This training is part of a 300 hours TTC and is suitable for you who really want to deepen your yoga study, either you wish to apply for yoga teacher certification or just want to dive deep for yourself-knowledge. Besides 2 weeks of hands-on training, we offer online study 100-hour to complete TTC300.
Multi-style approach and easy problem-based learning. This program is an evolution of Vinyasa yoga, Ashtanga yoga, Yin yoga, Tibetan yoga, and Restorative yoga enabling simplicity with ease in learning and practice. The program is designed by Zenit Yoga Norway and hosted by Samvidyoga and Retreats, in Croatia. Together with 100-hour online training prior to or post the retreat, you are ready to earn a 300-hour Yoga Alliance certificate.
Enjoy coming back in time, in serene surroundings, and experience the true joy of living remotely on the unspoiled island of Iz. The hotel, where you will stay, is clean and monk-like simple, with spacious rooms facing the sea. The hotel has a beautiful outdoor yoga shala and two indoor shalas. With its relaxing scent of pine trees, and laidback atmosphere, as well as crystal clear waters, your process of learning will be well supported.

Beside core teacher team, Viggo, Kirsten, and myself, you will meet online neuroscientist Viktoria, psychologist Kristin, bodywork kinesiologist Nikola, Yin yoga expert Andrija, trauma-sensitive trained yogini Linsey, yoga space architect Anja, and assisting teachers Vanja and Ivana.
An excellent and thoughtfully chosen international teacher team - Lea, Kirsten, Viggo, and amazing guest teachers in their field of expertise (neuroscience, psychology, philosophy, bodywork) - is well established in their interdisciplinary insights, gained through decades of research and teachings in yoga, meditation, and body-mind oriented therapy.
Students will enjoy a natural and practical approach to understanding the value of different yoga styles, meditation, mindfulness, and breath-work and learn how to balance challenging as well as soft techniques with an aim to support individual practitioner’s needs.
This program is an enjoyable journey into self-discovery, challenging comfort-zone, but rewarding with insights, excitement about the knowledge gained and enthusiasm to share it with others. The main aim of the program is to help a student to broaden his/her awareness about yoga, breathing, meditation, teachings, embodiment, and ecology, and be able to put into practice and teachings such as expanded awareness.
The program allows ashtanga yogis to understand the value of Yin and Restorative yoga, and Hatha yogis to balance their practices by introducing more challenging practices, and all participants to discover the benefits of a unique style of Tibetan yoga. This course allows you to start to teach and develop your skills from the very beginning of the course. Working directly with a teacher, in groups, practicing teaching, preparing lectures, solving tasks, including constructive feedback from your mentors - With such an approach, you as a student proactively engage, and put immediately into practice knowledge gained.
The course also emphasizes nourishment, food choices and ecological awareness, and how to practice and teach yoga with a mission to improve the world - before transcending it. This program will prepare you to progress from your individual starting point, then enhancing self-confidence and the ability to teach yoga. Along with rising ecological consciousness and the need for peace and compassion through yogic lifestyle and teachings.
There will also be discussions on current challenges for modern yogis to discover their individual path (dharma) and practice (sadhana). Immersing into this course is your treasured opportunity to expand awareness physically, mentally, and spiritually. This will then create more space in your life for learning and sharing yoga with expanded confidence and clarity of your newly acquired direction. The program includes 14 days of intensive retreat coursework.
Refine your yoga practice, wherever you are in your current yoga approach. Explore similarities and differences in main yoga approaches - dynamic practices such as vinyasa or ashtanga or soft practices such as yin or restorative yoga. Identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches. Bring mindfulness to both dynamic and soft practices and teachings.
Study asanas originated from scriptures such as Hatha Yoga Pradipika or Gheranda Samhita and compare them to modern yoga approaches. Learn about intelligent alignment and adjustment to make yoga positioning functional, light, and easy. Learn how to adapt to asana sessions, understand principles underpinning quality variations and modifications. Hands-on and verbal adjustments with training in touch sensibility, biomechanics of yoga, and subtle verbal guidance that help embody yoga asanas.
Learn specific adjustments for special needs yoga (such as trauma-sensitive yoga approach or pregnancy yoga); learn the proper use of props (external tools) and mental cues (internal tools) activating body-intelligence.
Study and application of pranayamas, awareness of the breath, and different breath techniques from both traditional yogas as well as modern breathwork studies and mindfulness study. Learn about the proper use of breathing techniques, their benefits, and contraindications. Practicing awareness on body parts, and subtle exercises of (mudras).
Guidance in the practice of main 6 kriyas, with emphasis on neti-sutra regular practice as well as nauli kriya and learning tantric advanced tratak practices (eye exercises). The practice of one-day fasting and silence and understanding the benefits of such practices in yoga and environmental context. Eating plant-based for the entire retreat training. Spending quiet time in nature as part of the daily withdrawal.
