partner work, then in small groups, gradually building up to teach the whole class. Learn to teach in a way that is empowering for others, and to lead well-rounded classes with a special focus or outcome. We believe that to be the best teacher you can, is to take a holistic perspective on yoga, and raise the bar of yoga teaching.

Holistic healing with sound (Nada Yoga) is a powerful component of the training, being a transformative tool to restore balance and harmonize the cells. Sound, frequency, and vibration are one of the most powerful tools to release stress, remove emotional blocks and activate self-healing mechanisms in the body. The power of sound opens up the vibrational field of resonance to induce a deep meditative state and bring deep transformation on all levels of being. Learn how to incorporate sound, voice, mantra and Sanskrit into your classes, and how to play singing bowls and tuning forks, as well as for basic one-on-one treatments. Gong ceremonies and sound baths will also be held weekly to deepen your own personal experience.

Meditation and mindfulness practices are also an important aspect, to cultivate awareness and essentially embody the practice. The techniques are sourced from traditional yogic methods such as mantra and calm abiding, loving kindness and mindful awareness practices from the Buddhist tradition. A daily seated meditation practice is an integral part of our training including periods of silence (mauna) in the mornings and some evenings to support a deeper insight into one’s essential nature.

The main practice is Hatha yoga as a functional alignment-based slow flow, with emphasis on the breath, energetics of the pose and internal focus of the mind. Influenced by the more dynamic flow practices as well as Vinyasa Krama as taught by Sri T. Krishnamacharya, honoring the ancient origins of yoga. We teach you how to use Yoga skilfully for a specific outcome, as a tool for deep change. Full poses, adaptations and variations are taught, ratios of breath, bandha, mudra, mantra, sound, bhavana, meditation, ritual, guided self-inquiry, relaxation, lifestyle practices, and their appropriate application as an inner process. We empower you to find what your individual expression of Yoga is.

Chinese Taoist arts are also utilized to stimulate the meridians (energy channels), encourage healthy organ function, and harness internal energy, working with the elements of the Chinese Taoist system. Gentle Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga practices increase receptivity, creating a deeply profound practice that invites deep listening and presence.

An insightful immersion that connects to the cycles of nature, the earth, the sky, and with the 5 elements. Discover the art of ceremony and ritual creating sacred space and time, opening up to vision, prayer, intention (sankalpa), and the group energy of sharing and interconnectedness during New and Full Moon Ceremonies.

The training opens setting sacred intention with the New Moon, then harnesses the energies of the Full Moon after Module 1 as you step into the role of a teacher, an opportunity to let go of what no longer serves you under the stars in a Full Moon Beach Circle Ceremony and Fire Blessing. This programme culminates once again on the New Moon to set an intention for your new life path.

There will be some weekly evening events including group sound bath, gong ceremony, new and full moon ceremonies, voice work, and conscious cinema to deepen your experience. This one-month intensive training balances nicely by treating yourself to a local Thai massage. These can be much more therapeutic and in-depth than other forms of massage and relieve muscle tension greatly.

Learn how to get started as a Yoga Instructor with ethical business and marketing, as well as furthering your own education in the future. Discover how to use the skills and life experiences you already have to be unique in what you offer. Approach Yoga as a career pathway ethically and build a strong community base. Understand how to market your offerings face to face and online.

Know the legal aspects of your business such as insurance and liability, what to expect to earn as a Yoga Instructor, and how to register as a Yoga Instructor with International Yoga Alliance. Graduates at the 200-hour level gain a solid foundation and comprehensive knowledge in the theory and practices of Hatha Yoga, Sound, and Mindfulness. These teachers will be highly competent instructors in group classes and private one-on-ones.

With a strong component in therapeutic essentials, and holistic well-being their depth of knowledge and experience will enable them to lead well-rounded classes with a special focus, and develop a personal practice for themselves.

This 200h Teacher Training prepares students for a rewarding career as a skilled and proficient Hatha Yoga Instructor, with the ability to make modifications for structural limitations and emotional health. It also provides a strong foundation for further certification in the field of Yoga Therapy in the future. This course enables you to register as a 200h Certified Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance.

Specialized teachers

A fully immersive programme led and supported by Roni Miteff, ERYT 500 (highest level), as well as a Certified IAYT Yoga Therapist (International Assoc. of Yoga Therapists), Integral Sound Therapist, and Tibetan Buddhist practitioner. The curriculum exceeds Yoga Alliance requirements for total contact hours and hours with lead teacher.

Roni’s team includes a highly qualified Osteopath, Rachel Ellery, delivering the Anatomy & Physiology module. Kimberly Ashton, a Yin Yoga, and Yoga Nidra teacher as well as Reiki and Sound Healing practitioner, and Macrobiotic Counsellor. Jyothipriya, a Yogini, and Voice & Mantra Facilitator. Finally Masha Fomina, Programme Assistant, and lecturer of Philosophy and Ayurveda.

Accreditation

The curriculum exceeds the standards of the International Yoga Alliance, through which it is accredited. On successful completion of the training, you will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement and be able to register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT 200. This 200h Teacher Training prepares students for a rewarding career as a skilled and proficient Hatha Yoga Instructor, with the ability to make modifications for structural limitations and emotional health.

