This Uluwatu YTT curriculum is influenced around Peruvian Shamanism, providing students with a unique and spiritually driven course that goes beyond just a certification. Called by the energy of the Bali ocean, spirits, and each other, School Yoga Institute invites you to come to evolve on your spiritual and yogic path. You will gain knowledge in yoga alignment, anatomy, adjustments, philosophy, and Ayurveda.
Experience a spiritual awakening in paradise with a unique YTT in Uluwatu, Bali. The beautiful Salty Breeze is a brand new bungalow haven nestled on the southern cliffs of Bali, Indonesia. Uluwatu is listed as the number one travel destination in the world according to TripAdvisor.
From the fresh air of the sea to the sunny skies that fill the waters with warmth, School Yoga Institute provides a transformational experience that allows you to live your truth out loud.
A 200-hour YTT holds a strong intention for personal transformation. In this way, the courses are designed not only to provide students with tools to share the wisdom of yoga with others but also to look at their own lives from a spiritual perspective. Each training holds unique energy, created from like-minded souls who join from all over the world.
To guide the process of personal transformation, they draw on the ancient wisdom of the East as well as on the Shamanic Medicine Wheel of Peru. The 200-hour YTT courses are arranged in four cycles, following the four cardinal directions, asking the guardian spirits to guide a cycle of release, understanding, growth, and empowerment. Together, create a space that reveals your wisdom within and accelerates the realization of your life purpose.
Mystical yoga, or the yoga of spiritual practice, reaches deep into the roots of an ancient way of life. The study of this knowledge calls to reveal the yoga, the union, between yourselves and everything around you. The 200-hour YTT embodies this approach, opening you up to the wisdom of the teacher that is already within each of you. In 21 days, immerse yourselves in experience, dance, chant, sing.
Find community with like-minded people and embrace the stillness within yourselves. Call on your intuition for the answers and speak from spirit to spirit. Delve deep into the experience, free from the skins of your past, from unnecessary distractions to allow the authentic connection with yourselves to emerge.
Through the journey of the 200-hour YTT, students have the opportunity to step into their power as yoga teachers, to rediscover facets of their being, and share a deeper knowledge of the mystical dimensions from where you all came and to which you will all return.
Through the study of ancient wisdom and the practice of daily mystical yoga, begin to reveal a greater sense of beauty, love, and freedom. Discover yoga as a toolkit that you can apply to bring you into present awareness of the true, pure essence of life.
Choosing to endeavor on the path of a yoga teacher is a noble pursuit of committing to oneself, to embodying a more aligned way of life. This journey will ask for self-reflection, honesty, acceptance, growth, and discipline. It is a full immersion into the world of yoga which has the power to bring life-altering alignments.
During the 200-hour YTT, the school asks participants to embrace all aspects of the yogic lifestyle, such as observing a vegetarian diet, living free from the distractions of other substances (including alcohol and caffeine), and moving away from technology and unnecessary communication with the external world.
They ask for dedication, commitment, and surrender, as well as full immersion in the spiritual community for the duration of the training. In their experience, this commitment and immersion make the work as impactful and powerful as possible. They ask students to come with an open heart and mind, ready to see and to receive all that is out there.
Each day carries an intention, a spiritual lesson, that you explore throughout the day. Begin each morning with sunrise meditation, followed by 90-minute asana practice, and a nourishing yogic breakfast. The days are spent learning yogic theories and healing practices through workshops, classes, and group discussions.
During this time, discuss the fundamentals of yogic living, including yogic diet, anatomy, meditation, cleansing practices, pranayama, Ayurveda, and the ancient wisdom of the "Yoga Sutras". The 200-hour YTT also includes other methods of healing, calling on not just the physical and mental elements but also the more subtle forms of healing work such as earth medicines, energy healing, and shamanic journeying.
Also, share the fundamentals of intelligent sequencing and explore alignment and adjustment of poses in depth. Each evening, close with Satsang, the evening gathering, which may be meditation, kirtan chanting, or sacred ceremony. Share the "Art of Teaching" and the "Art of Touch", during which students will learn to teach two asana sequences, the "Mystical Hatha Flow", a slow, meditative, Sivananda-based practice, and the "Mystical Vinyasa Flow", a more intense, breath-synchronized, and fluid flow.
Students will explore proper asana alignment and adjustment of poses in-depth, as well as the key to intelligent sequencing. This forms the solid foundation upon which students can step into their unique teaching ability as a teacher. Each evening, come together with Satsang, an evening gathering, which may be meditation, kirtan chanting, or a sacred ceremony.

The 200-hour YTT is open to people of all yoga abilities. They simply ask that participants arrive with an open heart and mind, ready to fully commit their energy and focus to being present and embracing this immersive experience. Blessed to be raised vegetarian by her amazing Bhakti yogini mama who encouraged her to truly be her adventurous self, Tessa was exposed to yoga at a very young age, poring over a Swami Vishnudevananda book on her parent’s bookshelf. Infinitely intrigued by the asanas and strange kriyas, she copied Padmasana, full Lotus position and to this day it’s probably so easy because she did it constantly.

Bali is a sacred land with a diverse population of travelers, busy cities, breathtaking beaches, incredible culture, and an ever-changing landscape and atmosphere. As you travel through Bali, you will find that there is truly a place for everyone. Whether you’re looking to try new restaurants, meet new people, or retreat to a place of solitude to perhaps meet yourself, Bali has an area to offer you.
As an organization, School Yoga Institute is very selective about the locations they choose to host their Bali YTT programs. They believe that the environment in which you learn has the potential to enhance your overall experience. Bali is known as the "heart chakra" of the world and is one of the school's favorite locations to guide transformative YTTs.
They always make an effort to collaborate with retreat centers that take a more eco-friendly approach by offering local and organic food and by eliminating as much waste as possible. They are currently working with three significantly different but equally amazing retreat centers in Bali that are located in varying regions of the island.
Three vegan/vegetarian, high vibration meals per day, are included. Please bring your own water bottle to be used for the duration of the course.
