You’ll stay in a safe, clean hotel within five to 10 minutes walking from the school. The yoga shala is centrally located close to the hotel zone. Every student who registers for the teacher training will receive a private room included in the price. Shanti Yoga School carefully selects the hotels they recommend to balance affordability, comfort, and proximity to the school. The trainees often tell them how much they love the rooms.

Program

Certifications

Students who complete their training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).

You will learn about all aspects of yoga from the classical, modern, physical, spiritual, energetic, and emotional. The emphasis is on teaching true yoga as defined in ancient texts. Accordingly, they see yoga as a means to understand the self beyond the physical. Though there will be plenty of exercises, they pride themselves on teaching the more subtle and complete definition of yoga.

You will learn the world’s most popular and versatile physical yoga asana classes: Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, Yin, and Restorative. In addition, you will be introduced to many ancient, often not taught techniques, to help you in the future: joint exercises, kriyas (cleansing techniques), and Ayurveda, a school of ancient Indian medicine and yoga's sister science.

Studio and classroom

Shanti Yoga works with local communities to provide the best yoga studio and classroom spaces. They aim to provide the biggest, brightest, and airiest spaces. Instructors are encouraged to bless the space prior to class as well. Their mission at Shanti Yoga is to teach authentically so you and all students can spread yoga across the globe. When everybody in the world becomes a yogi, suffering will end.

Curriculum

The emphasis is on teaching true yoga as defined in ancient texts. Accordingly, they see yoga as a means to understand the "self" beyond the physical. 3. Karma - Selfless action

When to arrive - Training start and end

Shanti Yoga School invites students to arrive by 4 p.m., at the latest, on the day of the course start date. This allows time for checking into your room, relaxing, settling in, and joining a brief welcome orientation and group dinner.

The last day of the program is a half-day but Shanti Yoga School asks students to plan on leaving in the late evening (after 4 p.m.). Typically, the certificate ceremony lasts until 2 or 3 p.m.

Karma yoga

Karma means action and reaction. In ancient yogic texts, Karma yoga specifically means the yoga of action. It’s about performing a duty for duty’s sake. Doing something because it needs to be done, and not for the reaction it produces. This is how you achieve “moksha”, the Sanskrit word for “liberation”.

At Shanti Yoga, they teach students about Karma yoga and ask that they practice it daily in small doses. They also encourage students to perform larger acts of kindness on days off when they have more time.

Included excursions

You will have daily beach meditations, shatkarmas, and pranayama sessions.