Successful graduates of this training program will receive a Certificate of Achievement from Pure Nature Yoga for Integrative Sound Therapy. Graduates are able to move onto Level 1 Integrative Vibrational Therapy (IVT) in the future in collaboration with IASH, India (International Academy of Sound Healing) and Dimitri Miteff (Yoga Sound Therapy).

Course structure

The course is presented in two modules which allow you to build upon the skills in a methodical way. The first two weeks are dedicated to your own personal embodiment of the practice and cultivation of awareness, establishing the fundamental principles of yoga. Small daily teaching assignments will also be interwoven so that you are actually instructing from day one.

The third and fourth weeks focus on empowerment and how to transmit the teachings effectively to others, including to special populations and through therapeutic essential techniques of yoga. The teaching assignments increase each week until you finally teach to the entire group.

The training is held 6 days per week which includes 3.5 hours of practice, and 5.5 hours of lectures, anatomical study, asana technique and teaching practice. We enjoy 1 day off per week to rest, explore the island, or do self-practice and study. There will be some weekly evening gatherings including Group Sound Baths, New & Full Moon Gong Ceremonies, Yoga Nidra, and Mantra to deepen your experience. Some evenings may include some study of relevant topics, assignments and self-reflection.

Location

Koh Yao Noi (“long, little island” in Thai), is located in the very picturesque Phang Nga Bay between Krabi and Phuket and is the most up-and-coming destination in southern Thailand. One of the lesser developed islands of Western Thailand known for its natural beauty and serenity. Found just a 30-minute speedboat trip away from Phuket, Yao Noi's tight-knit local Muslim community has led the island along a more low-impact, peaceful development path. This provides the perfect sanctuary for in-depth practice and solitude.

The 140-square-kilometre island is about half the size of neighboring Koh Yao Yai. The east side has sandy beaches with superb views of the towering limestone rocks of the bay, suitable for swimming and snorkeling. The west is a photogenic landscape blend of rice flats, mangrove forests, and pine trees. Rubber tree plantations and coconut groves can also be seen all over the island. Accommodation wise the island is a mix of high-end plush resorts such as Six Senses, and Paradise Island Resort, as well as traditional low-medium budget wooden bungalows.

This training unfolds in the beautiful wooden ‘Lotus Shala’ (Jul/Aug training), or modern concrete 'Bhakti Hall' situated on the east side, by the beach and the mangroves where you can welcome the sunrise. It provides a safe nurturing space where you can explore and integrate the teachings effectively. With fewer distractions around, it allows for deep relaxation and integral growth, allowing your full immersion into the practice in the most tranquil environment.

The shala is located in a resort with a restaurant, Yogi Cafe, chill out area and swimming pool. A few local Thai restaurants, small shop, and massage parlor are within 5 minutes walking distance. It is about 10 minutes' walk to the long tail pier (to Krabi), and more local restaurants, and also an ambient Italian restaurant in the other direction, especially good for the evenings. Also, a pretty little health café run by a German lady is a favorite with students just 20 minutes' walk away. To get further afield and into the small main town, about 15 minutes by scooter, it is recommended to hire a scooter or bicycle.

Food is not expensive in Thailand, local eateries charge around 60-150 THB per meal, including vegetarian. If you wish to eat organic, vegan, vegetarian Western health cafe food then 80-250 THB per meal.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

International flights arrive at Bangkok International Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). If you are flying with Air Asia they will arrive at Don Mueang International Airport (DMK). Depending on your home country, you will even be able to fly directly to Phuket instead of Bangkok.

From Bangkok, take an internal flight or overnight bus / train to Phuket. If for some reason you are coming from East Thailand then Krabi will be your port of call.

It is easier to access the island via Phuket which has more flight and ferry options than Krabi. Flying into Phuket, the last ferry departs at 5:40 p.m. From Krabi, the last ferry departs at 5:30 p.m.

Arrival by ferry from Phuket

  • From the airport, take a taxi to Bang Rong Pier approximately 25 minutes (600 THB).
  • Catch the ferry to Koh Yao Noi. 30 minutes by speedboat at 200 THB per person or 1 hour by long tail at 120 THB per person. The first ferry leaves at 7:30 a.m. and the ferries run approximately every hour till 5:40 p.m.
  • Take a shared taxi to Ulmar's Nature Lodge (Island Yoga) for 20 minutes at 150 THB per person. Do not worry, there are always taxis waiting at the pier, no need to pre-book one.

Arrival by ferry from Krabi

  • From the airport, take a taxi to Tha Lane Pier approximately 45 minutes at 700 - 800 THB.
  • Catch the ferry to Koh Yao Noi. Ferries leave every hour starting at 9 a.m. and finishing at 5:30 p.m., 30 minutes by speedboat at 200 THB or 1 hour by long tail at 150 THB.
  • Take a taxi to Ulmar’s Nature Lodge (Island Yoga). The 5-minute taxi ride costs 50 THB per person or you can walk to the Nature Lodge in 15 minutes. There is an option from Krabi Town using bus. This route is a little more complex. Please ask locals or the tourist information in Krabi town for bus times to Tha Lane pier.
