Certifications

The course/hours count as Continuing Education hours for Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®) only.

  • An experiential retreat that aims to help you deepen your self-practice, give you a strong understanding of the metaphysics of yoga/meditation, and provide you with the skills to go deeper on your own
  • This retreat is designed to be deeply experiential. The theory is minimal, just enough to support you in receiving the full benefit of the practices.
  • Practices from the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra – one of the central texts of Kashmiri Shaivism
  • Learn empowering practices designed to activate strong energy without overwhelming the nervous system.
  • Practice an array of yoga poses and breathing exercises, which may contain bandha, mudra, and mantra practices for harnessing and transforming energy.
  • Discover your innate ability to shape your state of being.
  • Gain tools that help to liberate you from compulsive thoughts and actions.
  • Cultivate meaningful and lasting relationships with your peers and instructors.
  • Get a taste of classical tantra; rituals, yantra, and mantra initiations.

Kundalini Rising is an experiential retreat that aims to help you deepen your self-practice, give you a strong understanding of the metaphysics of yoga/meditation, and provide you with the skills to go deeper on your own.

Daily schedule:

This is a sample schedule and is subject to change.

  • 07:30 - 12:30 Morning practice: The day begins with meditation and a kundalini yoga practice followed by a short break for breakfast. After breakfast will be a lecture offering context for the different techniques and philosophies being taught. The lecture is followed by meditation/concentration techniques and then lunch.
  • 12:30 - 15:00 Lunch and rest: Enjoy time for rest and quiet reflection.
  • 15:00 - 18:00 / 18:30 Afternoon practice: The afternoon will follow a similar schedule of practice, meditation, and movement and conclude with yoga Nidra. You will have an opportunity to ask questions during the Q&A slots.

Location

Samyama Mindfulness Meditation Center is situated in a unique location that is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by jungle and rice fields in a tropical paradise. It is only a five-minute drive to town but you will feel far away from the hustle and bustle. Samyama is located south of central Ubud, in the Banjar of Kumbuh, Mas. Their neighbors include local warungs or cafes, other resorts and villas, a fabulous health club, one of the best restaurants in Ubud, and more, all within walking distance. It is a one-hour drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS).

Food

All meals will be provided by Samyama Eatery. Healthy vegan dishes are prepared with fresh, local ingredients, and superfoods. Their restaurant will share their love of healthy eating and living throughout the retreat, supporting your practice in a pleasant and tasty way. During the retreat, they want you to feel good and at ease so you don’t have to think about meal planning.
