Join the one-month intensive yoga teacher training in India. It will be held at Bamboo River, a new riverside retreat in South Goa in a uniquely peaceful, beautiful location deep in the heart of nature. Lara Baumann, founder of Quantum Yoga, and experienced 500-hour Quantum Yoga teacher Sally-Anne Sweeney will be running the course. Dr. Matthew Clark will be lecturing on various specialized subjects such as Samkhya philosophy, sadhu culture, Tantra, and basic Sanskrit. 500-hour Quantum Yoga teacher Nadine Bader will teach a thorough and fun anatomy and physiology program, as well as offering general assistance throughout the training.
You will be accommodated in one of the unique back-to-nature cabanas. All cabanas are individually decorated, and always comprise some form of charming study / chill-out option, such as a veranda with deck chairs, a balcony with planter chairs, hammocks etc. Fashioned from local materials like rice straw, and bamboo, the cabanas are built to include trees, leaves, and to let you see the moon and star-filled skies. The living areas combine a rural feel with a surprising degree of comfort. The majority of the cabanas have attached bathrooms. Those not having directly attached facilities have a reserved private bathroom a few paces away.
Students who complete their subsequent training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
The teacher training is suitable for those who want to embark on a career as a yoga teacher, teachers who would like to improve their current skills, as well as yogis who simply would like to deepen their understanding and improve their practice. Trainees often start as students and then decide to dedicate themselves more seriously to the study, investigation, and propagation of yoga. Some have had experience elsewhere and have reached a level where they feel ready to consider teaching. Others may have no intention of leaving their current work, but simply want to develop the knowledge and ability to confidently guide others in this rewarding practice.
The intensive teacher training will cover all aspects of yoga along with detailed instruction in the Quantum method and how to teach it. The study of Ayurveda, the science of life, will result in an understanding of how this informs not only the emphasis in one’s yoga practice but also the effects of such lifestyle choices as food, recreational activities, creams, and massage oils, etc. You will explore the roots of the yoga tradition, learning about its history within the socio-cultural context of India from ancient times to the present day, as well as its links to other mystical traditions and its role internationally today.
Students will learn about a variety of systems and styles. Using the Quantum method of yoga, apprentices will eventually gain the ability to assess what practice is appropriate for themselves and their prospective students and learn how to creatively construct balanced flowing Vinyasa yoga sequences. As the Quantum method advocates Vinyasa (breath-synchronized movement) as a primary mode of practice, most asana classes will be of a dynamic nature. Pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation practice will also form a daily part of the practice.
There will be a variety of modules covering such themes as anatomy and physiology, adjustments, therapeutic yoga, post and prenatal yoga, yoga for children, asana names, groupings and sequencing techniques, ancient scriptures such as the Vedas and Upanishads, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita and the Hatha yoga Pradipika, Sanskrit, Ayurveda, Buddhism, Tantra, etc. Where applicable out-of-house specialists will run the modules.
Teaching will be both practical and theoretical on a group and individual basis, and there is a requirement for you to spend your own time reading and keeping a yoga diary. Quantum Yoga works to a full and exciting schedule: all teaching and assessment will take place at Bamboo River and you will then have until 14th April 2020 to submit your 2,500-word essay which will complete your training and qualify you for certification.
If you are interested, please send an inquiry to Quantum Yoga as soon as possible. They will send you an interview form, which will give you and them the opportunity to confirm your suitability for and interest in the program.
Lara Baumann teaches the Quantum Method of yoga to all levels of students worldwide. Her objective is to guide people in developing an optimal, powerful, healing, and sacred practice that leads to health, happiness, and enlightenment. Lara runs Yoga Alliance certified teacher training courses in Sri Lanka, India, and the UK. She has now settled in Galle with her husband.
Sally-Anne explored her love of yoga by experimenting with many yoga styles, finally discovering a style she loved in Jivamukti and Vinyasa Flow. Private classes with the incredible Mischa Varmuza helped her to progress further and was overjoyed to get the opportunity to train in India with Quantum Yoga Founder, Lara Baumann, and the wonderful Judith Daniel. Sally-Anne teaches in London, Goa, and beyond, bringing high energy and good vibes to her Quantum Yoga classes. Expect a dynamic, flowing, Vinyasa yoga, practiced to an uplifting beat using Ayurveda to tune into your body-minds.