Understand the mechanisms of different methods and techniques of yoga meditation and relaxation, including tantric yoga Nidra relaxation, gong bath, Japa, mantra, and Vipassana meditation. Deepening and learning about mindfulness meditation and mindful living and its effect on body, feelings, mind, and perception of reality. Use of mindfulness in everyday actions.
Self-awareness as a teacher and continuous improvement by developing teaching skills and communication skills, as well as group-psychology skills relevant to yoga settings. Moving from technical /basic instruction towards sharing by example and transmission of knowledge and yoga experience by sincere presence.
Presenting concepts such as holding space, humble, non-invasive teaching style; silent support in teachings, time management, class priorities, managing challenging students, creating a sacred atmosphere.
Practical learning about creating an ethical and sustainable yoga business plan; yoga yearly planning (forecast); how to budget retreats and teacher training, and how to handle challenging business-related decisions in a yogic way. Learning about how to balance being an authentic yoga teacher, through using personal communication and ethics in business.
A deeper understanding of the movement and functioning of the human body. A deeper understanding of safe adjustments. Proper understanding of the effects of vinyasa vs soft styles such as yin yoga on human body Facilitating students with injury and keep the practice safe.
How to use the practice of asana to teach students to move more optimally, both on their mat and in everyday life. How to identify our students' current movement patterns as well as what aspects of movement are limiting them in their practice.
Understanding of the human constitution according to Indian teachings on the subtle body (koshas, chakras, nadis, and prana) Linking the practice of pranayama to the theory of the subtle body. Linking pranayama to the practice of yogic withdrawal (pratyahara).
Comparative study of yoga texts (Patanjali, B.Gita, Vedanta, Kashmir Shaivism). Applying yoga wisdom to current modern life challenges. Clarifying different concepts constituting the idea of liberation (turiya, moksha, kaivalya, Samadhi), relation to the world, relationships that lead to calm. Understanding cultural context and limitations of traditions. Reading and creating yoga poetry describing expanded consciousness.
Learning how to prepare a lecture on a yoga theme and present the lecture within a given time scope. Learning and practising how to give an ad-hoc lecture on chosen topics and provide wise feedback to students based on yoga lineage and literature. Practice how to teach different yoga philosophical concepts - both as a lecture and by example integrating those in the class.
Designing and teaching a class to other trainees and with different scenarios in mind (special needs, groups or private class, dynamic, hard (Vinyasa, Ashtanga) or soft (Yin, Restorative) style. Observing other trainees and giving constructive feedback on different aspects of the class (pace, voice, structure, theme, atmosphere).
Lea (E-RYT 500, M.Sc. Psychology) is a dedicated yogini, with over 25 years of experience in yoga. Her background is Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Integral, Sivananda, and Therapeutic yoga, which she has studied with legends such as Swami Satchidananda, K.Pattabhi Jois, or Tulku Lopsang Rimpoche. Lea is also inspired by Buddhist Vipassana meditation and is an advocate of the vegan culture. Her work and writings have inspired and motivated hundreds of people to change their lifestyle habits and improve their health. Lea is a founder of Zenit Yoga studio, Norway, and a University researcher and lecturer.
Kirsten is a New Zealand trained physiotherapist and yoga teacher (RYT500). Originally from Denmark, she spent 15 years in New Zealand, where she obtained a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy and a Postgraduate Certificate of Health Science in Western Acupuncture. Kirsten has worked in clinical physiotherapy for over 10 years and teaches yoga both in the studio setting, as well as in the physical rehabilitation setting. She is currently living in Copenhagen and is also an active writer and health and wellbeing blogger.
Viggo lived as a Buddhist monk for four years (1994-1998). After this, he majored in philosophy at the University of Oslo (completed 2004) and three years of further education in cognitive therapy, at Sct. Hans Hospital in Roskilde, Denmark (completed 2009). In 2013, he came out with the book Inner Silence, and in 2015 with Silent Witness, both are published at Arneberg Forlag. Viggo is researching the relationship between body-mind and as a result, he has based his work on integrating the Eastern wisdom traditions with the latest innovations in brain research and cognitive psychology.

Of all the Croatian islands, you have surely not heard of this one - Iz island. It is a local, hidden, self-effacing beauty, 45 minutes boat ride from the magical city of Zadar, in central Dalmatia. Known mostly to sailors and nature lovers, Iz is one of many remote islands of the Adriatic Sea, at the door of a national park Kornati.
Boasting a historic old town of Roman ruins, medieval churches, cosmopolitan cafes, and quality museums set on a small peninsula, Zadar is an intriguing city. It’s not too crowded, it’s not overrun with tourists, and its two unique attractions - the sound-and-light spectacle of the Sea Organ and the Sun Salutation - need to be seen and heard to be believed.
