Mantra chanting

Chanting the powerful, spiritual mantras helps in the union of body with the mind. It will surely give you a deeply philosophical experience.

Shatkarma

Shatkarma is basically the six purification techniques that aim to clean the body, free from all the diseases. More than this, it improves the flow of prana into the organs of the body.

Mudra

Yoga Mudras means a gesture that facilitates the flow of energy in the body of an individual.

Bandha

Alignments

Your yoga teacher training courses focus on body alignments, which means doing poses or asanas in an effortless state of the body, according to the body composition of individual. Alignments are very significant to understand any style of yoga practice.

Meditation

Observing your deep breaths which help to still your mind for a few minutes, and keep it is away from all unnecessary thoughts; this is meditation. There are mainly four types of meditation. Satya Yoga Academy focus on traditional Himalayan meditation, healing meditation, crystal meditation, and sound meditation.

Teaching methodology

Ayurvedic massage

During this yoga teacher training, Satya Yoga Academy offers a 30 hours Ayurvedic massage (Abhyanga) course (this course is not mandatory). This will reinforce your Indian culture knowledge and will give you an extra skill as you will receive an Ayurvedic massage school certificate at the end of the training.

Abhyanga massage is an oil massage finding its roots in South India. Abhyanga is deeply linked to India's traditional medicine and also to a more global wellness approach to everyday life (food, plant-based therapy, essential oil therapy, Vedic philosophy). Indians practice Abhyanga as well as a daily routine, as a health therapy: Ayu = life and Veda = science, knowledge.

Ayurvedic massage is based on Doshas balance and harmonization: vata (air), pitta (fire) and kapha (water). Practitioners adjust the massage accordingly to each person and choose the right therapeutically supplements (oil, food) in order to balance body vital energies.

  • Vata (air): slow, constant, enfold massage, using warm oil.
  • Pitta (fire): deep, tonic and invigorating massage, using oil at room temperature.
  • Kapha (water): stimulating, dynamic, invigorating massage, using little oil.

Ayurvedic massage is traditionally practiced on the floor or on a table. It is a very enfold and relaxing full body massage. It is one of the most global body massages and the face-skull part of it is very important as it can take up to 40minutes. The massage includes a gentle slide, wringing, Kneading, shaking and smoothly balanced. To make a long explanation short: it is a great relaxing and let go the moment

The guides:

Ramakrishna Paramhamsa

He was a very famous 19th-century saint who practiced all religions and who demonstrated that each religion is a path to enlightenment.

Here are some of his thoughts: "We should practice each religion for some time - Hinduism, Islam, Christianity."So I followed the paths of the Shaktas (disciples of Shiva), Vaishnavas (disciples of Krishna), and Vedantists (those who believe in non-duality). I realized that there is only one God to whom all travel, but that we take different paths."

Swami Satyananda Saraswati

In the 21st century, where there will be discussion on tantra and yoga as applied sciences, the name of Swami Satyananda Saraswati will always be relevant. He was a disciple of Swami Sivananda Saraswati of Rishikesh and an authority on all branches of yoga.

Here are some of his thoughts: “Yoga is not an ancient myth that has been forgotten. It is the most important legacy of the present. It is an essential need of today and of the culture of tomorrow."

“Whatever binds you or limits you, set yourself free now. There is nothing in the outside world, no person, no condition, no circumstance that can take your freedom from your mind. Instead of wishing to be free, to live your life differently, accept now, that in truth you are free, free to change your way of thinking, free to change your way of seeing life, free to be whatever you want to be. Make this day a day of freedom, spiritual freedom. Declare yourself free from anxiety and fear, and free from all limiting beliefs. "

Swami Vivekananda

One cannot remain without feeling an electric shock in the veins when the words of this powerful genius are read and heard. He was the master among all the disciples of Ramakrishna Paramhamsa. He was also the first monk from India to travel to the United States in 1893, to give a spiritual boost that universalized yoga and spirituality.

Here are some of his most explicit reflections: “We are what our thoughts made of us; so take care of your thoughts. Words are secondary. Thoughts live and travel far. Every soul is potentially divine. The goal is to show this divinity by controlling its exterior and interior nature. Do this through work or prayer or psychic control, or philosophy - through one or more books or in temples or in any other form, these are just minor details."
