Hunting Lodge, 1154 Route d'Encos, 40500 Coudures, France

Hatha-Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training the Landes

This listing has one of the 10 most popular offers available in France

Back to nature and back to simple living. The foundational course combines the ancient philosophy with a modern approach to yoga in a very quiet countryside location away from the noise, distraction, the busyness and stress of towns and the city. The location is in a family-run property in rural France, a 17th-century manor house with views of rolling hills, 6 acres of private grounds, a little wood at the edge of the property that leads to a lake reservoir, views of low sweeping hills and the Pyrenees at a distance on a bright sunny day. Enjoy the countryside walks in the rural village, forest and lake.

RainbowLight Centre for Yoga Art & Science has been delivering yoga teacher training courses since 2015. This is a 22-day 200hr accredited by Foundational Yoga Alliance teacher training course. At the end of the course, you will be able to register with Yoga Alliance as RYT200 (Registered Yoga Teacher). The course is a combination of lectures, workshops, and practice hours. Students need to complete two 30 minute practical teaching tests and two one hour practical teaching tests as well as written exams.

Important notice: In the spirit of Santosha, practicing contentment and detachment, please note that our rooms and halls not heated or air-conditioned and food served is plain and simple.

The training will be conducted in English especially for the philosophy and anatomy sections. There is a manual in French and some of the lecturers have translations. Additionally, you can take your practical tests and exams in French. This course is not recognized by pole emploi.

Program

Back to simple living

At the Coudures retreat, we encourage our students to embrace simple living and challenge themselves to let go of their attachments to city comforts. In the spirit of santosha- the practice of contentment and detachment, our rooms and halls are not heated or air-conditioned and food served is plain and simple (served 3 times daily).

it is our wish that students take advantage of the opportunity to be in these quiet peaceful, simple surroundings to retreat, discover the inner self and deepen their spiritual practice which to us, what yoga is primarily about.

The location is rural France which is very tranquil and peaceful, away from towns and noise. If you wish to do some touristic activities and see some attractions, please plan these before or after the training.

The 200 hours will be divided into 4 learning according to the Yoga Alliance core curriculum:

  • Yoga Philosophy
  • Teaching methodology
  • Techniques, training, and practice
  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Professional Essentials

Of the 200hr Yoga Alliance program, 160 hours are required as contact hours and the rest, non-contact. Lead instructors are required to teach 150 hours and the rest can be taught by one other or a team of teachers. In Coudures, in the summer months, the lead instructor Serena Ross is supported by other teachers, some auxillary and some co-lead teachers whose names do not appear here as they are different teachers in each training. If you wish more information on co-teacher bios, please send an email.

The RainbowLight Yoga program is a spiritually focused course with emphasis on yoga philosophy, practice, and meditation. Our anatomy section is mainly on inner-body anatomy (chakras and nadis / energy body).

Here are some things to do to prepare yourself for the course:

  • If you do not yet have a regular meditation practice yet, please start now (about 7-10 minutes a day for beginners, 10-20minutes a day for progressing students).
  • Please read The Yoga Sutras of Master Patanjali (I recommend the commentaries by Geshe Michael Roach or Swami Sachidananda) and the Bhagavad Gita (I suggest that you read this in full and original text instead of commentary) and finally the Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda

Please also note that meals provided during the course are based on a vegetarian diet.
