  • Your admittance in the course is not enough to qualify for the Yoga Alliance endorsed teacher’s training certificate. Disciplined, sincere behavior, willingness to study sincerely, passing the writing assignment, and teaching asana class with satisfactory display of knowledge and performance is necessary.
  • Punctuality and 100% attendance for all the classes is mandatory. Missed classes, if any, must be rescheduled with an extra cost with teacher’s available time. Sammasati Retreat does not entertain people who come just for certificates.
  • Rude or arrogant behavior with fellow students, teachers, and management will not be expected. Be respectful to yourself and to others. Remember that you are on path of yoga and meditation.

General Guidelines for the 200-hour yoga training participants

  • Come with an open, receptive mind and heart to learn and study. Let go of the limiting labels and stories about yourself.
  • The secret to be a good teacher is to be a good student. Be total and sincere in your yoga practice and study; be in the present moment, in this way you will not only learn yoga, but you will allow transformation to unfold within you.
  • Keep in mind that every school and teacher has a unique program to share. Comparing this training with your previous training may be inhibiting to your learning process.
  • Sleep before 22:00 in order to wake up on time to start the day with energy, freshness and punctuality. Avoid yawning in the classes. Yawning and sleepiness will not be allowed in the class.
  • Practicing non-attachment and being non-judgmental toward yourself and others will expand your heart and mind. Following ethical precepts of the yamas and niyamas, practicing mindfulness, gratitude, and patience will enrich your life.
  • Questions are welcome in the classes but Sammasati Retreat suggests participants to keep their personal stories outside of the classroom to use limited time for learning more. Argumentative discussions are not allowed.
  • Keep the yoga hall clean. After using the mats or yoga props take them to their original place.
  • Keep in mind that yoga is a vast field and this course is a foundation training course that introduces the essential aspects of yoga. Even though this program will be allowing the student to learn, practice and teach further study is suggested.

Healing the body, mind and emotions in the yoga training program

In this yoga training program practice of asanas, pranayama, kriyas, meditation, and vegetarian diet body will detoxify and heal. Sometimes participants may experience positive and negative moods, this is the part of healing and Sammasati Retreat suggests the participants not to repress or resist the process, yet also be mindful not to disturb other participants, teachers, or management. Just be focused on the present moment and allow the negative field of energy to pass from the mind. Identification with the negative energy and sharing it with others can hinder the healing process.

The changes of my body are here, but the greatest changes are probably the way I see life now compared to how it was before. I am glad that I could meet Lizet and Reshma and the confidence they gave be for teaching makes me feel very happy!”"

  • Review by Rachel from USA

"“I feel calmer than before I started the course. When I came here, yoga was part of my day on the days I made time for it. Now, it’s evident to me that it will become part of my life - from the practice I incorporate into my daily routine, to the way I eat, to the awareness I have of myself and of the people and goings-on around me and throughout the world. My eyes and world got a little bigger while being here.”"
